The Southwest Sentinels, Super Scientific Tachyon, America's Greatest Legacy, Prime Wardens Fanatic, and the Ardent Adept join together to test themselves against the Challenge of the Ennead in Omnitron IV!  Good luck!

I had a good time.  This is a fun team, with lots of power sharing.  Mint.

Mint acquired.

I used every power I had to give Tachyon the chance to experiment on the Sentinels. I missed a LOT (which is surprising considering they have the highest statistics of successful experiments out of anyone else in the game), but being able to play several Sentinels cards per round meant I could whittle away at the Ennead. Argent Adept played support by buffing the damage from Idealist and Writhe, which was the bulk of my splash damage.

Mint.

Basic plan was triple Blocks plus Human Shield to be utterly invincible, pretty much. The rest of the team lays out enough ongoings/equipment naturally to weather the Ancient Magicks without losing your key cards. I experimented on Tachyon rather than the Sentinels, and I feel like it paid off in her big burst-fueled cards. Really, though, this team is ridiculous. Pretty much your only real problem is if you accidently End of Days yourself.

Played a practice match to get the feel of it, and yep, this team is ridiculous; the combination possibilities are endless.  Re: Experiment, 32 out of the 40 cards (80%) in the Sentinels deck are one-shots, so Experimenting on them with SS Tachyon is about as guaranteed a double-card-play as you're going to get.  With the potential to use Experiment 3-4 times a round to fish for Team Communication and Unique Capabilities, you can get out all of their Signatures/Ongoings in no time flat.

UPDATE:  Mint.  The God of Random Seeding was against me, so Experiment didn't work as well on the Sentinels' deck as it did on my practice game, but still no sweat.  Once Human Shield and Sentinels Tactics are out, the Ennead's piddly little instances of 1-3 AOE damage can't hurt the heroes, and all you need to watch out for are Ancient Magicks and Mass Overheating.

P.S.  This team was so ridiculously fun that I used them to take on Challenge Mode Spite and then Challenge Mode Voss.  Again, once Human Shield and Sentinels Tactics came out, neither of them had a chance.  Spite couldn't do any damage, so his Challenge condition (allowing him to heal beyond his base HP) was essentially a nullity.  As for Voss, he has a plethora of minions that all do various kinds of 2-3 AOE damage, so after taking a few hits, the heroes were essentially invulnerable from him.  Flipped him once and then kept killing his minions keeping him from ever flipping again, making his Challenge condition (playing an additional card when he flips) also useless.

I was about to say this was an absolute mugging... but honestly that wouldn't do it justice, as the Ennead was just flat-out murdered by the super-duper-ultra charged Sentinels. Isis managed to come out just as the last of the original five went down, and she lasted all of 3/5ths of the hero turns before she got pounded back into her relic as well!

Guh.

Mint, but maybe it was the one-shot's title getting my hopes up. For a team with this much out-of-turn power usage and card play, I felt like everyone was super-useless. And it's all Fanatic's fault, because she never missed an opportunity to flip End of Days and wipe out all the heroes' stuff, while doing diddly squat to the villains.

It also didn't help that the first experiment on the Sentinels -- y'know, the thing that the one-shot seems to suggest you ought to do -- failed. And then Tachyon got one off on herself before that failed. And it failed on Legacy. And Fanatic. And Argent Adept. It wasn't until the Sentinels shuffled their trash into their deck that I got another Experiment to work, and then it was just one.

As far as I'm concerned, it was the team's healing potential, not anything else, that got me through this game. There's just nothing like watching all your Signatures get armageddon'd away twice in a row...

Mint.

I did what the despcription suggested, and experimented on the Sentinels every chance I got. Between Tachyon, Legacy and Fanatic, that was 3 experiments every round. Sometimes it didn't work, but I'd guess the experiments were successful 3 out of 4 times.

Wow, did it pay off! I had Argent Adept use the Bell to give damage boosts to various Sentinels (always the Idealist) via Syncopated Onslaught. With the addition of Sentinel Tactics, The Idealist turned into a MONSTER. She was practically my sole damage dealer, taking out Egyptian Gods left and right with her ninja robots and positive attitude. Fanatic did a bit of damage, too--primarily with Sacrosanct Martyr.

HP at end:  Medico 13, Writhe 14, Idealist 6, Mainstay 13, Tachyon 24, Legacy 23, Fanatic 10, Arget Adept 20.

I had that happen during my game, luckily I had already put out AA's Cedistic Dissonant the previous turn (anticipating annoying Environment cards) and could play Instrumental Conjuration to get an instrument into play to sacrifice to get rid of it.

I got MINT but it was close. All of my heroes, except for Writhe, were low HP.

But I experimented on Tachyon.

Huh – the mysteries of deck shuffling…  I only ever Experimented on the Sentinels, and only saw one End of Days, which got played via an out-of-turn power usage (from Legacy) for Fanatic.  She proceeded to destroy it on her own subsequent turn with a Consecrated Ground.

Minted. Idealist at 8HP, Legs at 24, and everyone else in between.

I only failed on 2 Experiments on the Sentinels and with 3 Team Communications they were pretty well stacked. All the out of turn powers went to Tach via Legacy to facilitate this.

Did no one else play and use Absolution on round 1? I ask because I drew End of Days rather than putting it into play with her power.

Ended the game with Fling into Darkness followed by Sucker Punch on round 4.

Sloggy mint, here.

I expiramented on the Sentinels and SST about evenly at first, then had a good cycle going with AGL Healing himself and then using Motivational Charge to keep everyone's HP up.  Durasteel chains didn't survive their first turn out, but came out again later.

I had the Enead down to 3 peeps when Fanatic dropped EoD (d'oh).  AA killed off one of the bad guys and then the last 3 came out over the next couple of rounds.  I still won handily, it just took a while.

Mint, with all of the Sentinels but Mainstay at max HP, him at 12, none of the others below 20 despite lots of self-damage.  For a couple of rounds, triple Science on the Sentinels turned them into a murdering machine (especially when Writhe made them attack each other with nemesis bonus), but then I caught all the copies of Sentinel Tactics with it (oops).  Tried to put one back on the deck, but the Ennead messed that up.  In retrospect, double-tanking with Maintstay would have been the more stable scenario.  Then the foolish Ennead decided it would be a good idea to put Tachyon's deck into her trash, and we all know how that goes.  I'm a little rusty and made a ton of stupid mistakes (like Sciencing a deck with one card in it and using Vocalize when I had an instrument out)

oh boy. Minted, but it felt like a clawing fight!

every member of the Ennead flipped up, with the last one flipping up when i thought i was close to winning (the winged Red-head{sorry, i'm TERRIBLE with names} was down to 5 HP, and a fresh person comes in? /sobs)

Fanatic was at 6 Hp by the end, and i was doing everything i could to get her one massive attack (discard 3 cards to do the difference between current and max HP) but alas! couldn't find that one-shot.

kept flubbing with SS Tachyon. guess there's a reason I'm not actually a scientist? LOL

for a little while i was throwing freebie power useage at the Sentinels, thanks to their ongoing for letting an extra power gets used when one deals damage. so there were often times by the end of the hero's turns they had 3 DR.

should probably point out, i dived head-first into this Weekly one-shot with no clue what i was diving into. Probably not the best idea, in hindsight.

Easy Mint with the Sentinels all near max, Fanatic at 14, and everyone else over 20. And that was with Tachyon hitting herself to keep Pushing the Limits out. Mainstay was the star of the show - Human Shield + Sentinel Tactics + Block + passing Idealist powers + Block meant that I could continually nullify just about all the Ennead's damage. Y'know, until Human Shield was destroyed on the last round, but hey, it was the last round.

I had a rough time Experimenting on the Sentinels as well - I missed three out of five attempts. It's all in what you choose in that first turn, apparently, when you get a deck shuffle after playing Unique Capabilities. Or not playing Unique Capabilities, I suppose.  I went with the Durasteel Chains, which promptly got nuked a turn later by the Ennead anyway.

I also had Fanatic play End of Days off the top of her deck, but I thankfully had AA able to pass her a card play to use Consecrated Ground to destroy it before it went off.

After having issues with Experimenting on the Sentinels, I did Tachyon instead to MUCH better effect. She landed three 16+ Lightspeed Barrages and two Sonic Vortexes that hit everything on the board. The Ennead did get Set out, but that was all. Also, I got good use out of Sacrosanct Martyr + Smite the Transgressor - that let Fanatic do 10 damage to one Ennead on her final turn (2, then use base power, then max out SM to deal 8).

Mint.  Fun passing power back and forth between Legacy and Fanatic!  Legacy heals Fanatic, she plays a card, and then lets Legacy Motivational Charge.  Net effect, card play from Fanatic, 1 HP loss to Fanatic, 1 HP gain to everyone, 2+ damage to a single target.

Mint. I basically spent every turn feeding SST power uses and letting the Sentinels just wreck everything. There were only three Experiments that failed (both copies of Human Shield and one Sentinels Tactics), the rest all did huge damage (Blackout is a lot of fun with the Ennead).
