Argent Adept, Freedom Six Bunker, and Tempest vs. Advanced Infinitor in Pike Industrial Complex.

Randomized Start, folks. Means that the only advice you can give is general tips on how to not die as fast.

Fine.   Got it on my third try.  This is brutal.  As far as I can tell, your only prayer for winning is to let Tempest die, and pray that Irridated Cyclohexane Vat comes out quickly, and there aren't any Checmical Explosions to ruin your day.

In my case, AA and Tempest both died, but Bunker managed to play Omni-cannon, Ammo Drop, and Flak Cannon before the Crushing Cages started perma-locking him.  Then I just ignored the manifestations and shot and charged until Infinitor was dead.

The only saving grace to this one is that you'll know the outcome almost instantly.

If you get any crushing cages in the opening Villain turn, you'll likely lose. The damage comes in so fast that losing a turn means that you'll be in trouble, especially since no one has a power that can do anything without cards (or, in Tempest's case, until he flips).

If you get any Ocular swarms in the opening villain turn, you are likely to be in trouble, though a loss is not certain.

If Bunker has no guns in the opening hand, he's likely out of the fight.  A single round of damage from infinitor + Manifestations can easily be in the 10-15 HP range, so not being able to remove any ASAP means that by the time you are set up... you're at 3-4 HP.

If the environment helps you, if you kill Tempest ASAP, If you start with all the right stuff, if the fates align... this one is completely doable.  But it is a nasty, nasty fight.

Cripes, who came up with this? D: Sad to hear the ol' Kill Tempest strategy is the way to go. He was dishing out tons of damage thanks to Cyclohexane and Gene-Bound Shackles. I was able to drop Infinitor below half, I'm pretty sure, but no surprise here, no Mint.

The name of the game is: Foam Grenade, Foam Grenade, Foam Grenade. If you can manage to keep that Cyclohexane Vat in play, you're untouchable.

My first attempt was game over on Infinitor's second turn. I eventually got Fine after about 5 real attempts and 5 resets at initial draws.

“Huh, what’s advanced Infinitor do?”

Looks at card

“WHY WOULD I PLAY THAT.”

Yeah, Infinitor is one of the villains whose difficulty really spikes when you play advanced

I'd say the worst part is that he's consistently flipping every round in the early game. You have to really fight to get yourself set-up enough to control when he flips.

Fine.

Won on my 4th try, when the stars lined up in the right places....

1st try was swift and brutal.

2nd try I got Infinitor down to 30HP--I thought I might win this one, but I was very, very wrong.

3rd try was swift and brutal.

4th try did it. Like others, Tempest went down, Pike changed damage to toxic, Bunker used Adhesive Foam Grenades, then when a glimmer of hope shone its face, he went into turret mode and used extra power uses from incapped AA to finish the job. A Super Cooled Tri-Solvent Vat dealing Damage to Infinitor and not to Bunker helped a lot, too.

Bunker only one standing at 6 HP.

I thanked my lucky stars for Twisted Miscreations, because the environment is far less likely to destroy them than other Manifestations. Their presence kept Infinitor from flipping back to his front side. I wouldn't have survived that.

Near Mint. Kill Tempest. It'll still be a pain in the butt (so many pluses to add up!), but kill Tempest.

Fine. I don't think I've ever used Tempest as a tank before... he actually finished the game at max HP.

What did you do?  How on earth did you manage that?  This game has a ridiculous amount of damage flying around.

Shielding Winds + Otherworldly Resilience + Cleansing Downpour + Elemental Subwave inducer

The Environment was both boosting and reducing damage so any hit for less than 4 damage had a net reduction of 2 and any hit for 4 or more was reduced by 4.  Using Cleansing Downpour twice per round (thanks to AA) Tempest's healing was able to outpace the damage and he was able to slow the damage to other heroes enough to keep them alive.  Late in the game I added Localized Hurricane but with the enivoorment's healing I still took no net damage.

I just can't imagine having time to play all that stuff.  I tried four times, and three times, Tempest was dead before he got a second turn.  On the fourth, which I won, I took a shot with immune Toxic after Tempest died to a Crushing Cage before his second turn, and Cyclohexane Vat came out.  From there, it was trivial, as I had Ammo Drop, which led to multiple Foam Grenades, which led to multiple Vernal Sonatas to bring the Foam Grenades back.  I just sat there passing powers to Bunker while he pinged down Infinitor.

In my first three matches, I was wiped out by the villain's third turn, even when I thought I'd stumbled on a decent start.

AA gave Tempest extra plays the first 2 rounds… took me 5 tries total, the first 4 attempts were just brutal.

Fine on 3rd round.

Man, what this match made me REALLY REALLY REALLY want is a feature that says "Hey look man, I believe you're doing the numbers right, I promise, so if the damage adds up to 0, just don't show it to me.  No fast forward, no real quick, just move on man."

By the end I had 3 Rats, 2 Mutagens, Plasma, Cyclohexane, and both Tri-solvents.  On his front side, watching 6 instances of one damage bounce off umpteen million manifestations, Bunker, and 3 Rats every bloody turn.......god just kill me now.

Seconded.

Also: for my second try: OWWWWWWWW.

AA getting nothing but insturments in hand both tries sure as hell didn't help.

This one has cemented two things in my mind:

  1. I am never playing Advanced Infinitor ever again.

  2. I really dislike the Randomized start One-Shots in general.

4 tries and I still haven’t beaten it.

I seriously thought I was going to mint, actually. Tempest had Shackles and Hailstorm in his opening hand, Bunker had Grenade launcher AND Foam Grenades, and Argent had 2 (yes, 2!) Cadences. Then Infinitor flipped and played nearly his entire deck. Next thing you know only the Adept was standing.

The second time around was a fairly poor start and we went down quickly yet again.

The third time I thought I’d use the Crushing Cages on my incapped Tempest to keep big green from flipping back for a turn or two, but then Cyclohexane came out and they offed themselves.

The 4th time I tried playing defensive and actually lasted 5 rounds before Infinitor (still at 50+ hp) knocked us all down at once.

This is going to be a hard road.
