Elemental Wrath AZ unlock discussion

Don't give this variant the cold shoulder.

It wasn't going from 1 to 29 HP in one turn. (At least not in Time Cataclysm against Voss). 

My guess is he may have to knock himself out with fire damage, but these haven't been THAT straightforward since the first batch. 

No story on the Multiverse page to base ideas off of yet...

Have all his equipment destroyed in a single go, maybe?

What about having him destroy all of his self-destroyable equipment/ongoings?  i.e. the ones that he can use a power to destroy?

Just got the unlock using some information I'd seen on the Steam forums.

The pieces were:

Tachyon, Absolute Zero, Wraith, Ra, and Omnitron-X vs. Baron Blade in Time Cataclysm

I was also trying for TL Tachyon, so I got everyone to <10.  Based on what I saw in the Steam forums, I got every piece of Absolute Zero's equipment out, but made sure he had 0 at the end (thanks to Singularity).  I also got out Glacial Structure, but it was also not out at the end.  I never did get Cold Snap or Impale out though, so "all ongoings" shouldn't be a requirement.  I won with Tachyon doing FoFx3 and a Lightspeed Barrage, but AZ and every one were alive.  My guess is:

Lose with AZ to Iron Legacy (seems to be a common theme with F6).

Win a game in which AZ is <10 and plays all equipment cards, but none are in play at the end, which at least 1 ST hero on the team.

(For those curious, I did NOT get TL Tachyon).

UNLOCK!

Have IL incap AZ. 

Fought Ambuscade in Insula Primalis. 

Have all of AZ's equipment out (i had them all out at the same time - not sure if they all need to be out at the same time or just have to been in play). Then defeat the villain with no equipment in play and AZ at 9 or lower. I did this via Singularity from O-X. 

The Bio Page Text seems to be a placeholder. It's the AZ text from Tactics.

I just unlocked him, doing basically the same as Praion did above.  Got all his equipment out, then destroyed it with singularity, then finished the fight.  Tempest got the killing blow.

Used AZ, Omni, Tach, Tempest, and Wraith against Blade in Insula Primalis.

Everybody had pretty high hp.  Pretty straight forward fight.

I have both won and lost to Iron Legacy before this, with AZ on the team both times.  I had also had Blade knockout Young Legacy on the Mars Base in case the overall Iron Legacy story line needed it.

Unlocked him with the same conditions Praion did: All of AZ's equip out, then Singularity'd all of them to the trash on Dino Island with Ambuscade.  AZ > Omni > AA > Inf Scholar, Omni picked up the last hit with a rocket punch, so AZ doesn't have to do anything after the equipment's gone.  Ongoings don't seem to affect anything either as AZ still had one Impale on Ambuscade.

My current theory:

After losing a game against Iron Legacy that included Absolute Zero, win a game in which all AZ's equipment is played and destroyed, Legacy can't be on the team.

Trying it without Amb nor Insula ...

Got it! It's just the equipment part that's required. Did it on Silver Gulch against Gloom.

Trying with Voss in the Time Cataclysm, but had to go to work. Will post results tonight.

Man he is really fun to play. 

This one and Unity maybe change up how you play the character the most. Followed by DW Nightmist.

Ambuscade @ Insula Primalis

Tachyon (TL), AZ, Dark Vis, OmnitronX

Got out all of his equipment pieces and let the TePterodactyl Thief eat them.  Then crushed Ambuscade with Tachyon (3 Fleets into Lightning Reflexes into 3 14hp Lightspeed Barrages...did not unlock here, but the rest of team was over 10hp except her).

Unlocked on Victory.

So it seems to be: Get all of AZ's equipment into play, let it all be destroyed and win the match.

Confirmed!

Lose to Iron Legacy first, then:

Team: AZ, Omni-X, SST, Ra (horus of two suns)
Villain: Ambusacde
Environ: Insula Primalis

AZ got out the 4 peices of equipment: Null Point, thermotranducer, Cryo chamber, and Focused Appertures
Omni used Singularity to destry them.  AZ was over 10Hp (Hell I had him at 21HP)
Tachyon had the final hit for the win.

I don't think villain or location really matter or the rest of the team matter.

Unless I did something wrong, I fulfilled the above (lose to Iron Legacy and then get all of Ab Zab's equipment into play and destroyed) and didn't unlock. AZ was incapped though, so maybe he needs to survive the "winning" match?

Does all the equipment have to be destroyed at once? I got all AZ's equpment out & then destroyed it over the course of two or three rounds (mostly with Unity's Bot-Hack) and didn't unlock. (won vs. Omitron in Time Cataclysm, nobody incapped. Have previously lost against Iron Legacy, just like for all the other F6 unlocks.)

Mine was also destroyed over several rounds, using DW Fixer.

I would assume then it all has to be destroyed at once. And I think you need him to keep his health above 10HP.  he can't be incapped.

Weird.  I unlocked him at home without any issues.

I cannot unlock him at work at all.  I've met all the requirements.  The only thing might be I have another F6 member on the team, but I think I had Tempest or Unity when I unlocked him previously.

I've let Iron Legacy beatdown all the F6 (so I don't have to do it again for other unlocks).

All 4 equipment has been destroyed via Dark Watch Fixer.

Absolute Zero is alive.

Legacy is not on this team.

Defeated the villain.

I see what happened now.  Steam carried over my unlock from home into my work laptop.  He was already unlocked.  It didn't used to do that.

But what's more weird is that I checked to see if they were unlocked when I first played this morning, and they were locked.  But now, they are unlocked.

Interesting.

Unlocks are now associated with achievements, and the game syncs them every time it starts.

I've done this twice now and no unlock. 

Are you sure you got all 4 of his equipment? People forget that Apatures and Cryo count.

Yes. All four both times.

EDIT: The first time I had all four in play when Villain Omnitron hit us with a destroy all equipment. In the other game,  I had destroyed cryo chamber with its power, and then had Omniton X do a sigularity on the other 3 pieces of equipment. And with each of these games, I'd previously lost to Iron Legacy with him on the team, so I should have two losses (at least) of that in the history.

There's a minor chance the wording means AZ has to cause the KO.  I can't test again or I'd try.

Was Legacy on your team?

Nope. My team in both games was Team Leader Tachyon (to help AZ get his equipment out), Omnitron X so I could use Singularity to destroy all AZ's equipment in one move if needed, Absolute Zero (of course) … And Ra and Haka to round it out with more heavy hitting.  In my first game, AZ ended with a piece of equipment out (after all 4 were destroyed, I put one out 'cause the wording didn't say you couldn't have equipment out at the end). But in the second game, he didn't have any equipment out at the end. He had nothing out, though until the final turn he had impale out. After Omnitron was impaled to death, Omnitron and Impale were destroyed. Then AZ killed the last drone in his play phase, winning the game and dealing the final blow to both Omnitron and his last drone. In the first game, I think it was O-X who dealt the final blow, though, in that game I'm pretty sure a drone (rather than Omnitron himself) was also the last one standing. Wouldn't think that would matter, but it was something to think about … In both games that didn't unlock, the game didn't end immediately when the villain was destroyed. We were, however, victorious both times and AZ survived both times … In the second game, he was nearly at full health (25, I think). In the first game, I think he was around 10 hp.

Oh well. Will try again (Oh no, I have to play more Sentinels, what a travesty!), but some wonkiness is going on.

UPDATE: After these two attempts failed, I decided to do something a little different and challenge myself by trying to unlock Absolute Zero and Unity in the same game. And it worked! It was a fun game where Unity, who was just refusing to lose any hp most of the game, found her bot army – and Ra – turning against her! Stealth Bot would redirect damage from negative energy field for everyone else but her. And, alas, I got both of them unlocked, so now I have half of the Freedom 6. (I avoided Omniton in this attempt … Went up against Baron Blade instead.)

I have had the same issue not getting the unlock. I am using pervasive red dust to destroy the equipment. Does it need to be the villain?

Nope.  I unlocked using Pervasive Red Dust

And I unlocked using OX's Singularity.

Argent Adept, Omnitron-X, Absolute Zero, and the Scholar versus Gloomweaver in the Time Cataclysm. Just about every turn was spent making Zero draw or play until all his stuff was out because I didn’t feel like waiting; then I killed all four equipment cards with a “Singularity” (twice, actually, since this particular group is a reeeaaaaal slow build on damage). The second “Singularity” destroyed all villain cards. Zero’s new form, Elemental Wrath or whatever, was unlocked.

I had an interesting glitch during my streaming session last night.  Classic Wraith, TLT, Unity, Visionary, and AZ vs Chairman at Wagner.  Attempting to get triple unlock for Wraith, Unity, and AZ.  Unity gets incapped thanks to Oxygen Leak and me being terrible at math.  More importantly, Wraith kills the Chairman via Inventory Barrage while the Operative is still active and I get the F6 Absolute Zero unlock despite not winning the game.  I'll have the video up over the weekend to show.

Yep, that is a bug where the game thinks it is over for some checks. Will be fixed in the next update.
