Place to discuss theories on unlocking Termi-Nation Bunker

It's not Win a game against normal Chokepoint with regular Absolute Zero, Bunker, and Unity at The Block.

I just did that without an Unlock.

storyline-wise (from the game files) says Chokepoint came into being after the Freedom Five prevented Dealine from destroying the Earth, and Chokepoint(named Choke at this time) heard a voice from Deadline's weapon. sneaking into the FF's tower, she got the Crystal from the Deadline Weapon, and using it to heal herself and becoming more powerful.

i'll try it tonight, but methinks there may be something here. Either deafeating Deadline first, then fighting Chokepoint with the Freedom Five in the Freedom Tower. Possible theory at least, eh?

Tried beating Chokepoint with 10+ cards from each of AZ/Unity/Bunker in her play area, no dice. Sure was fun though.

finally got to try this tonight, but to no Avail! Bunker had even used his Omni-Cannon to deal the finishing blow to Choke-point. no success unfortunately.

Storywise the 3 bios (from the wiki) also say that the three were defeated by Chokepoint after she defeated the Adamant Sentinels, then they went back in.

So I figure part of it might

Adamant sentinels must be first incapped against chokepoint, then loose with Bunker,Az, and Unity on team. Then back in with some new formula for each of them

I'm guessing (since I dont think we've seen a 'loose 2 games' unlock requirement yet) that it may be

'Loose to Chokepoint with a team of at least the Adamant Sentinels and Bunker. the Adamant Sentinels must be incapped first. Then defeat Chokepoint with a team of Absolute Zero, Bunker, and Unity. During this battle you must use Decomisioned Hardware at least 3 times

(the second part is based off of two things : 1) Choke destroying Bunker armor on her card in Vengeance Blade and the comment from the Podcast and 2) They had to redesigned the suit completely to fight her the second time))

Unsuccessful things for me so far:

- Building up Omni-Cannon and one-shotting Chokepoint

- defeating Chokepoint with at least 1 of each equipment in play

- Using Argent Adept to have Bunker play a card, use a power, and draw a card in the same AA turn

- defeating Chokepoint with no equipment in play

- playing each Mode 3 times in one game

It's a good thing you can easily stunlock Chokepoint with just Visionary and Wraith or Visionary/Tachyon. Makes messing around with her a lot easier.

No Unlock - Grandpa Legacy, Visionary and Bunker in Freedom tower.

Lost to Choke point first.

Then had 1 of all his equipment in play.
Nothing happened.

Recovered his Maintenence Unit from trash.
Nothing happened.

Used 2 Maintenence Units in 1 turn.
Nothing happened.

Got all 3 modes in play. Nothing happened.

Used Gatling Gun, Flack Cannon, Granade Lanucher and Omnicannon in the same turn. (Omni had 5 cards underneath).

Ran out of ideas at that point. Has anyone reported an unlock yet?

Yes, there's been an unlock on Steam.  Same guy who got TN Absolute Zero. There's a screenshot available, check the Steam forums. Bunker is in the last position in a 5-hero game in Omnitron-IV. He's at under 10 HP, and the unlock is occurring off-turn. That's about all I can glean. PseudonymGamer posted a little about his AZ unlock, I assume he'll post about Bunker when he gets the chance.

He also mentioned that he was fighting Cosmic Omnitron.  Looks like Tachyon jusy played Lightspeed barrage which killed Cosmic Omnitron.  Bunker is looking beat up so low HP.

It could be having a lot of equipment and ongoing destroyed and then another hero do the final blow?

No unlock, but I just tried the obvious test of "defeat Cosmic Omnitron in Omnitron IV with Bunker (under 10HP)"

Fought Cosmic Omnitron in Omnitron IV with Legacy, Team Leader Tachyon, Tempest, Bunker and the Sentinels.

Had Bunker under 10 HP (he hit himself with the Omni-Cannon),  and the Sentinels punched Cosmic out.  So it's not quite that straightforward.

Cosmic Omnitron is scary,  but ended up totally under control despite starting the game with two interpolation beams, a railgun and two EPEs.  Legacy started with Heroic Interception, and boy did he intercept those EPEs.  After that there was Take-Down and Writhe managed to stack non-Drones on Omnitron's deck so in the end we just punched him down.

It would make sense that Omnitron and/or Omnitron IV is involved since there is Omnitron tech in the suit? Or was it Omnitron that uses tech from the suit?

From today's Letter's Page,  Chokepoint is fought in Omnitron IV during Termination. Unity and Omnitron-U were there, and I think Bunker was there too.  Cosmitron was long gone at that point.

No unlock. Played against Kismet in Omnitron-IV with PW Argent Adept, Visionary, TL Tachyon, and Bunker. Environment cards ate 10 Bunker equipments and he pulled 10 equipments back out with Decommissioned Hardware. Each equipment was brought back from the trash in this way at least once. Bunker also destroyed his battery pack once to use an extra power. Bunker dealt the final blow.

I played each of Bunker's modes and other one-shots once. Ammo Drop was in play for the entire match.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Ammo Drop went off a minimum of five times. I wasn't keeping notes on that since that wasn't the goal of the run. It went off repeatedly due to destroying Kismet Jinxes, but I don't know exactly how many times.

I have played several games with the team shown in the unlock vs Omni2 in Omni4.

No luck so far. I am trying all sorts of things. I will say that villian/environment combo eats through equipment. I am starting to think that may have something to do with it.

Maybe something like Bunker has more equipment destroyed during the game than he has HP upon the victory.

Just a thought. Anyone see any other reported unlock? Even one more data point would be really helpful.

Won a game with Bunker at 1 hp. So my last theory is wrong.

I posted this on the Unity forum, but the more I think about it the more I like the theory. AZ’s unlock is an extreme mimicking of his variant’s power. Perhaps Bunker is as well. Maybe iy is as simple as win a game where Bunker has destroyed 1 card, played 2 cards, used 2 powers and drawn 2 cards all in one round. There are a number of ways that this could be achieved between axularary power sources and mode cards. Given that for Unity and AZ the environment and villian don’t matter I am guessing that the same is true for Bunker. So I will play around with those conditions tonight.

My last game I tried this kind of thing. One round, I destroyed an Aux Power Unit and Recharge Mode at Start of Turn and put 3 cards under Omni-cannon, played Upgrade Mode and Turret Mode, then used Grenade Launcher, Flak Cannon, and Omni-cannon (12 cards under it by this point), finally discarding a card to keep Gatling Gun in play. I blew up a Villain card in the process and got to draw from Ammo Drop in the process. No unlock. I'll attach my log anyway.

Edit - I suppose that I didn't draw 2 cards in that turn. I believe that I tried blowing up Turret Mode with Tachyon and then having him draw from her power use that same round, though.

Defeated Omnitron in Omnitron-IV with Bunker in the lead position. Bunker did not land the final blow.

Defeated Cosmic Omnitron in Omnitron-IV with Bunker in the last position. Bunker killed Partial Omni-Drone during the match but did not land the final blow on Cosmitron.

No unlock, so it's not quite that simple. I admit my Cosmitron game was a little cheesy, I used the ol' Wrest the Mind / EPE / Throat Jab thing to end it quickly.

Based on the only (?) verified unlock we have so far (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=883759772), here's what we know:

  • The unlock occurs when the villain is defeated, or at least takes a certain amount of damage (Screenshot shows Cosmitron at negative HP, with Tachyon's Lightspeed Barrage still in mid-play.)
  • Bunker does not have to land the (killing) blow
  • Bunker does not have to be in first position
  • Bunker does not need to be incapacitated (hard to tell from screenshot, but his character portrait looks alive and beat up, but not incapacitated)
  • No other heroes need to be incapacitated (all other portraits look conscious as well)
  • The unlock does not play out the Termi-Nation Bunker story from the wiki (http://sentinelswiki.com/index.php?title=Bunker) -- it does not take place at Fort Adamant, the team does not have to be Bunker/Unity/AZ, and the villain does not have to be Chokepoint.

Here's what might be possible, based on the screen shot:

  • Villain might have to be Cosmitron
  • Environment might have to be Omnitron IV
  • Bunker and/or other hero(es) might have to be at low HP.  (In the screen shot, Legacy is at 12 HP, Ra is at 10 HP, TLT is at 10 HP; you can't see Bunker or Expatriette's HP, but his character portrait looks pretty beat-up; <10 HP, by the looks of it.
  • Might have to be a five-character team (although this seems unlikely)
  • A hero *other* than Bunker might have to land the killing/triggering blow
  • Bunker might have to be in last place

And here's just pure guesswork:

  • None of the other two Termi-Nation unlocks involve the story from the wiki at all -- There's no loss to Chokepoint involved, and it doesn't have to involve the AZ/Bunker/Unity team.  So, while it's possible that Bunker's unlock might involve a "setup" loss to Chokepoint first, that seems unlikely.
  • ...however, (and this is much more of a guess) the other two Termi-Nation unlocks *do* appear to involve playing out the heroes' powers/doing a bunch of stuff all in the same turn:
  1. AZ's story from the wiki is something about his powers being sort of amplified and out of control, and his unlock involves taking a bunch (>10HP) of fire damage, dealing a bunch of cold damage, and healing a bunch of HP all in the same turn.
  2. Termi-Nation Unity's power is to destroy a golem, put it back in the deck, move a golem from the trash and draw a card; her unlock appears to require her to do some sort of combination of destroying equipment, playing equipment, playing golems and/or putting golems back in the deck, all in one turn.
  3. If Termi-Nation Bunker follows the same model, then it might involve him approximating his power: Destroy an Ongoing/Equipment, then draw 1, play 1, and use a power -- and then win the game in some capacity.  Plus, Termi-Nation Bunker's power is called "Modulize," so it's not completely crazy to think that unlocking it might involve his Modes, right?

So, here's what I'm going to try:

  1. Just in case, I'll use the same team that the screenshot used (Legacy, TLT, Ra, Dark Watch Expatriette, and Bunker vs. Cosmitron in Omnitron IV)
  2. Start Bunker's turn with (at the very least) Ammo Drop, OmniCannon (with at least one Equipment loaded in it) and Upgrade Mode (play 2 cards in play) in play.
  3. Play one card, then for the second card play, play Turret Mode -- this will (a) "destroy" the first Ongoing, and (b) give Bunker two power uses.
  4. For at least one of the power uses, use the OmniCannon, which will "destroy" an Equipment.
  5. Make sure that one of the power uses also destroys a villain card, which will allow Bunker to draw a card using Ammo Drop.  With this, Bunker will have duplicated his Termi-Nation Bunker power:  In one turn, he'll have destroyed an ongoing *and* an equipment, drew one card, played one card (two, really), and used a power (also two, really).
  6. Win the game.

Hi all, just had a thought based on John’s clue. We (or at least I) have been beating the snot out of Omnitron I & II in Omnitron IV, but I have been neglecting one important thing. Omnitron III or the Omniblade. I think we need a game where bunker is present with victories where I, II & III are destroyed. It may require that the Partial Omni-Drone in Omnitron IV is destroyed. Just throwing that out there.

It's not just

Defeta Omnitron 1, Omnitron II, Omni-Blade, (one of them in Omnitron IV) with Bunker on the team. There's more to it then just that. I think.

Maybe it's in the wording. Is versus Was. Is being that Omnitron is still around so he lost and Was being that Cosmitron is defeated. Maybe you just need to lose a game to Omnitron with Bunker(possibly in the first position) and then win a game with Bunker against Cosmitron in Omnitron-IV.

No luck with my "try to approximate Termi-Nation Bunker's power" attempt:

Heroes:  Legacy, TLT, DV, Parse, Bunker vs. Cosmitron in Omnitron IV

On what I hoped would be the "unlock" turn, all of the heroes were down below 10 HP (trying to replicate the circumstances of the unlock screenshot).  Cosmitron was not flipped, had 23 HP, with one component and the Electro-Pulse Explosive in play.  I don't remember if Partial Omni-Drone ever came out.  Bunker had Ammo Drop, Recharge Mode, Flak Cannon, Grenade Launcher, Heavy Plating, Maintenance Unit, and Omni-Cannon in play (With the exception of the Modes, most of those cards had been in play for several turns, and Bunker had drawn a bunch of cards via Ammo Drop).  Omni-Cannon had six cards under it.   Bunker did not go through his entire deck/reshuffle trash into deck.  On Bunker's turn:

Start of Turn:

Put three more cards under Omni-Cannon

Destroyed Upgrade Mode

Play:

Played Recharge Mode

Played Turret Mode (destroyed Recharge Mode)

Power:

Grenade Launcher (with lots of buffs) -- (1) did 7 dmg to Cosmitron, destroying component and giving Bunker a card draw via Ammo Drop; (2) destroyed Electropulse Explosive, giving Bunker another card draw via Ammo Drop; (3) destroyed Internal Defense Grid.

OmniCannon -- destroyed all of the cards under it, including more Equipments, Ongoings, and One-Shots, killed Cosmitron.

So, in one turn, Bunker:

  1. Had all three Mode cards in play at one point during the turn;
  2. Played two cards
  3. Destroyed a Component
  4. Destroyed two Devices
  5. Destroyed two Ongoings (plus more, if you count the ones under Omni-Cannon);
  6. Destroyed Equipment (at least two; however many were under Omni-Cannon);
  7. Drew two cards
  8. Used two powers
  9. Did a bunch of damage.

Unless there are additional requirements, like Bunker *not* being able to strike the killing blow, or something re: Partial Omni-Drone, or other heroes that have to be on the team, it looks like Bunker doing lots of things in a turn (like Termi-Nation AZ or Termi-Nation Unity's unlocks) is not the answer.

New working theory, based on the Steam forums.  Another person has unlocked it by fighting Omni I in Omni IV, then fighting Omni II in Omni IV.

I think that it might be:

Bunker must be on the team.

Defeat Omni I in Omni IV. The Omni-drone must never enter play.

Defeat omni II in Omni IV. The Omni-drone must never enter play.

Possible additional factors: in the recent unlock, bunker ended each game with a mode card, and with the lowest HP.

used my current working theory that it has to be 2 games.  Omni I and Omni II, both in Omni IV.  The Omni-drone never entered play, which I think is key.

team was: Legacy, Bunker, TL Tachyon, Dark Visionary, RC Wraith

First game, Bunker was in lead position.  Second game, Bunker was in last position.

In each game, Bunker ended in turret mode, and ended with the lowest HP.

Just got the unlock!

Team-Bunker, Legacy, TL Tachyon, Wraith then FF Wraith, and finally D Visionary.

Bunker first on the first round with Omni and Omni IV.

Bunker last on the second round with Omni II and Omni IV.

No Partial Omnis were played.

Bunker dealt fire and projectile damage in both.

Bunker was not the lowest in both, but was below 10hp in both.

Bunker was in turret mode for both at the end. He played turret mode on the last turn and dealt the final blow.

It was a very close call in the last round.

I put my final win screenshot up with the unlocking screenshot as well. We know now that bunker doesn't have to be lowest, but probably low. He can also deal the final blow. If he has to be in turret mode, he doesn't have to be there for long. I was thinking that the first round, he played turret mode on his last turn as well, but he did not deal the final blow.

Tried replicating this and it worked for me too. Beat Omnitron in Omnitron IV with Bunker below 10 HP, in Turret Mode and the lowest HP hero target, and then beat Cosmitron in Omnitron IV, again with Bunker below 10 HP, as the lowest HP hero target and in turret mode. Finished off Cosmitron with an Omni Cannon blast and unlocked Termi-Nation Bunker. In both games, the Omni-Drone never entered play (It was discarded by Rook City Wraith's base power both times).

Unlocked. Beat Omni in Omni-IV, never played a Mode, Bunker in first position, under 10 HP. Beat Omni II in Omni IV, Bunker in last position & under 10 HP, only played one Mode (Recharge) right at the end. Omni-II died to redirected EPE damage.

I had previously done step 2 but not step 1 - my HP was over 10. So, order of games matters and it seems pretty clear he should be under 10 HP in both. I did nothing special otherwise, and believe me I've been trying "special" with this setup.

Forgot to mention my team comp was different for both matches. Bunker/Legacy/KNYFE/Ra in match 1, TL Tachyon / Visionary / Wraith / Bunker in match 2. Team comp and size appears to be irrelevant.

Now, has anyone tried this not in Omnitron-IV, i.e. "Defeat Omnitron with Bunker in the first position and with less than 10 HP, then defeat Omnitron II with Bunker in the last position and below 10 HP"?  Or have we all unlocked it in Omnitron IV?

Other things to verify

  • Does Bunker require to be in first and last position?
  • If Omnitron IV is required, is it required that Omni-Drone not enter play? (I feel like this is doubtful, personally)

I can try getting some games in maybe this weekend, but thought I’d leave some ideas on what I want to try if someone wants to take the lead.

Win a game with bunker with a mode card in play less than 10 HP (lowest of all heroes) against OT I & II in OT IV = unlock for me.

Unlocked here.

Did not have mode cards in play (never played any, actually).

Two different teams,  against Omnitron in Omni IV.  Bunker, Legacy, TLT, Elemental Wrath AZ, Sentinels, then Old LEgacy, SSTach, OmniX, Sentinels, Bunker

Bunker was tied with Tachyon at 3HP the first game, and was lowest at 2HP the second.  Other heroes were under 10 HP though - Idealist was at 4HP and Omni X was at 8.  The Omni reaper came out but was destroyed by Omnitron's Terraforming in th first game,  no Omni-Reaper the second game.

Seems like:

Beat Omnitron in Omni IV with a team with Bunker in first position and under 10 HP, then immediately

Beat Cosmic Omnitron in Omni IV with a team where Bunker is last position and under 10 HP.

may be sufficient to get the unlock.

I did not get an unlock with beating the two Omnitrons with Bunker under 10 HP in Omi IV. Bunker was NOT in first position/last position. I mean, I can try again but at the same time that seems like a really random and arbitrary condition to add to the unlock, especially when it has to be different for each fight.

EDIT: And there's the unlock with first and last position. Weird. Maybe only the second game is required?

The community here and on the Steam forums have discovered the official unlock conditions for Termi-Nation Bunker!

Defeat Omnitron in Omnitron-IV with regular Bunker as the first hero. Then, defeat Cosmic Omnitron in Omnitron-IV with regular Bunker as the last hero. At the end of both games, Bunker must be active and have less than 10 HP.

Funny that the unlock that was the last to be gotten/replicated was the first one we got the exact conditions for.

Now that we know the unlock requirements can some one explain them from a story perspective? They make no sense to me. I don’t see any special relatioship between Bunker and Omnitron mentioned anywhere and never heard anything on the letters pod casts that would remotely lead me to figuring this out.

Look at the incap side of the original version of TermiNation Bunker.  It also got mentioned during the Omnitron Letters Page episode that Omnitron IV used pieces of TermiNation Bunker's suit that got damaged fighting Chokepoint.

Wonderful that yall figured this out. But why oh why did it have to be Omnitron? He's the one "easy" villain I consistently struggle with. Baron Blade, yawn. Ambuscade, training dummy. Gloomweaver, seriously? Looks like its finally time for me to figure out how to beat him. Damn you Sedative Flechettes and Technological Singularity!!

My team

Legacy, KNYFE, TL Tachyon, Wraith and Bunker.

Tachyon can get all the cards and can stop damage

Wraith can deal the damage (with all the boosts) and has decent control

Legacy, well, it's pretty obvious.

KNYFE i chose because her damage and play is pretty intense.

With this team I destroyed Omnitron 1 in a few rounds. Same team took a bit lonegr for Onitron II, but still sucess.

My team, besides Bunker, was TLT, Dark Visionary, Parse, Argent Adept, in that order. Parse can prevent Flechettes or Singularity, Argent does his thing, Tachyon helps as usual, and Visionary helps control things as well as cheese it out with the EPE (I did this both times).

Bunker should focus on spamming his adhesive foam grenades, whittling the boss’s health down, as well as his own; get him below 10, then make sure to end the game STAT.

With this team, it’s a surprisingly easy set of fights.

I used a variation on this – substituted regular Legacy for Argent Adept (for tanking and increased damage), but otherwise the team was the same – with similar results.  Got the unlock in one try.

In theory, at least. I had a game recently where Parse noped the Fletchettes only to replace them with more Fletchettes.

Yeah, sometimes the deck just decides it hates you. Although if you are also using Extra Sensory Perception. You should be able to seriously mitigate the chances of that happening.

I've got worse; trying to get the unlock I had two Buffer Overflows out, and the enivronment played a drone which got Cosmic Omitron started. I sent away Fletchettes to get a fatal EPE, and sent that away to get the OTHER fatal EPE.

That’s what Visionary is for! The EPE is your friend!

Got the unlock. First game was easy with Bunker, Legacy, TLT, Wraith and OX. Second game was same team with OX and Bunker swapped (and cheesing the rewind function with the Infrared Eyepiece).

Ended up having to have Bunker shoot himself a couple times to get under 10 HP in both games.

Not if the EPE is played by the environment turn.

That's why I brought OX – never let Cosmitron flip in the first place.

I had a few bad runs against Omni 2. The worst was Legacy, Fanatic, KNYFE, Tempest, and Bunker. Everything was going well, but we were a little hurt. I finished off Omni 2 with KNYFE's Incidental Contact, but had accidentally healed Bunker to 11 with Cleansing Downpour. The worst is I could have hit Bunker first and gotten the unlock, I just wasn't paying attention.

Got it. Omni I was pretty easy with the team suggested above thanks to Parse denial card eliminating Fletchettes and 3 Critical Multiplers and that environment card that let’s you discard 7 plus cards to destroy it.

Cosmitron though took 2 tries. Couldn’t get Parse’s denial card at all both times and Bunker got taken out by an ill timed Technological Singularity the first time through. Oh how I hate Omnitron.

I'm tellin' ya, OX makes Cosmitron much more manageable. With a decent opening draw, you never have to see his flip side.

Interesting how philosophies differ – with the crew I used (Legacy, TLT, Parse, DV, Bunker), I much prefer Cosmi-tron flipped.  On his regular side, he plays two cards, and it's harder to use Parse/DV effectively to control him.  On his reverse side, I used Legacy to tank his energy damage, and between Parse, DV, and Bunker's Foam Grenades, it was easy to keep both the environment and Cosmi's deck in check to prevent surprises.

Using a strat from above(Bunker, TLTachy, Legacy, Wraith and Knyfe first; then swapped Knyfe out for O-X and had him at the head with Bunker last) I defeated both Omnis handily and got the unlock. I lucked out and got enough foam grenades and grapple hooks to keep the more dangerous enviro cards in line, and the damage boost from Legacy( with early draws of IP) made most everything else manageable. I also only ever got TS once a game, but since I kept my equipments slim I was able to get through it relatively unharmed for the most part. Did so well that I had to punch Bunker down to the appropriate health each time.

Well, a Drone in Omnitron IV causing Cosmitron to play an EPE on the environment turn is definitely one way to NOT unlock this variant...:sigh:

Not sure if this is intended,  but I was able to skip playing a card, and on another turn skip using a power with Termi-Nation Bunker's base power.  I remember there was talk that these might be non-optional steps,  but for now it seems the skip button is there and usable...
