The hunt begins here!
The hunt begins here!
First try, I followed the idea of "Omnitron-X incapacitates Omnitron via Self-Sabotage, then is incapacitated himself before the heroes win (i.e., there needs to be at least one other Device in play). Unity must be on the team." Didn't work.
Notably, Omni-X played all his components before unleashing Self-Sabotage. (It's worth noting that Twist the Ether on him was a huge help in making sure he didn't kill everything too fast.) Unity beat him to death with her bots. I was playing in Enclave of the Endlings. Omni was last in the team order.
Current thought, though it would be unprecedented, is that it might be necessary to use Omni-X's incapacitated power on Unity, maybe letting her get a bot into play before victory?
I predict that it will take longer to figure this out than it took before Bunker was revealed.
It might be possible that this will require the Omnitron IV environment...
The story challenge for Omnitron-U can be completed with the content currently available in the game.
They wouldn't do that to us.
Edit: Although they would post before us, making our posts somewhat obsolete
So, here's a question where an "official" answer might be useful:
For unlocks (in general), do steps completed before the unlock is in the game count?
So, if step 1 in getting an unlock is "beat Spite in the living room with a candlestick", and you did that six months ago (way before the unlock was in the game), would that count? Or do you have to complete all requisite steps fresh once the unlock challenge is in the game?
I'm asking because I suspect that we might get quite a few false positives on the road to the truth, given that OX, Unity, and Omnitron have all been in the game for a while, with plenty of opportunity to fulfill any theoretical first step that involves them!
They have required you do the steps since they became available in the past. This is the only one that didn't come with a major release though.
No, no, yes.
Added a note about turn order. Someone brought that up last night.
Interesting! Thank you!
Just a side note, but in Omnitron-U's story, didn't Omnitron-X die after COSMIC Omnitron went down? I'm trying to remember the order.
Edit: Think I'm wrong actually, but someone over on the Steam forums does have a screenshot of an unlock.
Cosmitron's Bio states that Omnitron was defeated by the F5, so it seems like OX sacrificed himself to defeat Cosmitron. Though there is probably room for interpretation, what with time travel shenanigans.
my steps tonight will be:
Defeat Omnitron with the F5 in megalopolis
Defeat Cosmitron with OX in lead position, using Self Sacrifice.
(If no unlock)
Defeat Miss Information with Unity in lead position, with Tachyon, Wraith, and Bunker. I choose Miss Information because she's the closest I can approximate to Freedom Tower with.
My impression was that he sacrifices himself to destroy Omnitron. My guess is, you have to use Singularity or Self-Sabotage to damage Omnitron, or have OX get taken out by Technological Singularity. Or maybe win a game against Omnitron where all three of those cards get played?
I wonder if Tachyon is involved somehow. It isn't stated that she helped rebuild O-X, in fact she didn't even find it a worthwhile endeavor. But perhaps she's also required in the team setup in the theoretical third step.
the Omnitron fight keeps going after the boss is defeated as long as there are still drones in play. maybe something like: OmniX self-destructs to kill the boss, then the drones finish OmniX, then the remaining heroes clean up for a victory…? complicated stuff.
The unlock picture did NOT include Tachyon. My guess is that due to her fears about the project, she would need to NOT be there for the 3rd step.
Didn't the unlock show Ra, and no sign of Omnitron-X? Or, at least, the one I saw on Twitter did.
Did somebody unlock it already??
Matchstickman posted his unlock screen on Steam
Correct. We're assuming that the O-X portion happened in a previous game, and only the Unity portion happened in the shown game.
If somebody could provide a link to the screen in question, or a description of it? Thanks.

Any hints or comments about your unlock Matchstickman?
Matchstickman is an alpha tester, and is beholden to keep the secrets he has access to =)
Yeah, it wasn't meant to be a "Look what I done!", I just always press the share button when I get an unlock. Sorry guys.
Often I forget about him being an alpha tester
OK, so possible things of importance from the image:
Edit:
Thoughts:
From OX's deck, 'Reset' is from FFA#30 (the one we're getting with oblivaeon!). The incap of O-U seems to depict that event.
Defensive Blast features Aeon men in the art. Clearly part of the Oblivaeon event. Perhaps happened concurrently with Reset.
Self Sabotage and Singularity feature very similar art. Could they be part of the same event? (Despite flavour text coming from different issues).
We already had to play through the canon death of original omnitron just to unclock cosmitron, so that's probably not part of the unlock.
idea:
Win a game with Omnitron-X vs Cosmitron.
In that game, Omnitron must play Singularity and Self Sabotage on the same turn, to kill Cosmitron, but not win the game.
Omnitron must be incapacitated to damage done by a villain device.
In a subsequent game, Unity must play Robot reclamation (perhaps more than once).
More steps???
Actually, Self-Sabotage and Singularity are from the same issue, "Singularity #8." Self-Sabotage is said by OX, while Singularity's is by Fanatic. I take this to mean that he self-destructed, since she's talking about him in the past tense.
Well, so far I've tried beating Omnitron with Omnitron-X incapped. I've beat Omnitron with Omnitron-X in the lead position and played both Self Sabotage and Singularity in the same game (and Singularity resulted in the win). From there, I've played a game against Baron Blade WITH Unity and WITHOUT Tachyon (or any member of the Freedom Five) and in that game, I got out all 5 F5 bots (at the same time) AND managed to play every single one of her cards once.
No unlock.
Edit: Btw, I've thought about mentioning this before, but I guess that here is as good a place as any. It would be really awesome if we got some sort of alert or pop-up or something to indicate that we had completed part of a multi-part unlock. For instance, we all feel fairly confident that the first part will involve some combination of beating Omnitron and O-X dying or at least playing Singularity/Self Sabotage, but we don't even know if we've done the right thing until we try some rando second game and do or don't get the unlock. It'd be awesome to get something that says "Part 1 of the unlock for <whatever> completed!" It might also be nice to have it say part 1 of 3 (or whatever), but just something to let us know we've done SOMETHING relevant would be great.
Do we have precedence where the unlock of a variant requires a card from another expansion? Because wouldn’t that lock out people who don’t have all expansions from performing the unlock?
For example, if Unity is involved in the unlock of Omni-U, players who has Shattered Timelines but do not have Mini Pack 1 wouldn’t be able to do the unlock.
Base game is the exception for obvious reasons.
So perhaps that screenshot from Matchstickman has to do with defeating (any?) villain while also destroying a certain number of Devices during the game.
Yes. Spite: Agent of Gloom requires Gloomweaver from Infernal Relics. Skinwalker Gloomweaver requires Spite and Rook City from Rook City. America's Greatest Legacy requires Ambuscade and Silver Gulch from Mini Pack 1. Dark Visionary requires Gloomweaver from Infernal Relics. The Eternal Haka requires The Final Wasteland from Mini Pack 2. Redeemer Fanatic requires Apostate from Infernal Relics. Ra: Horus of Two Horizons requires The Ennead from Infernal Relics. The Scholar of the Infinite requires either Gloomweaver or Apostate from Infernal Relics. The Freedom Six heroes require Iron Legacy from Shattered Timelines, and The Wraith: Price of Freedom further requires The Chairman from Rook City.
Ooh damn. I should have done my homework before posting!
OK... Some things that didn't work. It's possible that some of these are what needs to happen, but I did them out of order.
1. Defeated Omnitron (Megalopolis) with OX, using Self sacrifice. No drones or devices were left, no incapped heroes
2. Defeated Cosmitron (Wagner Mars Base). Singularity and Self Sacrifice used in same turn to defeat Cosmitron.
3. Defeated Baron Blade. During the fight, Unity used Robot Reclamation 3x times, inspired repair 3x times. She also had all F5 bots out.
next test:
defeat Omnitron with OX
Lose to Cosmitron with OX
defeat Baron blade with unity on the team, all bots in the trash.
I doubt that there is any need to do anything with base omnitron. It was canonically defeated quite early, I believe, before OX arrived.
could be wrong
Card art for Gaussian Coil Blaster has OmX hitting base Omnitron. So, OmX was involved in fighting regular omnitron at some point.
Good catch, that does appear to be normal Omnitron.
Played against Blade on Pike Industrial. Unity was on the team. Had all the effects of every card in her deck happen at least once, no unlock.
Can someone remind me how to snag logs so I can review em in more detail?
EDIT: This was after I played pretty much every match possible with Omni-X in lead vs Omni, where X lost, won, played Sabotage, Singularity, finished him, didn't finish. incapped...
For Steam, the log files for your two most recent matches are located in:
C:\Users<your PC username>\AppData\LocalLow\Handelabra Games Inc_\Sentinels
Cheers.
Also, people on Steam discussions are saying Omni X needs to incap himself with Self Sabotage against Omni in game 1, and in game 2 needs Unity to play all her equipment once and have at least one bot out. Trying that now...
EDIT: Nope.
Things to try next:
1. Defeat Omnitron with OX in the lead position.
Omnitron must play: Technological Singularity.
OX must: incap itself using self-sabotage.
2. Defeat any villain with Unity on the team.
Unity must have: each equipment type in play.
Unity must have: Each Type of Golem in play.
Thematically I see this as Omnitron almost managing to take over OX's programming, and OX blowing up to prevent Omnitron from gaining future tech.
I'm guessing on the Unity one, but having lots of equipment and different Golems seems like it would make sense.
If that's true, the second game might also require not having Omni-X, since he's supposed to ded. :B
Just got mine.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/333qyt25z8qw6lc/Omnitron-U.png?dl=0
Not 100% what was or wasn't accomplished, but here's my running theory.
Beat Cosmitron with O-X in lead position. Unity must be on the team, O-X must be the only incapacitated hero (He killed himself with Self-Sabotage, not sure if that's required, but could be).
Then, beat someone that uses Devices (Baron Blade/Ambuscade). Unity must be on the team, O-X and Tachyon must not be. Win the game with Unity having one of every equipment in play. Probably need to play Robot Reclamation and Inspired Repair at least once each.
Might be some additional requirement about number of devices destroyed or in trash, but not sure.
The hard equipments to remember are Spare Parts, Supply Crate, and Pylons, since they destroy themselves on use.
Got it! After fighting Cosmitron with Omni X incapped (NOT BY SABOTAGE), won a game with Unity playing and all her equipment in play! :D

I had already beaten Cosmic Omnitron with Omnitron-X incapped and in the first position.
Then beat Baron Blade in Insula Primalis with a team of Visionary, Argent Adept, Unity, Ra and Tempest. Unity had one of each of her equipment in play. No Unlock. I didn't play either Robot Reclamation nor Inspired Repair.
Repeated the Baron Blade game a second time. Unity had all of her equipment in play and had played both Robot Reclamation and Inspired Repair. No Unlock.
Was Unity on the team that beat Cosmic Omnitron?
Was sabotage or singularity played at all?
No. Tomorrow morning (my time for bed) I'll repeat the process, this time I'll put Unity in the team that fights Cosmic Omnitron. I'll probably swap Baron Blade for Ambuscade, as Ambuscade has less/no equipment destruction.
Yup. Only 5 components though. Hit Omni X, but DID NOT incap him.
She was
I want to see testing with non-Device-having villains, just in case it could be anyone.
A guy in the Steam forums got it on Gloomweaver, but no screenshot.
This morning I defeated Cosmic Omnitron with Omnitron-X incapped and Unity on the team. I didn't see or play singularity or self sabotage.
Then Unity defeated Ambuscade in Insula Primalis with all of her equipment in play no unlock. Then I tried it with all of her equipment and after playing all of her one shots. Still no unlock.
Will probably try again, with either singularity and self sabotage played.
On a slightly different topic.
Just had Electro-pulse explosive hit with 2HP, and it took out a Bee Bot first which took it down to 0. After it's destruction, the Electro-pulse explosive unit then hit everything else for 15.
I'm hoping that it is just an undocumented feature...
Are you sure there wasn't another Electro-Pulse Explosive?
If so, please send us a bug report with screenshots: http://handelabra.com/contact
I'm almost cetain, I tried to replicate with 1HP and it worked as normal. If I find it again I'll let you know.
But anyway. I beat Cosmic Omnitron with both Omnitron-X and Unity on the team. Omnitron-X was the only hero incapped after playing both Singularity and Self Sabotage (but not for much damage).
Afterwards, I beat Ambuscade with the team of Visionary, Argent Adept, Unity, Ra and Tempest at Insula Primalis. In four games:
All 5 equipment out: No Unlock
All 5 equipment out & Robot Reclamation played: No Unlock
All 5 equipment out & Inspired Repair played: No Unlock
All 5 equipment out & You name it, I played that oneshot: No Unlock
Me thinks I'm going down the wrong route. A random musing off the top of my head, I tended to only have in play one of each type of equipment in play, but generally used Argent Adept to get Unity playing her bots rather than using her equipment.
I'd second my approval of some kind of progress bar towards an unlock, especially for these multistep ones. You could even have a short story blurb about what just happened... Like for Fixer, when you unlocked him it could be something like:
Fixer had given his all, but in the end, the Student had become the Master. Now, hovering between life and death, he would be brought before the Dragon...
Obviously, for 1 step heroes, it would be mostly flavor text that hinted at what you did. But it would be a lifesaver for the multistep ones where you never know if you did the first step right or not, as well as providing a vital clue as to the next step.
Seems more fun than poring through Steam game logs trying to reconstruct the "Correct" path, anyway.
On to Omnitron-U!
my latest guess as to the Unity portion has to do with the number of Bots she has out at the end. I'm thinking it might be necessary for her to have only a few- I keep ending with a swarm which kills the villain, along with all of her equipment. Maybe you need to have fewer than (H) bots out? Not sure. Will test.
I think that Unity actually using her power to put out bots(no outside help other than maybe her getting a free equipment in play or a free power usage) is another key element to it.
I played a game where Unity played 15 bots on her own, I kept on recycling Construction Pylon, she ended the game with 8 in play. No Unlock. Then afterwards, ended the game with No bots in play.
If there are two steps to this, I don't think I've got the first.
On the last attempt of the weekend (I really need to some ironing) I first beat Cosmic Omnitron at The Block with a team of Omnitron-X, Unity, Ra and The Scholar. Omnitron-X played each of his cards once and was the only one incapped at the end of the game. Then beat Ambuscade at The Enclave of the Endlings with a team of Visionary, Argent Adept, Unity, Ra and Tempest. Unity had two copies of each of her Equipment cards in play and had played Robot Reclaimation twice (for a total of 5 bots) as well as Inspired Repair once. She ended up with a total of 22 cards in play.
Still no unlock.
I have a rather desperate and looney theory. I haven't unlocked all of the other Variants yet, and I'm beginning to wonder if that is an issue. Actually, I'm thinking that there may be a second precondition. At this point I'm overthinking this, so I'm going to leave this to the experts.
After many, many games, I finally got Omnitron U.
Here is what I think is necessary:
1. Defeat Omnitron. OX and Unity must be on the team.
2. Defeat Cosmitron. OX and Unity must be in the team. OX must be incapped by a hero. Self Sabotage must be played. Tachyon must NOT be in the team
3. Defeat any villain with Unity on the team. Unity must draw at least 30 cards. Unity must use Bot Hack on Volatile parts to put a golem into play.
Wow. That sounds really convoluted.
1 is already a prerec to get Cosmitron, right? So it would already have been done before 2 could happen, anyway?
Curious: Why "by a hero" on #2?
You don't need to defeat Omnitron with O-X or Unity to get Cosmitron. The requirements for getting Cosmitron are:
So, this is one of the reasons I asked MigrantP about boundary conditions earlier. In a nutshell, things that you do before an unlock is created have absolutely no bearing on progress towards that unlock.
In other words, if (months from now) we get a variant where step 1 is "Defeat Baron Blade"... Then it won't matter if you defeated him a long time ago when the game came out. You'll need to do it again to "count" towards the Unlock.
As for why I think OmniX needs to be incapped through hero damage, it's canon that it sacrificed itself for the greater good, and (as far as I can tell) all of the data on the steam forums and here suggests that it NEEDS to be incapped, and that it involves being incapped by itself or possibly a hero. I'm not dead certain that the incap has to be the result of Self Sabotage, though, as it seems like there have been others where Omni X was eaten by golems or killed using reactive plating.
This is one of the reasons I would LOVE some sort of progress marker with hints. I played about 20 games, with a lot of variations on "Omni X does a thing, is incapped, Unity does a thing", and I have no idea where in there I fulfilled the requisite steps. At the moment, the best way to get an idea of how to actually unlock Omni-U is to pore through other people's posted game logs and read the analyses of same on the steam forums. I'd be a lot happier playing games and trying out new variables if I had some kind of feedback from the game about how far Id gotten, or if I'd gotten a step right.
Without that kind of feedback, it's intensely frustrating... Particularly when someone else gets the unlock and you are left wondering what they did that you somehow missed.
Send feedback through the Handelabra site or through game about it. I certainly see that having value.
Part of me says that's the whole point of collaborative unlocks. The rest of me thinks about the fiasco that was EoW Bunker and heartily encourages the feature.
Best way to implement it: allow it to be switched off for those who prefer to go in completely blind.
I'll be sending this to Handelabra (unless MigrantP chimes in at some point, since I know he reads these), but one of the reasons that I think that this kind of feaure is getting more and necessary is because:
1. Unlocks aren't necessarily going to become more complicated as time goes on- but we're steadily getting more and more content, which increases the variables. Even in cases where we have some idea about what needs to be done, by the time Oblivaeon rolls around, we'll have LOTS more villain and team configurations, and the addition of the V5 style stuff is just going to ratchet up that kind of complexity. I can easily see how an unlock could involve having multiple villains and multiple heroes with the V5 style, all opf which have mini-nemeses within their decks that could ALSO be a factor...
2. There is always an initial spate of interest when a new variant comes out. Theres a brief flurry of activity, then it trails off as more and more of the people who are inclined to try variation after variation get the unlock. Once they get it, some still compile data, but you can't do nearly as much to pinpoint a solution once you've stumbled into it. Its kind of hard to do further experimentation once you've unlocked a variant, since the only way to actually know that you've done the job is for that variant to pop up. So unless you've got the game on more than one platform, then theres no way to collect any additional data.
3. I can't emphasize how frustrating it is to do something over and over with absolutely no knowledge if you are accomplishing anything. This is a VERY subjective thing, as I know that for some people, doing things over and over just means amassing more and more data about what DIDN'T work. Those people are spectacular human beings. They can probably play the Argent Adept really well, or take immense satisfaction in spending an entire game soaking up damage with Bunker in recharge mode with a heavy plating.
I am not one of those people.
It's a good idea, but I have to tell you it would not be a high priority for us compared to other content & features. Especially since you can simply shortcut your personal frustration by using the unlock button.
I know that this isn't a high priority, and in the grand scheme of things I'd much rather have more content (heroes, villains, etc), and bug fixes. But my options are to say nothing, and nothing will be done, or to talk about it and hope that eventually something akin to this might be implemented.
I don't like the unlock button. I know it exists, but however frustrating it might be, I'd rather take my time and figure it out (or wait for someone else to do so). I don't think that invalidates my opinion (and I don't think you meant it in that way).
Definitely not! Your opinion is valid and the feature request is on our (admittedly quite long) list.
Thank you!
I'm afraid that's not the case. I've played three games since Omnitron U came out, meeting exactly those conditions. No unlock. Maybe you have to use Bot Hack on a certain number of different types of equipment?
I'm beginning to think that there is some crucial interplay between OX and Unity that we are missing. Maybe...
1. Defeat Cosmitron. OX must be in the lead position and Unity must be on the team.
OX must: use time shift on Unity to put a bot into play.
OX must: use self-sabotage to deal damage to itself
OX must: be incapped.
Unity must: use Bot Hack one one of OX's equipments.
Unity must: use Hasty Augmentation on OX
2. Defeat any villain. Unity must be in the team. Tachyon and OX must not be on the team.
Unity must: use bot hack on Volatile Parts, Scrap Metal, and Supply Crate.
Unity must: Use Construction Pylon to put 2 bots into play.
Unity must: use workbench to put a bot into play.
Unity must have at least 1 equipment card in play at the end of the game.
I posted this on the Steam Forum, but I dont know who wall checks both. So I will repost it here:
Game 5: http://pastebin.com/NMt413b1
Wait, you can use Bot-Hack on Ambuscade’s stuff?
Just got it. Vs abuscade with AA, Greatest Legacy and Unity in Wagner Mars Base. Ended game with each equipment in play. No bee bot or cryo bot played. Turret bot was not in play at the end, but three platform bots were (7 bots in the end, about 9 played in total). No bots died.
Played Robot reclamation once, got 5 bots back. Played flash forge twice, dropped three then four cards. Brainstorm was played (1 time I think), inspired repair once (no health healed), hasty augmentation used (at least once on a damaging attack), no Powered shockwave used.
All equipment was used for their ability at least once, save for volatile parts (no bots were destroyed). Bot hack destroyed volatile parts once, Red dust destroyed Supply Crate once (also put it back into play once).
I had already beaten Cosmic Omnitron a few time. Omnitron X always in the lead, Unity also on the team. Always made sure to play self sabotage. OmniX was always the only downed hero.
No. If you are referring to an item in the logs that will occur when a hero takes out a target. It will just list out the hero's power instead of the action used to take them out.
Yeah, I was referring to this: Bot-Hack: Destroyed Sonic Mine x2
That’s kinda confusing.
Fixed it
Tried both of these multiple times. No unlock, unfortunately.
Did you sent Handelabra a screen shot?
I have tried so many things I am burned out...
going to stip trying for a while, we are missing something and I apparently didn't accidentally do it in any of my dozen or so pre games or several dozen unlock games :(
I will get back to the next week some time.
Yeah, any chance of hints MigrantP? specifically something about the pre-game(s) would be nice.
I got it on Steam, but still can't manage to figure out what I did right and get it on Android.
Finally got the unlock!
In the first game I deliberately incapped Omnitron-X by hero. The only other thing was that he had no components in play when incapped.
In the second game, all of Unity's equipment was in play, and I did play both Inspired Repair and Robot Reclaimation.
My theory is:
Defeat Cosmic Omnitron with a team including Omnitron-X and Unity. Omnitron-X must be incapped with no components in play, and must be the only incapped hero. Self Sabotage must have been played.
Defeat any villain with Unity on the team. One copy of each of her equipment cards must be in play at the end of the game, and Robot Reclaimation must have played.
PS - Flipped Cosmitron at THE ENCLAVE OF THE ENDLINGS playing Terraforming out of turn is not nice... just not nice...
That sounded like a worthwhile thing to test out, but after three games (of the second variety), I have no unlocks. Setup was AA, Scholar, TLT, Vis and Unity against Ambuscade at the Enclave.
Have you tried it with a team not including Tachyon? For the record my team was Vis, AA, Unity, Ra &Tempest against Ambuscade at the Enclave.
My game definitely didn't have all of the golems played. I discarded Legacy Bot early and didn't reclaim him. I personally believe that it is the first game which has the complicated part of the unlock unlike the previous ones.
Oh, crap, I forgot about that part. So much for those three games.
EDIT: Gave it one more shot with Legacy instead of Tachyon. All five Equipments out, Robot Reclamation to restore 5 Golems, not all Golems played.Once again, did not work.
If you look at post 76 I analyzed the logs for 10 successful unlock games…
almost every hero hero was in at least one of them, including Legacy and Tachyon… And no hero was in all of them except Unity.
also not all of Unity's equipment was played or used in all of them…
You might review this post…Omnitron-U Variant Unlock Discussion :: Sentinels of the Multiverse General Discussions
Can you tell me which game had Tachyon in it? This is from the logs:
Game 1: The Argent Adept, America's Greatest Legacy, Haka, Unity and Dark Visionary all defeated GloomWeaver! Congratulations!
Game 2: The Argent Adept, America's Greatest Legacy, Haka, Unity and Dark Visionary all defeated GloomWeaver! Congratulations!
Game 3: The Visionary, The Argent Adept, Unity and Ra all defeated Baron Blade! Congratulations!
Game 4: The Visionary, The Argent Adept, Unity and Ra all defeated Baron Blade! Congratulations!
Game 5: The Argent Adept, Bunker, Unity and Chrono-Ranger all defeated Ambuscade! Congratulations!
Game 6: The Visionary, The Argent Adept, Unity and Ra all defeated Ambuscade! Congratulations!
Game 7: The Visionary, The Scholar, The Argent Adept, Unity and Tempest all defeated Ambuscade! Congratulations!
Game 8: The Visionary, The Argent Adept, Unity and Redeemer Fanatic all defeated Baron Blade! Congratulations!
Game 9: The Visionary, Mr. Fixer, Unity and The Scholar all defeated Ambuscade! Congratulations!
Game 10: The Visionary, America's Greatest Legacy, Unity and The Argent Adept all defeated Baron Blade! Congratulations
To quote point one in post 76
Robot Reclamation is a one-shot, the others are Unity's five equipment cards. Unless I'm missing something…
Are there any other similarities between those ten games as in cards in play\hand at the end, number of bots salvaged from the trash and so on.
I think they may have given us a hint with the setup of this weeks oneshot. I am betting it was designed so that you could unlock OU.
I can’t confirm this yet, but the title is Resurrection, and with the sectioned off U and X it seems very pointed. I suspect I shall find put tomorrow.
Hey MigrantP, can you at least answer us one non-specific question?
Do the pre-game(s) need to be played back-to-back with the unlock game, or can they just be played any time since Omnitron-U was released?
The usual answer is that they can be played at any time since the variant was released. I'm not MigrantP, but that should still apply, I think.
It would be very nasty of them to introduce an 'immediaterly after' mechanic now, given we're so familiar with the prior unlocks. I'd also say it's nigh guaranteed that the first part of the unlock can happen at any time between the variant being made avaialable and the second part of the unlock.
No current unlock conditions require back to back games.
I think that with the title "Start Program" they mean this is a game that has the conditions to be used as the first game for the unlock. I think the game next week will have the conditions to finally unlock it. After that, there's no more need for juggling characters, just cards during the game.
I still haven’t gotten the unlock.
I’ve played both weekly episodes 6 or 7 times.
I’ve fought Omnitron about 30 times in the last 3 weeks.
I have fought many other device using villains.
I have won with and without incaps. I have played bots and reclamations and sabotages and every card I can think of. I am definitely missing something. Might be a certain combination, might be a certain number of cards, I’m not sure.
There are 2 things that I know for sure I have definitely NOT done yet.
Now, whether or not those are part of anything remains to be seen. I’m loath to try it due to not being absolutely positive I’ve ruled it out.
Anyone 100% certain on one/both of these not being part of the unlock?
Is there anything we know for certain?
Ohaidere. tl;dr at the end for you lazy types.
I'm the nerd running the Steam discussion on the unlock. Just noticed my account was approved, haha.
Anyway, thought I'd come and share some of the information from over there.
We're currently toying with the idea of a three game requirement, first against standard Omnitron, then against Omnitron-II, and then against whoever.
First game info:
We really don't know if it even is needed, but several players have commented about not getting the unlock until they faced off against standard Omnitron before doing a game against Cosmitron. I had toyed with the assumption that Slip Through Time was a required play during this game, but a player who unlocked Unitron (who admittedly could not share their game logs) commented that they did not use either Slip Through Time or Self Sabotage during this game, so it may be as simple as having Omnitron-X and/or Unity in this game.
Second game info:
Again, most people have not been sharing their logs of this game either, so it's all been speculation at best. However, there's a general consensus that Omnitron-X and Unity must be in the game, Omnitron-X must use at least Self Sabotage (and possibly Slip Through Time), and that he must be the only incapacitated hero at the end.
Third game info:
This one we more or less have hashed out. The general idea for this game is that Unity must be on the team, and Omnitron-X and Tachyon must not be on the team. Unity must have one of each of Modular Workbench, Volatile Parts, Scrap Metal, and possibly Construction Pylon IN PLAY (not just played and trashed) at the end of the game, and that Unity must play Robot Reclamation at least once. We also haven't seen a game where Unity has drawn less than 25 cards, so that may also be a factor.
Things that definitely don't matter:
Unity or her bots do not need to deal the final blow.
The heroes do not need to be at low health.
Having every kind of bot in play is not needed.
Doing anything special with Volatile Parts is not needed.
Recalling bots with Scrap Metal is not needed.
Playing any other one-shot than Robot Reclamation is not needed.
The villain and environment don't matter.
TL;DR version:
Not the exact condition (unless a minor edit makes me guess right), but this has helped people out.
First, defeat Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity on the team. Second, defeat Omnitron-II with Omnitron-X and Unity on the team. Omnitron-X must play Self Sabotage (and Slip Through Time?) at least once. Omnitron-X must be the only incapacitated hero. Then, defeat any villain in any environment with Unity and without Omnitron-X or Tachyon on the team. Unity must play Robot Reclamation at least once and end the game with at least one copy of Modular Workbench, Volatile Parts, (Construction Pylon?) and Scrap Metal in play.
Happy hunting, folks.
If we get a third installment to Res/U/rre/X/ion tomorrow, I think the 3-part unlock concept will be fully confirmed.
Is there anything that needs testing, BTW? I've been holding off on attempting to unlock Omnitron-U so I could help with some of the nitty gritty of the unlock. I'm fairly certain I never had a battle where I've incapped Omnitron-X and still won the battle.
Since this is a pretty complicated unlock, we are going to confirm when a part of the unlock has been fully figured out. And one has!
Part of the unlock condition is: Then, defeat any villain with Unity and without Tachyon or Omnitron-X on the team. Construction Pylon, Modular Workbench, Scrap Metal, Supply Crate, and Volatile Parts must be in play. Robot Reclamation must be played at least once.
We'll do the usual Variant Files website update once all the parts have been figured out.
Good on us for figuring that one out. :D
S'me again.
More info for the peoples who don't go to the Steam discussion.
Did some research on a pair of Cosmitron games, one my own and one from a pair of games that led to a successful unlock, and I turned up some interesting statistics. That said, we don't have many successful Cosmitron games to look through, so this information, while useful, is not from a large sample size.
-In both games, Omni-X died while at least one of each of his components were in the trash.
-In both games, one of each of all of Cosmitron's cards were in his trash.
-In one game, Self Sabotage destroyed one Omni-X component, while in the other, it destroyed 3 Cosmitron components.
-In both games, Reset was NOT played.
From this, and from the general concensus regarding this game, we can list some likely requirements for the Cosmitron game, in order from most likely to least likely:
-Omnitron-X must be the only incapacitated hero. (All unlockers have confirmed this to be a part of their game.)
-Self Sabotage must be played at least once. (All unlockers have confirmed this to be a part of their game.)
-At least one of each of Omnitron-X's Component cards (Electro-Deployment Unit, Gaussian Coil Blaster, Innervation Ray, Focused Plasma Cannon) must be in his trash before he dies.
-At least one of each of Omnitron-II's Ongoings* (Adaptive Plating Subroutine, Disintegration Beam, Interpolation Beam, Electro-Magnetic Railgun) must be in the villain trash at the end of the game.
-At least one of each of Omnitron-II's Devices* (S-83 Assault Drone, S-84 Automaton Drone, S-85 Repair Drone, Electro-Pulse Explosive) must be in the villain trash at the end of the game.
-At least one of each of Omnitron-II's One-Shots (Terraforming, Technological Singularity, Sedative Flechettes) must be in the villain trash at the end of the game.**
-Omnitron-X must not play Reset.***
*The reason I said Ongoings instead of Components is because of a failed Cosmitron game log we have where every single requirement listed above was met EXCEPT for having Adaptive Plating Subroutine in the trash. Mind you, he also didn't have Electro-Pulse Explosive in there, either, but I'm personally not yet sold on needing all the devices or drones in there just yet. Still, to cover my bases, I included it in the list as a possibility.
**Personally I just think it unlikely that villain one-shots are a thing that are needed for this unlock. Still, it happened, so it's in the list.
***I also think it's even less likely they'd restrict us from playing a particular card, but again, covering bases.
Presumably, that should be "without a Tachyon or an Omnitron on the team" as I'd imagine you can't have any of the Tachyon variants on the team when the unlock is triggered and having Omnitron-U on the team wouldn't make sense either. If that's correct, you might want to keep the wording consistent with the F6 unlocks in the Variant Files.
Okay, since we now know what we need for Game 3, I just got my unlock on Android. My hypotheses for the other games are:
Game 1: Win a game with Omnitron-X and Unity against Omnitron in which Slip Through Time is played, no heroes are incapactiated and Omnitron-X deals the final blow to Omintron.
Game 2: Win a game against Cosmitron with Omnitron-X and Unity in which Singularity and Self-Sabotage are played. Omnitron-X must be the only incapacitated hero.
Just unlocked my Omnitron-U; I completed using all three Weekly One-Shots. Game 1 I played a Slip Through Time, and finished Omnitron with Omnitron-X; all heroes active. In Game 2, I had a copy of each of Omnitron-X's equipments in his trash, played Singularity and Self-Sabotage once, along with a Slip Through Time. Omnitron-X was my only incapacitated hero. Game 3, played as described above.
Then, defeat any villain with Unity and without Tachyon or Omnitron-X on the team. Construction Pylon, Modular Workbench, Scrap Metal, Supply Crate, and Volatile Parts must be in play. Robot Reclamation must be played at least once.

Using these, I just unlocked Omnitron-U. Don't know if the wording isn't quite right for broccoli's bit or if we're totally off and the unlocks are just happy accidents, but it works.
Edit: Forgot to add my screencap.
Using broccoli's guide, I also just unlocked it.
Another +1 for Broccoli's method -- screencaps attached:
(Yes, I did the final battle against Blade; don't judge me.)
To refine the search a little bit: I just unlocked Omni-U with this method, except Omni-X did not play Singularity in Game 2. Thus:
Defeat Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity on the team. Slip Through Time must be played, no heroes may be incapacitated, and Omnitron must be destroyed by Omnitron-X.
Then, defeat Cosmic Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity on the team. Self-Sabotage must be played and Omnitron-X must be the only incapacitated hero.
Then, defeat any villain with Unity without any variant of Tachyon or Omnitron-X on the team. Construction Pylon, Modular Workbench, Scrap Metal, Supply Crate, and Volatile Parts must be in play. Robot Reclamation must be played at least once.
I tried this TWICE and still no luck with an unlock :(
Still no luck.
Can anyone provide clues?
Like environemnt, hero order, advanced or not? I'm getting a little disheartened that this post is not active as much anymore.
I always had Omnitron-X in the lead position. Maybe that will help?
Omnitron-U doesn't need to be in the first position (in the first two games, I had Team Leader Tachyon in front to make sure he drew into the cards needed)
I'm pretty sure my next two positions in both games were Omni-X, followed by Unity
I'm a tester for Handelabra so I can't help you since I know the conditions.
Thanks!
I'll try this again
UNLOCKED!!!
My mistake was that i had Tachyon in my last team. I read "any variant of Tachyon" as the origina Tachyon must be on your team, not "NO TACHYON"
You're the best fellow Sentinels!
Glad you finally got it.
Congrats!
I haven't gone about unlocking it. I may or may not have finished the first condition, but I definitely haven't done the second. Is there any part of it that we think still needs to be tested? I'm willing to act as a guinea-pig if there is something we are missing.
Well, the current method we've got definitely seems to work for everyone, so if what we've got still isn't quite right, then you'd think we must be making it more complicated that it really has to be, somehow?
It's either we're putting in too many unnecessary details, or missing some commonality. At this point, only thorough log-scouring will work.
I THINK I can confirm the following
1) Environments do not matter. I stayed in Insula Primalis for all three. That damage boost from obsidian fields was a huge help.
2) The order of heroes does not matter. As mentioned earlier, Omnitron-X can go anywhere.
3) The number of heroes is not needed. I played three heroes for all the games.
4) In the first game Omnitron X also gave the final blow on his turn, when "Slip Through Time" was played. I think i used the power that does damage based on the plating.
5) I cannot recall perfectly, but Omnitron X was incapacitated by a hero in the second game.
I used the revised condition that UXM has above and unlocked omni-u as well.
I'm glad it worked! But what condition, or was it all of them? Just curious for my sake, and for those who haven't unlocked it yet.
I did all three games in that order following those requirements.
Best part about the mobile sale? We can get more people to attempt this!
I didn't realzie I don't have it on tablet :(
Only if you don't own it for the OS your phone is on. If you owned it for iPad and downloaded for your phone which uses the same Gamecenter account all the variants will automatically be unlocked as you have the achievements for it.
Just unlocked.
Thoughts:
Game 1. Defeat Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity. (Possibly with both Omnitron-X and Unity not incapped)
Game 2. Defeat Cosmic Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity. Omnitron-X must be incapped. (Possibly Unity not incapped)
Game 3. Defeat any villian with Unity and without any variant of Tachyon or Omnitron-X on the team. Construction Pylon, Modular Workbench, Scrap Metal, Supply Crate, and Volatile Parts must be in play. Robot Reclamation must be played at least once.
I never played Slip Through Time or Self-Sacrifice. I never brought Tachyon. Visionary was incapped every game, no one else was besides Omnitron-X second game. No decks were ever completely gone through though I didn't pay attention to what all was played by Omnitron. First two games were played in Insula Primalis, third game was against Baron Blade in Silver Gulch.
sillyellie has it! Here are the official full conditions to unlock Omnitron-U:
Defeat regular Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity on the team; neither of them may be incapacitated. Then, defeat Cosmic Omnitron with Omnitron-X and Unity on the team; Omnitron-X must be incapacitated, but Unity may not be incapacitated. Then, defeat any villain with Unity and without Tachyon or Omnitron-X on the team. Construction Pylon, Modular Workbench, Scrap Metal, Supply Crate, and Volatile Parts must be in play. Robot Reclamation must be played at least once.
Woohoo this one is finally done.
Whoo! :D
Congrats!
But that was cruel on handelabra's part. Making us think they are more complicated than what it actually is! YOU MOCK US WITH YOUR POWER AND KNOWLEDGE!11!1!1!1 Grah...
I wonder what's next!
Well there is Santa Guise to still figure out. Also you can always thank Christopher for these conditions.
Apologies to handelabra for blaming them for the compeltely EEEEVIIIIIL conditions. CURSE YOU CHRISTOPHER>
That's right, Santa Guise hasn't been discovered.
This one was meant to be more difficult, since it was available via the cheat button immediately.
