I played La Capitan vs. Scholar, Omnitron-X, Chrono-Ranger, and TL Tachyon today in the Time Cataclysm.  I was falling way behind and La Capitan got almost all of her crew out (everyone but Siege Breaker I believe).  I almost quit, but then Fixed Point came out.  I had one plating in play, played another on OX's turn, and topdecked the last one with his power.  Very shortly after that, I got both Adaptive Plating Subroutine and Defensive Blast in play and it made the game a real laugher.  I cleared the board with Defensive Blast and did 22 damage to La Capitan with one attack a few turns later (thanks to one of Chrono-Ranger's bounties).  OX was -2 damage on all types and everytime he took an odd point here and there I was dishing it back with Adaptive Plating Subroutine.

It went from a seemingly unwinnable game to a route in a matter of turns.  That's one of things I absolutely love about this game and what gives it that authentic comic book game feel.

I managed to get five platings in play the other day. Nothing could touch Omni-X.

Ha ha ha ha ha!

Fixed point and various AA out-of-turn play shenanigans?

Nope. One in play in advance. Played two more with Electro-Deployment Units. Played the fourth during my play phase. The fifth was a lucky Timeshift.

Clearly you all understand this better than I do, but why would Fixed Point allow you to have more than one plating in play? It doesn't say to destroy other plating cards, it says to return them to your hand. Fixed Point simply makes everything indestructible, not...immovable...right?

From the rulebook of the core game:

Indestructible: If a card is indestructible, it cannot be destroyed or removed from play. If a target is indestructible, it stays in play even if it is reduced to 0 or fewer HP.

Emphasis mine. Returning it to your hand would count as removing it from play.

Other characters that can have fun being OP with Fixed Point are Mr Fixer and the Naturalist :D.

And Bunker can try, but it doesn't generally work out all that well.

Yeah.  It takes a little bit of extra help, but you can get all of Bunker's modes out all at once, and then watch him sit there unable to do anything.

With Bunker, I like playing two Upgrade Modes and a Recharge Mode. This allows me to draw 3 cards for teh draw phase, then when I am ready to play tons of cards, I destroy Recharge Mode and can play up to 3 cards every turn.

Every time I think about Fixed Point shenanigans, I remember during the Vengeance playtesting when someone (I apologize for not remembering who) mentioned creating "The Deadly Nimble Gazelcodile".  That one always cracked me up.

I call his hybrid forms the crocelope, the rhinodile (or crococeros), the rhinolope, and the particularly rare rhinodilelope (or crocorhinolope)

I got all six platings in play! It made Defensive Blast useless, but having all damage dealt to Omnitron-X reduced by 4 is pretty cool.

...but still, nothing could save Tempest. Shame.

Well, I was trying to unlock Sacrifice Tempest, so it had to be done.

Does Fixed Point specifically say it makes them indestructible, or that it can’t be destroyed?

Fixed Point says all cards in play other than itself are indestructible and at the start of the next environment turn it destroys itself.
