Has anyone else noticed that the difficulty of the villains has been rescaled ? Gloomweaver ,Ambuscade and Chokepoint are down to one and Omnitron is up to a 2 . There may be other changes I missed. When did this happen and why with so little fanfare?

Going by the wiki, I think the changed ones are:
Ambuscade: 2 > 1
Chokepoint: 2 > 1
Gloomweaver: 3 > 1
Deadline: 3 > 2
Omnitron 1 > 2
La Capitan 2 > 3
Infinitor 2 > 3
Spite 2 > 3
No changes to heroes that I can see.
Dunno if it's that big a deal, though, since it's more of an informational change than a functional one, though it is nice to have more accurate information.

Wow. I agree with every single one of these. :) (I've had enough well-managed games against Spite recently that I wouldn't call him a 4.)

I think Cosmic Omnitron used to be 2. It is now 3. I also agree with all changes. Did Deadline really used to be 3? Haven't lost to him yet (on normal)...

I had a game against Deadline a while back while taking the Prime Wardens for a spin where I had Sarabande, Siphon, some Conjurations, Augmented Ally, Destructive Response, Scherzo, and a bunch of Fanatic's ping cards in hand within the first few turns. Deadline often could not keep a single Catastrophe out for longer than two seconds, and on the rare occasion I couldn't entirely handle a Unnatural Disaster I generally could keep it limited to a Severed Ley Line.
Conjured up this amusing mental image of Argent reacting to every attempt Deadline made to cause havoc by just nonchalantly whistling up a tune to undo whatever it was. Bonus mental images of the Prime Wardens standing in the background with "go team!" banners and trash talking cheers.
I feel sorry for Gloomweaver, though. Here he is a big bad demon and avatar of Fear but he's been downgraded to a mere newbie hero training scenario.
I kind of question Voss still being a 3, though. He's tough but not that hugely hard. I feel like he's more of a 2.
On the flipside, I feel like Dreamer should maybe get a 4. She's the one villain I consistently have major trouble defeating. Even Cosmic Omnitron is slightly easier to deal with.

Pretty close to the recommendations I made here, though I recommended more extreme changes in some places, and there are a lot of changes I suggested that they didn’t take. Still, it’s a good start.

I agree I'd make Dreamer a 4 and I'd call Voss more of a high 2. The other changes I'd make would be to call Bomber Blade a 2 and Heroic Infinitor a 1. Still these changes are mostly right on the money… I'm very happy with the final outcome.

Yeah, Dreamer is the one villain my live group just cannot beat, and who I basically never willingly play against in the online game. She's definitely a 4.

If I had to make more changes:
Bomber Blade: I agree with bumping down to 2.
Voss: Down to 2, though I agree it may be a little borderline.
Cosmic Omnitron: I feel like I could make a case for it being a 4. I actually find it harder to beat Cosomnitron consistently than I do the Chairman, for instance.
Matriarch: I'm not sure if she's hard so much as she is annoying. Personally the only reason I don't play against her is because she's just beyond annoying in the digital version thanks to all the menus that need clicking through.
The Dreamer: Definitely a 4. It's almost always her flip side that gets me. I usually can muddle through up to that point and then she flips and brings out five zillion more projections and I'm just psychic toast.
Heroic Infinitor: He's kind of an odd case. Before you figure out his "trick" he's hard, but once you do have him figured out he's not too hard to consistently beat. Maybe split the difference as a 2?
Don't have Skin Gloom unlocked yet so I can't weigh in there.

The Dreamer's difficulty depends on how many heroes you're playing with, as does Miss Information - they're both a lot easier if you only have three heroes (which is how I normally play and neither of them tend to give me much difficulty), and likely to completely wreck you if you have five.

Agreed with that last comment.
As for Deadline, I've lost to him a few times, usually due to bad luck. Wins against him are gonna be total, though; he's easy, but definitely not a 1.
Also, speaking from experience: don't ever fight Cosmotron in the Celestial Tribunal. Just trust me.

Yeah, that's a very nasty battle.

Why, because of Terraforming? Or Sedative Flechettes completely wrecking the Representative?

Well… both. But Terraforming is particularly nasty.

I found Cosmic Omnitron's 3 to be pretty accurate. He's definitely harder than base Omni and has 2-3 cards you have to pray don't flip but I've usually been able to beat him. For what it's worth - while you may not *always* want to off the components you can usually smack Omni to do so if you want them gone. He can be tough and an optimal flop will wreck you but I don't fear him like I do Chairman or Kaarga

Based on stats from about 400 games from here http://mindwanderer.net/sotm there is only a 60% win rate against Cosmic Omnitron. That puts Cosmitron between Iron Legacy and the Chairman for normal villains.

Have enough Trials out when he Terraforms and he can play his entire deck, especially on his flip side. Happened at the end of a game that had otherwise been looking like a win for the heroes. D:
