Another game featuring me and mistdrake from the Steam version.
Setup: Reedemer Fanatic (mistdrake), Guise (me), Termination Bunker (mistdrake), Omnitron-X (me) VS Skinwalker Gloomweaver @ Zhu-Long Temple
What could possibly go wrong?
We spend the first part battling it out with mostly Gloomweaver's relics because we're not really thinking straight. We're worried more about zealots, thinking more about the fact that we really don't like Zhu-Long. Mistdrake admits to choosing the place due to binging on ninja flicks, that's cool. Then we kind of realize we're dying, and Guise is the first to go.
Using the alter we revive Guise!...
and he dies by the time he gets his next turn, as if he ran up to Gloomweaver in GRITTY REBOOT mode going "I'LL STOP THIS CROOK" and got swiped all the way to Lithuania. We never gain enough cards again to revive anyone else and by the time it becomes a priority, Bunker gets locked out of drawing anymore cards, everyone else is dead, and we realize Guise does not have the best Incapatation abilities for Skinwalker Gloomweaver.
Fanatic, before she falls, manages to flip Gloomweaver but that's about it. Omnitron-X detonates but can't do much damage before being shut down. Bunker's down to 7 HP and is left with Heavy Plating, two Maintence Units, Turret Mode, Ammo Drop, and a Flak Canon,
and I kid you not, somehow we left this game alive.
We flipped Skinwalker Gloomweaver and, with ONE Hero out of four, won the game.
An Omnicanon knocks Skinweaver down from 80 HP to about 50, and his constant self-detonation is lowering himself down even more. Even though he keeps healing, Bunker's capable of knocking those HP points down every turn. Fanatic can heal Bunker for one, Omnitron-X's corpse is acting like a shield, and Guise is just kind of there disposing of Zhu-Long whenever it's convient for us. Turret Mode is helping us through with Bunker's two Maitence Units when he's not dealing extra damage... At one point Guise disposes of the Pouch of Bones, just in case it ended up coming up - whether or not it saved us, I don't really know.
Eventually that 50 goes down to 40, then 30, then 20. Zhu-Long occasionally knocks him out, and then an alter comes in to start cleaning up the villains and sweeping them out of the trash. And when mistdrake finally gets Gloomweaver down to the final 3, they draw, kicking the barrage of ninjas they had stored on their deck to dive onto Gloomweaver and finish the job.
mistdrake admits to basically risking the whole game and never the less trying, to put in a PG way. But it was really, really dang cool. Honestly I think they earn a reward or somethin' because goodness they deserve it.
