Hello,

this is my first post^^

I discovered a bug, if Sky-Scraper uses Catch a Ride and targets the Naturalist, he won't get the buff from Cornered Beast.

I reproduced it and there were enough targets, I used Environmental Allies at the Final Wastelands.

I wish everyone a nice weekend.

Howdy Roger, It's usually best to submit a bug report directly to Handelabra via their website.

What version of the game are you using? I set this up in Steam and was able to get the Cornered Beast boost. Are you sure you had Crocodile out? If you were using Environmental Allies you may have been in Gazelle to take full advantage.

Also, if you're on Steam then you can pull up the log file and attach that, which will help with reproducing the problem.  You can find them in /Users/AppData/LocalLow/Handelbra Games... on Windows.

I feel embarrassed now.

Sry. for the false alarm... but at least I registered here to submit the "bug" after over 1 year playing SotM and lurking around here for a long time :P

Okay, I hope this time it won't be as embarrassing as last time...

If it's a bug this time, could somebody reproduce it and confirm/report it?

I used Parse and activated buffer overflow as the ennead (ultimate) played a card to discard it.

Then all enemy characters activated their abilities and Atum plus Set played a villain card.

This time I could also use buffer overflow.

I skipped 3 villain cards and after all abilities of the ennead were used, buffer overflow was destroyed and a villain card played.

should't I be able to only skip 1 card?

Nope.  It's not limited how many card plays it can stop as long as it remains in play.  The destroy got interrupted by the Ennead actions from a card entering their trash.   So once the Ennead actions finish Buffer Overflow will be destroyed causing Parse to draw a card and the Ennead to finally play a villain card.

Yeah,  the Ennead are tricky - things that discard villain cards to the trash are dangerous to use because they will trigger them!  But I didn't realise that actually made Buffer Overflow stronger against challenge Ennead - since all the symbols are guaranteed to trigger,  you can at least suffer two less card play effects (if you are fighting those Ennead) since Buffer overflow can keep canceling cards until it gets destroyed - it does the discard first (and then discard effects resolve) and then it will do the destroy effect.  Technically it should attempt to destroy itself three times,  once for each discard,  but once it is destroyed the other attempts won't happen.

For non-challenge Ennead you usually want to try avoiding trashing cards to reduce the number of symbols being triggered. Cool interaction!

Hello, I am not sure if it's a bug.

Plague Rat played Seek and Destroy: Plague Rat deals the hero target with the most cards in play 3 melee damage. That hero's player either discards 2 cards or destroys 1 of their equipment cards.

Does the second part affects the player with the most cards in play or the hero which was dealt damage? Setback had Wrong time and place in game and was dealt damage but Mr Fixer had to destroy 1 of his equipment cards.

It's me again^^

I know here are a lot of experts in the forum, could somebody explain to me why Tempest didn't gets the damage reduction as he uses his power: http://imgur.com/a/F4oxp

It was the first round and Legacy played Take Down, almost no cards were played by the enemies. You can see all relevant of them on the picture, other cards below them are enemy character cards. Each enemy follows the advanced rules.

I just don't get why the environment deals Tempest 3 damage instead of 2.

Thank you

I wish that screencap showed the actual damage being dealt, but it should definitely be 2 with Otherworldly Resilience in play.

You haven't used a power yet in that screenshot so I can't say one way or the other.   We need a screenshot like Takewalker said showing the damage coming to Tempest.  If you use the power and Tempest took three damage from the environment then yes that would seem to be a bug.

RA

My assumption is there is a bug with Plague Rat in advanced mode "damage dealt by Plague Rat to non-villain targets is irreducible" because Otherwordly Resilience reduced the damage of the environment by 1 as Prime Wardens Tempest used his power as Plague Rat was defeated.

That is just my assumption, maybe some other interaction caused it.

Okay, here is another question:

http://imgur.com/a/Ft8sp

Image...

1: Stitch in Time is destroyed at the end of the environment turn, La Capitan takes a full turn out of turn order sequence.

Other at the end of the environment turn effects will be resolved if jumped back to tier 1.

2: Warp from tier 1 to 2.

3: La Capitan plays Throwback, the Environment takes a full turn out of turn order sequence.

At the end of La Capitan turn effects will be resolved if jumped back to tier 2.

4: Warp from tier 2 to 3.

5: The environment takes a full turn.

6: Warp from tier 3 to 2. I feel reminded of Inception the movie.

7: La Capitan plays another card. WHY??? She already played a card, isn't she supposed to trigger "at the end of turn" effects/deal damage?

What am I missing?

PS. I do not want to spam the forums therefore I will post in this thread if I am not sure if I found a bug. That's why I renamed this thread.

That would be a bug and one I find odd since this is a scenario I know I tested.  I've sent information to Handelabra. It should play out like this

1. Stitch in Time is destroyed at the end of the environment turn after any environment cards in play trigger that came out before Stitch in Time

2.  Start of turn for La Capitan

3. Play Throwback

4. Start of environment turn, any possible items which trigger would but don't deal damage to villain targets

5.  Play an environment card

6.  End of turn triggers which if they deal damage do no hurt villain targets

7.  End of turn for La Capitan

8. Any End of Turn affects for environment cards in play after Stitch in Time trigger

So the behavior of the Cortex Hyperstimulator seems to have been changed when they're doubled up. I had it on a villain card which did no damage during its turn normally, then both of them triggered. The first 1 lightning damage was reduced by the Cortex Hyperstimulator... and then so was the second 1 lightning damage. In the past, the first damage would've been reduced by both, freeing up the second blow to land.

Is this a bug?

Doesn't sound like one.   It's not like Haka of Shielding where it's a single source of one-time DR but multiple sources of one time DR.

Edit:  Thanks to someone else I was able to confirm in testing boards that this is correct behavior and has been that way in the game for well over a year at least.  So not a bug.

Probably a Christopher ruling that got updated as has happened a few times.  Making it not a bug but a Christopher dictated rule change.  You can still submit it to Handelabra for review as I could be wrong on this.

Edit: Don't submit anything to Handelabra as its not a bug currently but the prior behavior described would have been.

Heroes Unallied of Miss Informations deck says "Whenever a Hero target deals damage, redirect that damage to the Hero target with the highest HP. Then, destroy this card and play the top card of Miss Information's deck."

What if I play Coolant Blast with AZ and he deals 0 damage, should Heroes Unallied be triggered?

Please note if you used Coolant Blast to hit Miss Information or another nemesis of AZ that would be dealing 1 damage because of the nemesis bonus and would cause that to trigger.   Whomever it got redirected to though would not take any damage though.

Lets have a look on the text of Heroes Unallied again:

The explanation of Powerhound implies that dealing damage means that the damage has to be > 0 at any point but it can be reduced to 0.

This contradicts the following explanation.

Regarding the explanation of Powerhound the requirement "dealing damage" was met and therefore the card triggered but finally nobody lost a single healthpoint.

I don't feel that Ameena's comment contradicts what I said.   Heroes Unallied is dependent on dealing being dealt but if an attack by a hero target is zero on another target no damage was dealt and this doesn't trigger.   This card probably should say "would be dealt damage" instead of the current wording.

The confusion here is coming from a lack of clarity.

The point is that it can be redirected to another target that doesn’t take as much damage (Scholar, Haka, etc.) And even though it still triggered the card because it WOULD have dealt damage (such as with a Nemesis bonus) it no longer does.

Maybe I found another bug, here is the situation:

http://imgur.com/a/6YkVt

Image 1: It's the end of turn of Miss Information, she uses her effect.

Image 2: You can see all the health of each hero and that he green grosser also should use his end of turn effect.

Image 3: It's the turn of the sentinels and if you have a look at the health of all heroes, you can see the green grosser didn't trigger at the end of Miss Informations turn.

Image 4: Double Click at the green grosser to display his effect (in the top right corner you can see that the sentinels should be the target)

Image 5: All effects in play

Image 6: All villain cards in play

Am I missing something or is it a bug?

I know that there is no Signature in play which is associated with a specific hero instead Sentinel Tactics is in play which is associated with all of the sentinels... Should I be able to choose a sentinel as target of green grosser if it's a bug?

It occurs to me that you are not showing us the effects that were in play on Miss Information's turn, you are showing the effects in play at the play phase of The Sentinels. It's possible that The Idealist used her power to hit the Green Grosser earlier and then he healed. I don't know that for certain but it's a possibility.

I don't think we're ever going to be able to answer this definitively without having played the game ourselves and/or you submitting a bug if it happens again.

Some confirmation would be welcome.

http://imgur.com/a/BUSc4

In case somebody asks for a report, I use the iOS version and I have no access.

In case somebody asks what happened all the game and probably 1000 cards were played therefore the situation can't be evaluated...

...I reproduced the situation and it's the very first turn of my first hero

Image 1: It's the very first turn of my first hero and La Capitan already played a card. Chiquito has no card under it.

Image 2: The discard pile of La Capitan is open and you can see she played Anomalous Shift. The card is displayed.

Image 3: Chiquitos card is displayed, the effect is pointed out.

Image 4: Lets have a look at the discard piles of the heroes, you can see the Naturalist has a card in his discard pile (he is still waiting for his first turn, only La Capitan played a card at the moment and Anomalous Shift let him discard the top card of his deck). As you can see Chiquito didn't grab it.

My assumption: Chiquitos card says if a player discards a card it's placed under him. Anomalous Shift says cards are DISCARDED. Maybe there is some weird interaction which won't trigger the effect of Chiquito if cards are discarded but the source isn't the hand of a player!? Nevertheless the Naturalist is the only hero which was forced to put a card in his discard pile and I assume it should have been placed under Chiquito instead.

@Matchstickman - That is not true. Discards from deck (or elsewhere) count just fine. What matters is that a player (hero) discards it. A villain or environment card directly discarding it does not count. This is the same logic as Scholar of the Infinite.

Unless otherwise stated Discard specficially means "from hand", so anything discarded from a deck does not count for Chiquito.

Hello folks, here is a new one:

Wraith killed a battle medic which was the first damage dealt on her turn and the mega-gunner should take revenge.

What happened: Right after the battle medic was killed, Anubis dealt damage to Sgt. Steel and the mega-gunner aimed for Anubis.

Yeah, if that is accurate then that is a bug.

That's kind of hilarious, though. The MG starts revving up his minigun, all "She took out my buddy! I'm gonna--" And then Anubis steps in like "Whaddup, death god here" and the MG starts spraying him with bullets because he's way scarier than a lady in a purple cape. XD

So, I’m not sure if this is a bug or not:
I’m fighting Apostate with ChronoRanger, and I put The Whole Gang on Apostate’s lowest hp relic. Apostate gets a couple more relics into play, but then I finally get him to low hp, and then do lethal damage. He destroys the relic with The Whole Gang, and then I can choose another target with 4 or less hp to destroy. I choose Apostate, and so he destroys another relic, but stays on his front side. Then, after all the effects are triggered, he flips, heals to 20hp, then immediately flips back to his front side, and it’s the next hero’s turn.

Is that correct behavior? And if it is, what happens if I have No Executions on his next lowest up relic?

The behavior sounds right.  He hadn't flipped when The Whole Gang triggered and since there was another Relics in play while he was being destroyed again he would destroy his lowest health relic.   If he didn't have any left then you would have beaten him.   If you had No Executions on the second one he destroyed I would expect he would flip.   The reason being that he still had a Relic he could attempt to destroy and the rest of the text for him flipping after that doesn't care if it went back into his deck.  I can try out this situation and see what happens but that is what I'd expect.

...Wow, that's a cool way to get rid of relics. o.o If you can deal with his flip side, of course.

Iiiiii... am dubious if the the behaviour is as intended, but it is rules as written.

Destroying Apostate when Apostate is mid flip does trigger his flip condition again, flipping him to his Dark Corruptor, healing 20 HP and then back to his Infernal Emissary side.

So maybe not a bug, but a typo:

I'm afraid that I don't see the typo.

It says “villan” instead of “villain.”

So it does!  Well spotted!

Two potential bugs I ran into:

When huge Extremist Sky-Scraper uses her power to destroy a target when playing against challenge Chokepoint, after Sky-Scraper destroys the target Chokepiont steals it and Sky-Scraper deals each target 2 sonic damage instead of 1 target 3 damage.

If BoT Chrono-Ranger puts "Dead or Alive" OR "Kill on Sight" AND "The Whole Gang" on one of the ennead and uses his power on a second ennead target (I think it would also work with any other two non-hero targets but I havn't checked) upon one of them being destroyed, it will ask which bounty effect should activate first and you can chose to activate "Dead or Alive"/"Kill on Sight" first and draw the card(s), then activate "The Whole Gang" to destroy the second ennead (currently being targeted with BoT C-R's power) which then triggers a second round of "Dead or Alive" draw three cards and "The Whole Gang" destroy another target.  If you select the original ennead as the target to be destroyed, you can repeat the process on a loop infinitly drawing cards and "destroying" the targets back and forth until you choose to skip the bounty effects.

On the last weekly challenge, "Plan C", Visionary Unleashed tried to use Mental Divergence to put Thorathian Monolith from Extreme Skyscraper's trash on top of her deck, but instead nothing happened and no text appeared letting me know why it wasn't allowed.

I just tested this on normal mode. If Thorathian Monollith is the only ongoing, even if there are multiples, you don't get a message it just does outs the card in. With all the discarding going on in Plan C with Miss Information and La Capitan, it was probably getting discarded every time before I could draw it.

Soooooo, I gave Harpy with Applied Numerology a Cosmic Weapon. Bwahaha! Power in her play area, with numerals on it!

…but I got no choice to increase/decrease the numerals. Hmm. The clarifications on the wiki even address this combo.
