Advanced Ambuscade vs. Unity, The Wraith, and Haka in The Block with yet another randomized start.
This was a very easy one-shot for me, though your mileage will vary with randomized start. For me, Wraith and Haka started with probably the best starts: Wraith had an Impromptu Invention, Razor Ordnance, Throwing Knives, and Utility Belt, while Haka started with three(!!!) Hakas of Battle and a Taiaha. Unity's start was slightly less than good, but I managed to get a highly-utilized Stealth Bot and Raptor Bot into play over the course of the game, which only lasted five rounds. The Personal Cloaking Device never entered play, mostly due to deck manipulation via Infrared Eyepiece, and speaking of the Eyepiece, its draws gave me two more Impromptu Inventions by Wraith's second turn. In short, I think I had almost the luckiest start I've had in any randomized start to this point.
Suffice it to say this was a Mint for me.

Rough start for me with the Reactive Plating. By the time I got rid of that he vanished and then after all that my army of bots took him out.

I got mint with one of the worst possible starts: 2 (TWO!) Reactive Platings.... But i was lucky with the Warden on my side. No Micro-Computer, just bots, and Savage Mana.
Still, everyone in single digits.

Bone headed mistake mars otherwise excellent play!
Early in the morning of the 7th of June there was an attempted break in at the maximum security prision knows as The Block.
While entry to this maximum security prision is heavily guarded, this reporter spotted the heroes leaving the facility and overheard an arguement between The Wraith and Unity, centering on The Wraith's "misclicking" and accidentally producing a Micro-Targeting Computer with her Impromtu Invention when she meant to find her Throwing Knives. Not only did The Wraith then compound this mistake by drawing more Micro-Targeting Computers for the next 2 turns but she also refused to allow Unity to destroy it to produce more bots.
In spite of this mistake the heroes won the day with barely a scratch, largely thanks to Haka who rampaged across the field of battle at a key moment and denied the unnamed villain access to their most precious technology by standing on it.
An unnamed source from within The Block itself confirmed that the Guards themselves were out in force, quickly forcing the facility into Lockdown and deploying their new Defensive Displacement field but declined to comment on rumours that they blundered into Mines and spent most of their time beating on Unity's bots.
Several celebreties were quick to react to the event praising the actions of the superheroes, but others were more critical of The Block facility itself. Well-known film star Ansel Goddard Moreau released a statement through his publicist stating "We know next-to-nothing about The Block, and yet some of the world's most deadly criminals are kept there. The world has a right to know how the prisoners are handled inside those walls, The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons."

I always feel like an idiot when I lose to Ambuscade, even on advanced. ._. Near Mint
Let it be said I had an easier time with the double-plating start than without. Because the first time, he didn't bring any platings out until after Wraith and Haka had fallen to the explosives launcher, and the bots just couldn't chip away at it fast enough. It was the environment that took me out in that game, though, whereas in the second, all I had to worry about was Stun Bolting Char a couple of times to keep him under control.

How did I only today think to use Haka's Savage Mana to eat his cloaking field? Really, Bowie? Really?
/sigh
Anyway! Had a breeze of a time. He never flipped again, and we all just wailed on him nonstop pretty effectively. Wraith kept tanking the Highest HP hits and the bots kept dying to the Lowest HP hits rather than the heroes, and we just carved hi mapart. Was really one of the easiest I've done so far.

Mint.
Ambuscade started cloaked, but otherwise did not threaten at all throughout the game....until the last turn. Wraith's turn one Infrared Eyepiece kept the Reactive Platings from entering play.
On Ambuscade's last turn, he Ran and Gunned a couple of times, exposing a couple of his traps and bringing out his Explosive Launcher. So that brought the team down into the low teens of HP. Thankfully, Stealth Bot protected most of the bots.
After that, Haka used Haka of Battle with the giant hand of cards he had built up from an early Dominion (the Block cards constantly destroying each other made Haka fat and happy). Haka then Crushed poor Ansel to dust.

Mint for me. I got one of those rare SUPERLUCKY starts where everything was just dropped in my lap.
Saw every device except cloaking so while it was a rough start, overall that was helpful. Also helpful was Haka starting with Punish the Weak, Rampage, and Taiha in hand, Wraith with Razor Ordinance, Micro-targeting Computer, Utility Belt, and Smoke Bombs, and Unity with 2 Pylons, 1 Raptor and a Hasty Augmentation. Brain Burn doesn't do damage in advanced but was still good for pulling out 2 bots.
Our heroes cleared the board on round 2, and Ambuscade never recovered.
I still haven't unlocked Omnitron-U though. Next!

Mint, and another lucky match. Amby started with Reactive Plating and a Handgun, but never really chained into much damage. His Charged Attacks were easily dealt with, and he didn't vanish until very late in the game, when his board was wiped and the heroes fully set up. Wraith got 3 grappling hooks, but started with Throwing Knives and an Impromptu MicroTargeting Computer. Unity had lots of bots, slow and steady, and a few Hasty Augmentations that dealt lots of damage. Haka had Taiha, and Punished the Weak with it.

Mint.
I kind of left The Block alone as I never saw Char or the Time Crazed Prisoner. Ambuscade started with Reactive Platings, and kept on drawing Charged Attacks which was a pain. I chipped Ambuscase down to 20Hp then unleashed Haka of Battle into Savage Mana for the win. Everyone ended in single digits, but I always felt in control.
Strangely though, I got an Omnitron-U unlock message when I finished the game. I had already gotten the unlock, so a little surprised. Am wondering that if you complete all three one-shots, it is another way of getting the variant.

Definitely not. I've minted all three, and have not unlocked Omni-U

I did all three parts on Steam last night, and nothing happened. As it happened on my iPad, I'm guessing that Game Center was playing tricks on me again.

I think the one-shots are just scenarios that can allow you to unlock the variant if you follow the other rules. A framework, if you will.

Mint, if barely. Double reactive plating, and the cloaking device. Had to take that out before even trying to get unity set up, and by then two time crazed prisoners showed

Mint, but barely.
All heroes under 5 hp, but no incapps. Charged attacks going off at the wrong moment caused a cascade that hurt everyone.

Poor Ancel. I don't think I've ever had a game against him I was in danger of losing, and Advance didn't make much difference. Wraith had an Impromptu Invention out first round, so Ambuscade had no surprises. Unity didn't start with any bots so just had to draw for a few rounds, but she got going soon enough. Haka reaped the benefits of three Dominions as the guards and inmates whacked one another, then finished with a 28-HP Crush.
The only real difficulty was that he got his cloaking device out first turn, so Wraith got whacked a couple times before I could dispose of it. But it gave us some time to get rid of his plating, so it turned out for the best anyway.
