Since the Kismet variant is apparently available as of Villains going live – or will be once the whole Apple thing gets resolved – I figured I’d start the topic so we could discuss our efforts in trying to unlock her.
So… Here we are! Discuss!
Since the Kismet variant is apparently available as of Villains going live – or will be once the whole Apple thing gets resolved – I figured I’d start the topic so we could discuss our efforts in trying to unlock her.
So… Here we are! Discuss!
So, her character arc runs something like this:
So once the event goes live, I'd probably start fiddling around with the Atlantis battle setup. Since Kismet never actually fares well in a battle against heroes, not sure if she has to achieve anything herself, like getting lots of Jinxes out. I suppose it's possible she might have to win a battle in The Block, but story-wise she never battled any heroes there.
It could be somehow connected to Madam Mittermeier's as well.
Tried the following 3 games in sequence:
Lost to Kismet in the Block, with Sentinels, Setback, and KNYFE.
Defeated her in Atlantis with Visionary, Ra, Haka, and Guise. Inconceivable Obstruction was out first turn, and I made sure her Environment Destruction card and Gimmicky Character came out.
Defeated her in MMFFCC with Setback, Argent Adept, Fanatic, Hunted Naturalist, Chrono-Ranger. (Everyone at full health, Fanatic at 28)
No unlock.
From what I recall, Kismet actually caused the prison riot although she didn’t participate in the mayhem; choosing to escape instead. I will try to induce her deck to do some nasty chaotic things to the block, for example she might destroy the lock down or X amount of guard cards + the warden. Maybe win a game while prison break is in play. Tough stuff to orchestrate.
For good measure I will have Setback in the mix because of the history they have together. Maybe Expatriette as well to really make Kismet furious.
I have been randomly playing various hero teams against Kismit in MMFFoCaC and haven’t got anywhere yet other than the discovery that she seems to really be easy in that environment. Right now we need someone to stumble on an unlock to get us hunting in the right direction.
I am trying to remember where setback originally defeated her to send her to the block. It was Vegas right?
What is easy about her in that environment?
Well, for starters Inconceivable Obstruction doesn't do her any good there at all, since there's exactly zero targets in that environment.
The venue wasn't mentioned in the Letters Page episode.
They said it was a Casino and it is seen on Cash Out and Violent Trickster
All right so here is my quick analysis based on the info we have.
Enviroments of interest:
The Block
Atlantis
MMFFOCAC
Heroes (as depicted on her cards)
Argent Adept
Fanatic
Visionary
Ra
Mr. Fixer
NightMist
CronoRanger
Tachyon
Absolute Zero
SetBack
It looks like Visionary, Ra, Mr. Fixer & NightMist in Atlantis (Mystery Comics 290, 291 & 292 [Kismet Card art])
Freedom Five in MMFFoCaC (FF 744 & card art MMFFoCaC)
Beyond this it is hard to determine where the other characters come in. Possibly the block, but that is just a guess.
Guise was also in Atlantis. It's the same shark on Inconceivable Obstruction and Jump the Shark.
Your right I missed that. It is confirmed as the additions match Mystery Comics 292.
Darn it aftet a little further review, Fumbling Fool from SetBack’s deck - Mystery Comics 291 with Setback, the Wraith and Kismet.
So in Atlantis that gives us:
SetBack
The Wraith
Guise
Visionary
Ra
With possibly NightMist and Mr. Fixer as the card they appear in has them as puppets and is not clearly in Atlantis. My thought in putting them there is that the card is Mystery Comics 290 which is in sequence with 291 & 292 which are clearly in Atlantis.
In all fairness, it's also in a different deck. (it was in Kismet's Letters Page episode, too)
And Guise was not involved in the fight against Kismet. He just jumped the shark.
He was totally THERE though. For whatever that’s worth.
The real issue is determining when she made the change into her variant. That will tell us a lot about what we should be testing.
Yeah, I only meant the city wasn't mentioned. Totally in a casino.
Probably Rook City if I had to guess. I can’t imagine that Rook City lacks casinos.
I would guess Megaopolis based on when they were discussing that encounter. If not there then Rook City.
Well, I'm just about "trying for Trickster Kismet"ed out. I've done probably 25 games against Kismet in the last couple days, trying all manner of conditions (lots of theorized win/loss conditions, several of which included Hunted Naturalist; all of Kismet's ongoing Jinxes out at the same time, Lady Luck and Inconceivable Obstruction both successfully preventing their various preventions 10 times in a game, etc). Running out of ideas and getting kind of tired of MMFFCC. I think I'm going to take a break and see if I can help nail down the condition on Parse.
I am seeing a lot of MMFFCC and Atlantis as the focus for people's attempts so I think it is important to note that the first Kismet iteration gets put into the block and then for the Bio of Trickster Kismet we have this important line.
"...Now, once again recently out of the Block..."
She goes to MMFFCC as Trickster Kismet but I suppose the actual transition from regular==> Trickster is related to the act of leaving the Block.
I have been playing all three locations and am also getting bored but I really think the Block deserves more focus than the other two.
Also, multiple Atlantis games really makes me more irritable than the Block so if the unlock condition is not related to the environment, it sure is a lot easier messing around in the Block than it is to have Atlantis beating up on you game after game.
Beat Kismet in MMFFCC, with Setback, FSParse, Hunted Naturalist (intentionally incapped), Argent Adept, and Scholar. Won with a 17-Damage Plucky Break (High-risk with 18 Tokens, plus 6 for Critical Multiplier, and +1 for Nemesis and +1 for targeting arrow) when she had 17 health left.
No unlock.
I’m starting to think that killing her in a certain place with a certain team (unless it’s VERY specific) isn’t the answer.
Has anyone tried letting her get all of her jinxes out? Or at least a bunch?
Or maybe it’s about beating a DIFFERENT villain, like Cosmitron or Bomber Blade?
I tried having her apply one of each of her ongoings to the person pictured on the Ongoing in the same match - no unlock.
I've had her get all 10 of her ongoing Jinxes, the shark, and Lady Luck all at the same time - nothing.
I've also had her dodge destruction with Lady Luck (using Sucker Punch) twice in the same match - nothing there either. That was wacky enough I figured I should try it.
The other villian unlocks have all pretty much involved 2 games. So I am guessing it is something like win a game in Atlantis and then win a game in MMFFoCaC. It us going to be figuring out the right sequence of environments with the right charactets. Can’t test it right now, but my current theory is win in Atlantis and then lose in the block. The right charactets are in question for me.
I attempted to lsoe to Kismet in The Block, then beat her in Atlantis and Carnival Madame Mittermeier's Fantastical Festival of Conundrums & Curiosities. No such unlock just doing that.
I'm wondering if tis to have "Gone without a Trace" destroy her.
I think according to the lore the sequence is Kismet lose in Atlantis, Kismet escapes the block, Kismet lose in MMFFoCaC. Not sure if this will trigger an unlock, but worth a try.
Okay tried it over lunch and no joy. I should note when I lost to her in the block a prison riot had been played and 4 prisoners (no guards) were in play. Other that just keeping playing random games I don’t have any more theories at this point.
An unlock has been posted (not by me).
https://twitter.com/Braithwhite/status/880500662009810944
Looks like it happened in The Block at the end of Kismet's turn. Photo shows two incapped heroes (KNYFE and Haka) and the user said "A miscreant from the start, she slipped away during the riot...but The Block kept the Talisman as evidence."
Possibility to try: Kismet wins while the Talisman in the play area of an incapped hero
Yeah. First, try somewhere else, and then in the Block (the Block might be necessary)
No Unlock
Villain: Kismet
Heroes: Legacy, Tempest, TL Tachyon
Environment: Block
- TLT had the talisman and was incapped.
- A prison riot was played RIGHT before the round Kismet was incapped.
- a Hero incapped Kismet.
~*~*~*~
Maybe it involves dealing damage to the heroes to remove jinxes?
Tried that, it's not that simple. Though–it was the Environment that incapped the last hero, not Kismet. Still, it's not just "Kismet wins and the heroes have the Talisman."
And now I tried it with Kismet going in for the kill--nope.
New working theory: defeat Kismet in Atlantis first. All of the other villain unlocks (except Infinitor, who is a "defeat in a certain way" villain which we know Kismet isn't) start with "Defeat standard."
My next scenario test: Defeat Kismet in Atlantis, then lose to Kismet in the Block but have the Talisman. (Final turn prison riot is a separate test condition; thankfully I'll only have to do the defeat once.)
Here is a better shot, from the Steam version. It might help give some more insight!

I am seeing that in the turn right after the prison break kismet finishes off the heroes. The hint suggests it was the Filter agent that possessed the talisman.
I can't tell from the shot which hero had the talisman but I would try to make it land on KNYFE. It looks like it might be important to have prisoners in play. So I am thinking something like H prisoners in play or more prisoners than guards None of the prisoners are damaged so it looks to me as if they just came out from a prison break and then Kismet incapped the heros on the next turn. It might actually help to have her in challenge or ultra mode so she can deal that incap level damage.
I note there are four Inmates in play; might be important.
I don't see inconceivable obstruction or lady luck in play. They probably aren't neccessary.
UNLOCKED!
Environment: Block
Villain: Kismet
Heroes: KNYFE, FANATIC, ARGENT ADEPT, HAKA
- prison riot brought 3 inmates
- KNYFE had the talisman
- Fanatic last one to be incapped
Unlocked upon defeat
My theory: Lose to Kismet in the block with the talisman in heroes area.
EDIT: Stupid contradiction due to sleep.
???
Did you lose or win?
I lost. Damn. i meant unlocked when I lost. I'll edit it.
There's definitely another factor besides what's stated in UXM266's theory. Just had a non-unlock with Haka, AZ, and PW Adept; the Talisman was in Haka's play area, Kismet finished off the last surviving hero (Haka) on her turn.
Two big differences I notice from the information UXM266 provided about their unlock:
- Prison Riot was not played in my game, in UXM266's it was
- The Talisman-holder was also the last hero standing in my game, in UXM266's they were different heroes
Could be that the missing piece is one of those two.
Scratch that, just had a game that hit both of those differences and no unlock.
Tachyon, RC Wraith, Sky-Scraper vs. Kismet in the Block
Tachyon held the Talisman, Wraith was last to be incapped
Prison Riot was played (only brought out Char)
Kismet defeated the last hero on her turn. No unlock.
Maybe she needs to be defeated first, you know to send her to the Block
Edit, did this, with the prison riot play and four inmates in play. no unlock.
Does Prison Riot need to play three inmates? I also had an agent in play at the end of the battle, could that be an issue?
Unlocked.
Used the same team that has seen success (KNYFE, Fanatic, AA, Haka), lost to Kismet in the Block. Talisman ended in Kismet’s play area but had bounced around. There was a Prison Riot played, but it didn’t produce any inmates (second to bottom card of Block), and the environment ended with one Agent in play.
Starting to think it’s just beat Kismet (maybe in Atlantis?), then lose to her in the Block with KNYFE in the first slot and have taken the Talisman at least once, maybe with a Riot having been played.
Or maybe, paralleling Parse, a certain number of Jinxes in play.
(Cross posted from Steam.)
The team is a crucial component. Hapless Strike shows the Block, AA, and Fanatic, which implies that it is happening during her escape, and references Prime Wardens issue 11. Glass Jaw references Prime Wardens issue 9, which implies that Haka was at the Block as well. KNYFE was still a member of the Block at this point in the continuity, which implies that she might have been there as well.
No Unlock, but here are my latest notes in case they trigger any ideas for the rest of you gunters...
Setup:
Have previously beaten Kismet in Atlantis with Dark Watch
Kismet in the Block vs. KNYFE, Legacy, RC Wraith, Tempest
During Game:
Prison Riot came out during a lock down & brought out 3 inmates
Heroes used the Talisman's power on both The Block and Kismet
At End:
Killed by damage from inmates. 3 inmates in play (Char, TCP, & Rogue), no agents
Wraith was holding the Talisman
KNYFE was the last to fall
I’m really coming around to the belief that it’s the full team composition that does it.
Except, per Steam, Haka is not necessary.
It is not just having prison riot played a minimum nuber of times.
I defeated her in Atlantis and then lost to her in the block. The team in the block was KNYFE (first position), Dark Visionary and Haka. I used incaped Dark Visionary’s power to play Prision Riot 6 times and then lost with KNYFE as the last hero standing. No unlock
I am now thinking that KNYFE needs to be on the team and prison riot needs to be played, but also that you need to have at least 4 prisioners in play when the game ends. Winning in Atlantis may be a precondition.
I can deny the prisoners in play. I won with no prisoners in play.
The Steam unlocks have all had the commonality of team composition. All of them have had KNYFE, AA, and Fanatic.
I'm thinking it's a pun on Wardens, such that AA (head Prime Warden) and at least one other PW are required, even if in their non-PW forms.
If I hadn't unlocked already I'd be testing "lose in the Block, having flipped the Talisman at least once, with KNYFE, any AA, and (any version of Fanatic/Haka/Tempest/Captain Cosmic) on the team."
Confirmed. Lost with KNYFE, Dark Vis, and Haka. KNYFE was last standing, 5 prisioners in play and prision riot played 3 times. Prisioners dealt the last damage. Talisman was flipped several times. No Unlock.
I will test KNYFE, AA and Haka and see what happens.
Hah! A pun with the “Wardens” makes total sense, especially after defeating blood sweat and tears to get mad bomber blade.
Should try it with more or less of the wardens, and maybe if KNYFE has to be part of it.
Well it is not just knyfe and the wardens. I didn’t win at Atlantis first this time, so maybe that is the problem. Do we know if anyone got it without winning in Atlantis immediately prior?
Several people have suggested they never beat Kismet in Atlantis (sounds like a Woody Allen movie), so I dunno.
Unlocked on iPad
Beat Kismet in Atlantis with talisman in my hero area
lost to kismet in block with talisman in hero area.
no prison break played
Same hero team both places?
Just onlocked on my mobile account.
I'd tried a team of the five Vengeance heroes, first winning in Atlantis, then losing in the Block. No dice.
Today I did Ra, Fanatic, Visionary, Guise, and Haka winning in Atlantis, then KNYFE, AA, Haka, and Fanatic losing in the Block. In the second game, I had no inmates enter play and, while I had flipped it a few times, the Talisman was in Kismet's play area at the end. Unlock upon loss.
I'll see about replicating on my Steam account later, if I find the time.
Different teams
I feel like it has to have AA and Fanatic, because of that one card that has AA hitting Fanatic, Hapless Strike.
Unlocked on tablet. KNYFE, AA and PWFanatic. Did not beat Kismet in Atlantis.
KNYFE had the talisman. Kismet dealt the last blow.
My hypothesis:
Win a game against Kismet. Then, lose to Kismet in the Block with KNYFE, AA and Fanatic (additional heroes may be present). The Talisman must have flipped at least once. Kismet must deal the final blow.
I just repeated your conditions. Both times the talismans was in the players hands. In the Block KNYFE was the last hero standing, but Haka had the talisman. I think he had it in Atlantis as well. I don’t know if it matters , but in the block Kismet took out all of the heros. I just concentrated on making sure the talisman was on the hero side and took out all the inmates and guards as they appeared.
Ok, I got it. My team was KNYFE, AA, Fanatic, RC Wraith, and Dark Visionary.
We lost in the Block, after seeing 2 Prison Riots, 1 Hapless Strike, and stealing the talisman twice. It was in our possession when we lost, and I made sure the one with the Talisman was the last one down.
My theory:
1.) Defeat Kismet in Atlantis with a team that may or may not matter. Mine had Ra, Guise, and a couple others who were there.
2.) Lose to Kismet in The Block with KNYFE, Argent Adept, and Fanatic on the team. Prison Riot must be played at least once (maybe) and the heroes must have taken the Talisman, but don’t necessarily have to have it when they die. (Also, it doesn’t matter if you die from villain or environment damage, probably. The Environment killed me, and I got it.)
Ok, if the Atlantis fight isn’t important, then that makes this easier.
Lose to Kismet in the Block with KNYFE, Argent Adept, and Fanatic on the team. The Talisman must have flipped at least once, and Prison Riot must have been played at least once.
Unknowns: do you need to still have the Talisman when you lose?
If so, does the Talisman holder have to die last?
Debunked: No particular inmates need to be out. In my game, they all hit the field, but were destroyed by Lockdown. The only target left at the end was a Guard. Hoeffel and the Officers never appeared.
Kismet does not need to land the final blow. Neither does the Environment. Both have been shown to work.
As I mentioned, I unlocked with zero inmates played. I had a Defensive Displacement, Filter Officer, Lockdown, and Block Guard played in my unlock game.
Unknowns: do you need to still have the Talisman when you lose?
I didn't. The Block guard hit it to return it to Kismet just before she took the heroes out, though.
No unlock with knyfe and 3 wardens
Fanatic, captain cosmic, tempest
No AA, no haka
Took the talisman, used the power.
Perhaps AA, knyfe and any other warden.
First I’ll try with haka then AA.
I know someone had said they got no inmates, but I thought you meant you got a Riot that PULLED no inmates.
And I can almost guarantee, it’s not “Wardens.” It’s specifically Fanatic and Argent Adept, because of Hapless Strike.
No unlock with knyfe and 3 wardens
Haka,Fanatic, tempest
No AA
Took the talisman,
Perhaps AA, really is necessary
I’ll try AA now but keep tempest.
I can suspect that tempest might block the unlock considering it is an alien and that doesn’t jive with filter.
Yep Im sick of losing to kismet, I will try now with knyfe fanatic and AA. I used many other permutations avoiding this combo.
Check with PWAA. I used regular AA, but PW Fanatic.
Sorry just hit it up with got the variant with knyfe AA fanatic haka. In the block
Took the talisman etc…
I made sure to not use the talisman just in case that wasn’t clear.
It seems like we have the conditions. I agree though someone should specifically try with the variants for knyfe AA and fanatic.
Rogue agent in particular seems like it shouldn’t work.
I could see the actual prime wardens also not working because the event was pre prime wardens time. It does get tiring losing a bunch of times in a row.
I think having the Talisman or at least having it in your possession the turn your team is incapacitated may be key. In the setup conditions for Trickster Kismet the heroes start with the talisman.
In addition, I never used the talisman’s power when I got the unlock.
Unlocked.
Did it with a team of Knyfe, AA and Fanatic, no varients used.
Prison Riot was played twice, each time it spat out two inmates. There were no agents in play at the end of the game
Hero holding the talisman was not the last to go down. Used the Talisman power only on the Block, three times. The Talisman only changed hands once, coming into my possesion. It was not at full health at the end of the game.
Kismet did not deal the killing blow to my last hero, who killed by a Time Crazed prisoner, so it would seem that only a loss is required.
I would argue that the basic conditions seem to have been locked down more or less. Fanatic, AA and Knyfe have to be on the team, and you have to lose to Kismet in the block. Anything else, about the number of jinxes, or the number of prisoners I couldn't say
Unlocked.
Tailman flipped twice.
RA KNYFE, PW AA, PW Fanatic
Prison Riot never played.
I hit my team for a lot of damage when I got my unlock on Steam and iOS.
Can that have something to do with it? Lose to Kismet in the Block and deal x damage to your heroes?
thematically makes sense.
I had Fanatic deal damage to herself, I think 9 in total due to her ongoing that lets her damage herself to hurt things
perhaps have at least one of your heroes incapacitate another?
Both times I unlocked Kismet my team LOST in the block, and it was unlocked at end game. So it's not simply that on it's own.
I think that it is:
lose to Kismet in the Block
Knyfe, AA, and Fanatic must be on the team.
Once Kismet flips to her Deranged Miscreant side, she can never flip back.
I'm not sure about that last bit, but having the talisman in the hero play area is the hallmark of her promo power, so I'm guessing that the last bit of the unlocked revolves around keeping the talisman with the heroes and losing. Making her give up her magic feather, as it were, and learning the power comes from her and not the talisman.
Got the unlock with a team order of Fanatic / AA / KNYFE. It's not that she can't flip back - I flipped the Talisman, and thus flipped her, each round. She ended on her flip side, having just reclaimed the Talisman, which finished in her play area.
By the end of the game, she had four Ongoing Jinxes out.
I mostly let her beat on me throughout the game, though I sped the process a little with Sacrosanct Martyr. Hapless Strike came out once - it's how AA incapped himself to end the game. That was the only self-damage I did outside of Sacrosanct Martyr.
Prison Riot was played once and only brought out two prisoners. A couple of guards were also played. Lock Down came out on the last round and wiped them, and was the only card in play for the environment at the end of the game.
No, she can definitely flip back. She did for me.
Unlocked. Fanatic, AA, and KNYFE at the block. Kismet flipped once only, and Prison Riot brought out one prisoner.
I will note that when I attempted unlocking every other time, I dealt damage to the heroes until incapped. On my most recent attempt, Kismet dealt the final blow on all three heroes. So that may be a caveat.
I recall Char obliged and finished off my time in a convenient way.
Has anyone achieved the unlock with friendly fire for the final blow?
I did, assuming you mean damage dealt by a hero target and not the Setback card by that name.
I also did, see a couple posts up. Hapless Strike self-incapped my last hero.
I know everyone is focused on the block conditions, but I want to rewind and establish if winning in Atlantis first is required. Has anyone got the unlock without beating her in Atlantis?
If no, do we know if a specific team is needed in Atlantis?
As for the block, the only self damage I did was through hapless strike for my unlock.
Yes:
No unlock
Team of KNYFE, Parse, Tempest, AA in the Block.
Prison Riot was played and produced 2 Prisoners. The Talisman had changed posession at least 3 times. Previously fought and defeated Kismet in Atlantis. AA had the Talisman at game end.
2 jinxes and 0 luckys were in play.
Kismet had the last strike on Tempest and AA; Char did the job for KNYFE and Parse.
Success!
Team of KNYFE, PW Fanatic, AA, and RC Wraith in the Block.
Char got the last hit. Inmates basically did all the damage. 3 of 4 heroes were incapped by Inmates.
The Talisman was in KNYFE's play area at the end of the game. Prison Riot was played twice. (Thanks, traitor-Wraith!)
3 or more Jinxes in play. Don't think a Lucky hit the table at all.
Unlock upon losing.
I felt kinda dirty making Wraith put nasties from the block into play. Must have been some alternate universe Wraith where she is working for Blade or the Chairman. :)
That was an "In addition to what I quoted" not "instead of"
I misunderstood. Sorry
A useful post of the status of the hunt on the Steam forum....

1. KNYFE in first slot
2. Having won vs Kismet in the past
3. Kismet flipping at least once
4. Imminent Destruction has been played
5. Imminent Destruction destroys Lock Down
6. Unlucky Break has been played
7. Fanatic and AA on team
If you have all 7 of these, I'm almost certain you'll unlock. Try to eliminate them 1 at a time, starting with number 2, as it can't be undone. Of course, you must be on block. Feel free to copy/paste this list and add or remove items. If you have done all 7 and didn't unlock, please tell me.

Since that post, users there seem to have knocked out Items 1, 5, and 6 as factors (since logs/screenshots there show wins without them)
So, After having previously defeated Kismet, lose to her in The Block with a team that includes Fanatic, AA, and KNYFE. Kismet must flip at least once and Imminent Destruction must have been played.
I'm worried that if we're not close here, that it might involve more specific details about how Kismet was previously defeated, which will be hard to test. OTOH, this almost seems like too easy a condition for a villain variant unlock when compared to what's required for the other ones.
Did Handelabra adopt a policy of confirming the individual parts of a multi-part unlock?
Further updates from Steam look like Imminent Destruction isn't needed, which gets things back to just those three heroes losing in the Block. Meaning there's something else we're not seeing (obviously).
Well, I just unlocked her but I'm not sure what was different (no log as it was on my iPad).
Team was AA, KNYFE, & Fanatic (in that order). Talisman flipped multiple times, ending in Kismet's play area.
I did have heroes use the Talisman's power on Kismet (though I believe others have unlocked her w/o this).
Multiple jinxes and lucky cards were played, as well as Hapless Strike. Heroes did a bunch of damage to Kismet, Env cards, and themselves.
Both Imminent Destruction and hero actions did destroy a bunch of environment cards (agents, inmates, and other), so this could be an avenue worth exploring.
I'd been trying things out again without checking for updates today (well, I checked the thread this morning, but nothing had been posted since the 3rd at that time). Here's my log from my unlock. I would note that I played this exact team in a game prior and didn't get the unlock, but I didn't think to save unsuccessful logs to use as a point of comparison. I know that I never used the talisman's power.
KNYFE was in the first slot, then Fanatic, then AA. In the Block.
Unlucky Break was played really early, Kismet was flipped once (then flipped back).
Imminent Destruction was played (ouch, it dealt 4 damage) but didn't destroy Lock Down.
No unlock. But then again, I did win against her. Let's try not doing that.
Lost to her (but the Environment dealt the last damage). Lock Down wasn't played, I think. KNYFE, Fanatic, AA. Unlucky Break and Imminent Destruction were played. Flipped her once. No unlock.
AA, Fanatic, KNYFE, lost to Kismet in the Block. Mostly did nothing but attack the Talisman, got her to flip a bunch of times. Imminent Destruction was played, but not Unlucky Break. No unlock.
Given the team comp - was Hapless Strike ever played?
Yes, I do believe it was.
Unlocked, log attached.
Update from Steam; in light of some hard work by Bart_KF on Steam, MigrantP has confirmed that there is no card condition by Kismet or the Block. No "X card must have been played/put into play/destroyed" is part of the unlock. (Someone has pointed out that at least one unlock occurred without any Hero cards entering play either, so probably no card condition at all.)
https://steamcommunity.com/app/337150/discussions/0/1368380934242744715/?ctp=16
So the current understanding is:
Lose to Kismet in the Block with KNYFE, Argent Adept, and Fanatic on the team. [Something else, probably related to the Talisman.]
Testing my recollection, has anyone unlocked this without the Talisman moving? I think there were a few that ended with the Talisman in Kismet's possession, but not sure I've seen one where it wasn't in the heroes' possession at least once.
It can't be just whether the Talisman has moved, since I had multiple non-unlocks with the KNYFE/Fanatic/AA team where I dragged the game out by flipping Kismet multiple times.
When I did get the unlock, it was on a game where I had the heroes punch each other as much as possible, with only 1-2 Talisman flips. The missing condition could well be having the heroes deal X amount of damage to each other, regardless of whether that removes any Jinxes.
I unlocked her losing to Kismet on her deranged miscreant side in the Block, the talisman was on 1 hp in KNYFE’s play area and AA and Fanatic had really beat on each other.
I’m guessing it’s, lose to Kismet in the Block, on her deranged miscreant side, with a team of KNYFE, AA and Fanatic.
There might be some requirement for the heroes to have done a certain amount of damage to each other too.
Can someone play a null game? KNYFE, Fanatic, AA, with every hero turn just being “skip,” “skip?”
No card plays, no powers. No damage, unless Hapless Strike HAPPENS to come out. The Talisman shouldn’t flip, unless the environment does it.
If that game doesn’t trigger the unlock, then there is an extra condition. Either “steal the Talisman,” “deal x damage to each other,” or something weird we haven’t considered.
If it DOES work, then we’re overthinking it, and the condition is just “lose in the Block with that team comp.”
I played a game where those 3 heroes dealt each other a lot of damage but never flipped the talisman… no unlock. I’m pretty sure the heroes and the talisman flip (or possibly Kismet flipping) are required. Hero’s dealing heroes at least a certain amount of damage may be required as well.
Just played two games with Fanatic, Knyfe, Argent vs Kismet in the Block where I did absolutely nothing. No unlock. In both games, guards caused the Talisman to flip and Lock Down entered play at least once.
Believe both games ended with the Talisman in the hero’s play area.
I just unlocked Kismet
I know i've beaten her elsewhere in the past no clue where though.
Team: Knife, PWAA, Fanatic
Enviroment: Block
I focused all my damage onto hitting myself aside from getting the talisman. And the Talisman never flipped back.
Fanatic deal the killing blow to both AA and herself. Kismet took down Knife.
The block basicly did nothing... a prisoner killed The warden, then Lockdown killed the prisoner. Lockdown was in pplay at end.
Talisman was in Fanatics Play area.
Knife died first, then AA, the Fanatic.
I've played several games with Knyfe, PWAA, and Fanatic against Kismet in the Block, all where I lost, and some where Talisman ended up in our play area, and some where it didn't. No unlock.
Unlocked on the block with PWAA, Fanatic, KNYFE.
KNYFE had the Talisman from first turn damage and kept it the rest of the game.
Argent used Syncopated Onslaught a bunch, Fanatic hit herself and KNYFE a bunch with her radiant damage power.
Fanatic died to Kismet from the Environment-wiping one-shot.
KYFE killed Argent and herself with the same Amplified Combatant play (using Fanatic’s incap). That same turn, Argent had damaged himself with Polyphoric Flare and KNYFE with Onslaught’s accompaniment. So both PWAA and KNYFE damaged themself and each other the turn that she incapped them both an lost the game.
What if having the Talisman in a hero's play area for a certain number of turns is needed? Like, say 2, because I unlocked her in 4 rounds...
Just unlocked twice on both Android and Steam. Same setup as I tried before (Kismet against Argent, Fanatic, Knyfe in The Block). Only did two things different to my previous attempts
- I intentionally took The Talisman from Kismet in the first round (in the other games, I didn't intentionally try to steal the talisman). In both games, they were in my play area (specifically, Knyfe) when the game ended.
- The games ended fast enough that The environment didn't do much of anything. (One of my earlier hunches is that 'Lock Down must not come into play')
Other than that, my strategy was steal The Talisman from Kismet and then have my characters keep attacking themselves. In one game, Fanatic ended it by knocking herself out. In another, Kismet dealt the final blow.
Unfortunately, didn't save logs for either.
I just unlocked Trickster Kismet. I had each of my characters damage themselves at least once. I had the talisman in K.N.I.F.E.'s play area for 2 charater turns and AA's play area for 1 character turn and lost the game. I supect that the talisman only needs to be in a character play area for 2 of that character's turns. At no point did I have the talisman in a character play area for a complete turn from villain to environment so I don't believe that is a requirement.
Edit:
Another theory I have is that perhaps the talisman only needs to be destroyed at least once.
First time poster, long time reader.
Unlocked Trickster Kismet last night, using the formula everyone else seems to be using: Lose to Kismet in the Block, with K.N.Y.F.E., PWAA, and Fanatic on the team. I stole the Talisman once, and kept it on Fanatic. After that, I just focused on killing the team. Argent Adept went down from two instances of Weak Heart, Knyfe went down from Sacrosanct Martyr, and Fanatic was killed by Char. Think it was all in the same round. The Talisman never went back to Kismet. I think I've beat her before, and if I did, it was definitely before I got story-specific characters like Setback or KNYFE (who was around when Kismet escaped from the Block, although her story revolves more around Choke/Chokepoint).
I'm gonna take a shot in the dark:
Defeat Kismet. Then, lose to Kismet in the Block. The Talisman must be in a hero's play area at the end of the game you lose.

Welcome to the forums!!!
Thank you!
The community has discovered the unlock condition for Trickster Kismet:
Lose a game against regular Kismet in The Block, with at least K.N.Y.F.E., The Argent Adept, and Fanatic on the team. Over the course of the game, the Talisman must spend more full turns in hero play areas than full turns in the villain play area.
Yay! Congrats everyone!
From all the casino games the only one which felt right was stargames
Not sure if anyone's paying attention to this thread now, but I just tried to unlock Kismet, and it didn't work. My team was Ra, Fanatic, Argent Adept, K.N.I.F.E., and Captain Cosmic, fighting the original Kismet at The Block. I lost the game, and I am very sure I had the Talisman for more full turns than she did. I took it during the first round, and she never took it back.
If you’re playing on Steam do you have a game log you can share from this attempt?
I found the file, but had to rename it from .dat to .txt before I was allowed to upload it. Not sure if there's some other method of sharing it.
Wrong file. You're looking for log.txt.
Okay, I see it now. Unfortunately, I played a different game since then and it doesn't have that one.
If you do attempt again you can attach a game log and we can double check. I’d also suggest sending feedback to Handelabra through the app on the credits screen or here http://handelabra.com/contact/
