Super easy mint. This was a strong team, with an easy villain, in an easy environment.
Everyone was at about 20, except Setback (of course) but he was at 7, with Silver Lining, and 14 tokens in savings (before I spent 7 on the finishing blow, at least.)
These are some of my favorite heroes, so this was a cakewalk for me.
This was definitely one of my favorite one-shots! And so aptly named!
This one was great. :D Setback went down pretty quickly, but eventually I decided to bring him back by dumping Captain Cosmic's hand (he was down 1 HP himself). That helped get Kismet down within Self-Sabotage range, and Omnitron took the win. Team's vast amount of Ongoing destruction certainly helped. Weirdly, Omnitron never got any Components; in fact, hardly anyone besides Nightmist got set up at all, and all my Timeshifts and Experiments always failed. D: Well, I guess that shows how much of a pushover Kismet is, even on advanced.
Easy Mint.
My game was basically the Tachyon show. CC did a first turn Dynamic Siphon onto her, so she experimented every time there was AE damage, and O-X used his power on her as well. There was one turn where the environment kinda scared me, they summoned Zhu Long, and then he kept killing constructs (they were all low) so he kept playing more cards (including attempting to summon him again), and it brought my whole team into the teens. On the final turn, she played my most hated card (Lady Luck), but she was down to 25 by then, so Karmic Retribution, 2 Plasma Cannons, and a couple of Lightspeed Barrages made short work of her.
P.S. A first turn Shaky Arm onto Nightmist made Investigation hilarious.
Easy mint. Ended with a double Lightspeed Barrage, with a little bit of clean up from Heedless Lash.
Fun game, and a comfortable Mint as expected when I saw how much ongoing destruction was available amongst the featured heroes. If you want a real challenge from Kismet (particularly Advanced Kismet) then going up against her without reliable weapons against her Jinxes really makes a world of difference.
My game had a few scary moments when Zhu Long decided he not only wanted to make a personal appearance, but also that he wanted to play his *entire* freaking deck at the same time (two True Forms wiped out Cosmics' entire armada of constructs!), but in the end, everyone still finished in their 20's, aside from Setback, obviously :)
Easy mint. With all heroes within 2 HP of their max at the end. Kismit increasing her damage by 3 doesn’t help much when she attacks NightMist with her Amulet in play. Also only saw 1 jinx all game and it was destroyed on the first turn.
Life is like a box of fantastic milk chocalate, and I am lactose intolerant.
Beat it with a mint, but it was very frustrating. Lady Luck was the first card she played, and it prevented 10 ongoing destructions before it finally went away.
3 OX Flechettes, 1 blinding speed, and 2 planar banishments were completely stymied by Lady Luck. No destruction. Everything prevented. Meanwhile, experiments fizzled and everything in the world seemed to conspire to hit Setback.
finally, at the midpoint of the game, her luck ran out. Tachyon drew hypersonic after hypersonic. Lady Luck finally fell, and I could get rid of the jinxes crippling setback (who had been getting absolutely pummeled). the combination of 2 left feet and a weak heart made it difficult for him to DO anything until either Kismet's damage was mitigated or the jinxes went away.
the fall of Lady Luck was the turning point. Setback cleared away his jinxes, then used the mysterious ceremonies to cash out 3 times and heal up. We were back in the fight!
we went fully in the offensive. Kismet was mist bound, then hypersoniced, then mist bound again (and then hypersoniced again). We had the eye of the tiger and decided to risk it all on one huge offensive while the luck lasted.
Setback pulled out all the stops with high risk behavior, and used the mysterious ceremonies to pile on the tokens. Captain disrupted everything he had. OX exploded and Tachyon desperately shoveled bursts into the trash to fuel the light speed barrage. Nightmist emptied her hand to keep kismet tangled and redirect everything she could.
After 3 turns of her getting to have her fun, and 4 of us rampaging, we ran out of tricks. But by then she was in the single digits and the exhausted heroes (except for Setback, who was doing great) could let Tachyon get in the final blow with her charged up light speed barrage.
Lady Luck and Imconcievable Obstruction are the two cards in her deck that turn her battles into rougher ones.
Easy Mint.
All heroes ended up at full HP except Setback who had lost one point. Kismet was never a threat and the environment behaved reasonably.
Wanted to try putting a Ninja on Nightmist's deck and revealing for the bad effect of Oblivion, but I killed Kismet before her turn.
Mint.
Dynamic Siphon on Setback was fun. He had High Risk Behavior out, and on one turn I played Cause and Effect for 9 damage, then risked into a Karmic Retribution for another 8. All of Setback's turns were nearly as spectacular. Guess he was "lucky" today!
The environment played the two resurrecting cards...so it really was a null environment, until the end, when the true form came out via Zhu Long's card. When Zhu Long hit the Siphon, Setback risked into a damaging card. Then, the True Form destroyed a construct, triggering an environment card play which was Mysterious Ceremonies. Setback chose to play another Karmic Retribution from the Ceremony, and ended the game.
All heroes in high teens except Omnitron-X, who was not scratched. Most damage taken was self-damage (Setback, Pushing the Limits, Nightmist). Captain Cosmic got hit by the True Form at the end, otherwise he would have been near full health, too.
The game went 3 rounds, I think? Maybe 4.
I liked this challenge, though it was easy, it still required some thought/guessing. Also, in light of the recent dark watch unlock frustration that NEARLY drove me mad, this was a nice breath of fresh air.
Okay, so what do you need to do to get mint? I thought you just needed to beat it in your first game, but I did and got near-mint. Is there a no-rewind rule, perhaps? In any case, I kept both of the mysterious ceremonies in play, at first to power nightmist, but shortly thereafter, setback. I then played both high risk behaviors under the protection of hypersonic assault and smashed her face with Looking Up, Cause and Effect, and Plucky Break. Setback basically killed her by himself.
Mint, barely.
I made the mistake of flipping The Talisman, and then she played Karmic Disjunction. Two Immanent Distructions came out and an Unlucky Break. Left with only Omnitron and Tachyon. I just about held on for the win thanks to Super Scientific Tachyon being really smart, and very lucky. Omnitron-X left on 3, Tachyon 8.
It was fun though.
If you rewind in your first game you forfeit Mint and there is a warning on the rewind screen about it.
I totally missed that. Is it a poupup warning, or just like a note presented along with your rewind options?
It shows up when you bring the rewind screen up during an attempt at mint
Easy mint. Setback had a ton of tokens with high risk behavior and looking up. He ended with 4 hp and a silver lining waiting. I'm new to Setback, but he is a beast!
All the other heroes had 17 or higher hp.
I do like the random setup games.
Relatively easy mint. I had Looking up in Setback's initial draw, so that gave me a reliable damage source and a good source of unlucky tokens to fuel his other cards. Omni got both heal beams out on the first turn, then alternated between playing cards for Setback and Tachyon. Nightmist contributed a Mistbound and banished a couple jinxes. Did not get much help from Cosmic.
Minted here.
Kismet played 5 Jinxes via Karmic Disjunction on her first turn, but they were all gone (one was a One-shot) before the next time she acted.
The Temple played Mysterious Ceremonies on its first go, then on the second it played the other 2 Ceremonies and the Master, but I used a Play off of Ceremonies to take down the Master so I never saw True Form. I tried to set up Kismet for the Assassin on Nightmist’s turn, but I forgot I had a Dynamic Syphon at 2 HP so Setback drew 3 cards and then Ceremoniously Reckless Rushed her.
Easy mint. The only time anyone was in slight danger was the one hit she got on her flipped side and clobbered Omnitron, busting his Component. Setback got Looking Up out early and Karmic Retributioned her to finish things off.
