Santa Guise, Unity, Arent Adept, Mr Fixer and the Scholar vs La Capitan in the Enclave of the Endlings
Santa Guise, Unity, Arent Adept, Mr Fixer and the Scholar vs La Capitan in the Enclave of the Endlings
Pretty fun match… don’t let the start scare you, this one’s not too bad.
This one was hilarious to play, and would have been an absolute nightmare to try and keep straight in an actual non-computer assisted game! Power uses within power uses within power uses within card plays within cardplays is the name of the game, and the end result is downright terrifying for the poor Capitan!
You do NOT want to be on Unity's bad side when she unwraps one shiny golem present after another, and once you chew your way through the Capitan's vast amount of stolen loot, you can pretty much bring her down from 75 to 0 in a single turn, enjoy! :)
But if I never see another Temporal Thief again, I will be happy. On the plus side, fewer crew than normal and you can keep them under control.
Ahhhh! My head hurts! I haven't even played this one for real yet -- just played a few practice matches to get used to the combos. This might be one of my favorite hero teams yet -- the out-of-turn plays within plays within draws within plays....I couldn't keep track of all of them all!
...which brings to mind a feature request. Particularly when things get this complicated -- AA is playing one of several powers, which brings up Proverbs and Axioms, which brings up more options....sometimes you touch that screen once wrong, then have to go back and start the entire chain of events over. In addition to the "go back" screen that lets you choose a certain hero's phase to start over from, might there be a simple "Undo" button, that just undoes the single last action taken?
Mint.
Possibly one of the wildest games I've played. There's a lot going on!
As others have said, it starts out looking bad, but gets better once the presents start being opened.
Somewhere in the midst of opening Aregent Adept's 7 presents, I lost track of things and forgot whose turn it was, who had used what power on this turn, where I was in the many nesting dolls of Arcane Cadences and Silver Shadows…I just kept hitting "choose for me" and hoped for the best.
After all of the chaos, the army of bots chomped La Capitan down to 0HP. All heroes were right around 20HP.
Haven’t done it yet, because I was tired, but this one sounds like a lot of fun!
Breezed through this one. I didn't do any truly epic contests, just ignored La Capitan unless I was hitting multiple targets (Kill the boat first, kill the boat first...)
If that was actually simple, it would be in the game already. However, it's nothing of the sort…
Pity. There are times…
Alas. Thanks for the Christmas present, anyway – this might have been the most fun Weekly One-Shot yet. I'm going to have to play this crew against some of the tougher enemies and see how they fare. The opportunities for out-of-turn shenanigans and super card draws are just too interesting!
If you wanna go really nuts, swap Fixer for Grandpa Legacy. ![]()

the raptors were hungry that day.
very breezy mint. put as much focus on unity as possible since bots can't be easily stolen; use scholar to tank hits directed at them (redirection in hand + in the first 3 guise activations). ripped 67 HP off la capitan in one unity turn.
Easiest mint yet, for me. I think out of all hero targets, Scholar and Cryo-bot were down a couple of HP and everyone else was at max. Temporal Thief looks bad, but this team specializes in attacking multiple times per round. Blatant Reference and a bunch of bots tore down her entire 20 card buffer in a couple of rounds, and the next round took her from 75 to nothing trivially--I finished in the middle of AA's end-turn phase with a Kawaii Barbarian out, plus two Mortal Form to Energies, so more damage was incoming. Two extremely timely Bee Bots and two Grease Guns (one a gift from Guise) prevented nearly all the damage I would have taken.
Minty fresh. That was hilarious.
Yeah, that was great. Guise had a phenomenal last turn, the bots did their thing, and then Argent Adept finished the game with a single sonic damage. :V Marvelous.
Nice Mint. I could never decide when Guise had given out enough gifts. On her last turn, the Captain brought out her whole crew. Unity found that amusing.
Bahahaha! That start had me all flustered, but several rounds of not taking any damage brought my mind back around. I messed up a little when I let Guise give Fixer a high five, but he set back up quickly. Jackhandle+Grease Monkey+Harmony+Bloody Knuckles+Proverbs pretty much clears out the Motley Crew.
Or sub in Hasty Bloody Crowbars.
Unity was able to double-wammy La Cap’s defense cards with Brainstorm, bouncing one hit off Cryobot. But I really knew it was all in the bag when she unwrapped double Pylons after loading up her hand with Raptors.
