This card seems to be working a little off.
I've played it twice, once with 4 players, once with 5.
With 5 players, Guise only gained 1 hp. With 4, he only gained 2 hp. Both times he had under 20 hp.
As you discard the top card of every deck, the minimum HP gain (unless you're near max hp) should be 3. With no incapped characters, the HP Gains should be 2+(H). Unless i'm missing something.
Is anyone else having this issue?
You only gain health for targets that got discarded. Often why it's use is limited. It's much better in games with target rich environment or villain decks

Looks like i've been playing this card wrong the whole time...

Yeah, I had a guy, new to the game, play Guise because he loved Deadpool and played that card. Apparently "Target" means something different in the card games he was used to, so he was disappointed when he played it and got 0 HP back.
From what I can tell, best use of it is against The Matriarch, in the Final Wasteland, with a team of Unity and Captain Cosmic (and maybe Visionary).
Or in Realm of Discord while Imbued Vitality is out.
Do not play it against The Ennead!
Oh come on it adds more excitement!
I've used Gimmicky Character against the Ennead so that they would deal Guise damage so he could draw cards from Gritty Reboot. That game was a bit desperate.
Yeah the most you can gain from it is 5. Only Visionary, Unity, and Cosmic have targets in their decks. Add the 2 from villain and enviro and that makes the 5.
Unless I'm missing a hero...

That's what I was counting on for my calculation.
Most of the time though you'll get one to two health.
