Sentinels Card Database

Hello everybody!

I am uploading a Sentinels database that I painstakingly put together over the course of 12 hours. It is an autofiltered Excel spreadsheet that records every comic, issue number, attributed quote tied to a specific comic issue, first appearances (from bios), and the actual card from which all of this information is retrieved. Because it's autofiltered, you can bring up tons of information with just a simple click. For example, you want to know every single instance of a "Fanatic appearance?" Click and BOOM it's there. You now know every comic (and issue) she appears in based off information from actual cards. You want to see all of the "Mystery Comics" in numerical order, along with who appears in each issue? Click and BOOM it's there. 

A couple of things: 1) the database is current up to the most recent Prime Warden unlock; 2) I deliberately chose not to record environment "quotes" because they are not tied to a specific issue and therefore cannot be used to speculate on chronology; 3) I'm pretty faithful to update the database as new things come out, so I'll do my best to release current versions as time moves forward.

Hope people find this useful. Maybe it can even help with unlocks (since Chris tries to make his unlocks story-driven).

Just to clarify, is Character Appearance the character saying the quote?

Yes. The category "Character Appearance" refers to the one making the statement. The actual quote in question appears in the "Quote" Category.

Now, do you want some of us that have the card game to help complete the rest of the database for you?  I woudn't mind doing a few decks, and I'm sure there's enough of us as willing participants to do the whole thing.

By uploading it I've released it to the community. If anybody wants to take and improve, they're more than welcome to. I've only done the cards released to date on the digital platform because it's significantly cheaper than purchasing all of the physical cards!   If anybody wants to contribute, I'll be sure to recognize their work.

If we can get 4 people together, we only need to do 1 Hero deck (40 cards) and 4 Villain Team decks (20 cards) each (one person only doing 3 Villain Teams)...

Sounds completely doable. There were a few instances where particular cards had generic information or statements that weren't from a specific issue (or maybe they were, but it wasn't mentioned) and so I ignored them. Same with environments. I can keep a running list of those who've contributed and we can credit them accordingly. If somebody finishes a deck, just let me know and I can add them to the list of team members.

I'm still getting a File Not Found error...

Well, I'm going to bite the bullet and claim Knyfe, Ambuscade, Baron Blade, Biomancer and Bugbear.

I'll post the edited file, unsorted in this thread when done. I think that's perhaps the best way to go if we have multiple people working simultaneously.  You can collate and sort them, Rh4psody.

Hmm, hit an interesting conundrum on my third card...  Is there a procedure for sound effects?

I have a card with the quote:

"And that!" *HUFF* "Is the last!" *HUFF* "We'll see o' ye!"

Would you like it with or without the quotes, or should it even be three separate entries?

You can input it exactly as you listed it here in your comment. I actually ran across some things like that a few times and in each case recorded it exactly like it was on the card. There were some instances where two separate people had quotes one one card and that merited two separate entries, one for each person. 

We've seen on the forums that editing a post doesn't show up for everyone so if you are trying to attach the document again or edit what you wrote you are better off making a new post instead.

For some reason, the forum only lets me upload xls, not xlsx, so I had to convert it back to xls, but I doubt anything was lost...

Just checked it out. Great work! I've updated the "Contributor's List" and replaced the previous file with the current one. Since PF Haka has been discovered, I've also entered the info for his first appearance from his new bio entry (Freedom Five Annual #10). 

It's not Excel that's the issue, it's that I keep getting a "the requested page could not be found" issue when trying to view the attachment. Guess I'm the only one having trouble, though…

I was having the issue too, but just now I was able to download it. The issue is not with the file itself, but with a forum bug where a post's edit is not visible to several people, even if others can see it. The edited post now shows it was last edited two hours ago.

I'll just use my previous copy of the file as I can't currently get the one from the OP either, as it seems to have reverted back for me.  We should probably just make new posts each time we want to post a new version of the file.

Alright, so I've edited the opening post again and removed the previous version of the file and replaced it with the most current one involving Jorgenp's contributions. Because some people can't seem to see the edits, I'll upload the most current file in this post as well. Let me know if there's any issues!
