I feel kinda cheap after my last fight vs adv. Akash in Mars base.  After a few rounds back and forth, meteor storm comes out.  I figure I'll take a few turns and get set up.  After a while there are a ton of her limbs in play.  Fanatic plays end of days.  Everything gets destroyed and Akash takes a bunch of damage.  Then what happens?  The environment immediately plays another meteor storm.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  Pretty much defeated her with two cards.

I think that's a one in a million chance game, and I actually find it more funny than cheap.

Akash apparently should really stay on Earth, she just can't handle space.

Back when the printed Infernal Relics first launched, we had a game like that.  AB had one of those "perfect storm" starts where she primeval eruptioned back to back and thus started with TONS of stuff out.  My GF at the time picked up her hand as Fanatic and went "Uh...guys?"....and we dropped her to like half hp on turn 1.

I can remember having a game a bit like that once - Akash'Bhuta had got out a bunch of limbs and Fanatic had End of Days in hand and we decided the few cards we'd lose to it would be heavily outbalanced by the amount of damage Akash'Bhuta would deal herself. So we used it and made sure that By Any Means got destroyed after Akash'Bhuta had hit herself multiple times for +1 damage >:). The combined total she dealt herself after all her limbs got nuked was something like 105(ish). It wasn't enough to kill her but she was down to about 42hp and I'm pretty sure we were able to win after that :).

Akash can destroy Environment cards, Ongoing cards and Equipment cards, your plan is one that could go horribly, horribly wrong. Don't feel cheap just because you got a lucky break this time, be proud that you not only destroyed Akash but you also beat the odds!

Had a game go similarly unfairly against Akash'Bhuta during my game night tonight -- Argent Adept, Tempest, Ra, Fanatic and Haka against her in Insular Primalis. It took Akash three rounds to get any of her damaging cards out -- meanwhile, the Environment popped out three Obsidian Fields. AA got Syncopated Onslaught out early, Ra had both his staff and Solar Flare within a couple rounds, and Haka got the weapons out fast.

It amounted to everyone pounding the poor villain silly every turn directly and when she did get a limb out, it went down in a hurry and she did herself a heap of extra damage when it did. It was risky, sure -- the couple damaging environment cards that came out put the hurt on us and Ra knocked himself for a loop to keep Solar Flare out -- but I don't think I've ever seen a villain's HP drain that fast. I kinda felt sorry for her.

And this right after I told the gaming group that we'd need a solid buffer like Legacy because of how much HP Akash had. Silly me.

Akash can be interesting because when you have enough mass damage you actually start hoping that a few limbs will come out.  Suddenly the amount of damage you can do to her is multiplied by a factor of 4 or 5 (until the limbs go away again, of course).

I think I have something to top the Cheap-Chart.

Legacy, DW Ex-Pat, G.I. Bunker and Wraith versus Voss in Megapolis.

Legacy Galvanized with Inspiring Presense out, and Roof Top Combat is in play with DW Aiming and Hairtrigger Reflexes in play. And bunker has Ammo Drop.

Voss gets out Forced deployment with at least 12 minions he can play.

I let Forced Deployment go off, releasing all of the minions with DW Ex-Pat killing each one as it's played with a +4 bonus for each attack.

If I keep letting Hairtrigger go off, I'm stuck in an infinate loop.

And for all the while Bunker just keeps getting cards...

Edit: Nope, not an infinite loop, just cycled through all the baddies. Still, quite an effective way to deal with Forced Deployment, isn't it?

No, they've been pretty good about eliminating all infinite loops.  The only I know of that still works at the moment is the Fixed Point + Absolute Zero + Imbued Fire self damage loop (which technically isn't infinite, but only arbitrarily large, but I think that it's the only one of those either)

That's one of my favorite things to do with Expatriette. Another fun trick for that combo: Add Argent Adept to that mix, and have him go after Legacy. Get out Inspiring Supertonic and crank it as many times as you can to make Legacy re-Galvanize. In the right environment, she can damn near take out one of Voss's starships when it comes out.

We are aware of two infinite loops in the game rules (for the decks currently available). One of them got reported by a player and we're gonna figure out a way to fix it. The other one, nobody has reported yet ;)

In my last fight against Skinwalker Gloomweaver, I won because of Tempest's incapacitated power to make every hero immune to a certain damage type, and that card in Pike Industrial Complex that makes all damage Toxic. I even used two of Bunker's Adhesive Foam Grenades to make sure that the vat explosion didn't come out; so Gloom Weaver was constantly killing everything but the heroes.

I learned how to abuse Alacritous Subdominant to give AA ALL the power usages...Nothing but attack boosts and heals out the wazoo in this fight. Yeah, nobody else had alot on the board, but I managed to pull this off.

Properly set up, Argent Adept is literally cheating at it’s finest. Don’t be surprised when you start taking 5-10 minute turns trying to figure out the proper order to sing his songs to get the most out of your team.

I've always gravitated towards bards ever since I first starting playing d&d, and I'm happy to say that Argent Adept lives up to my bardic expectations.  He's been my favorite hero ever since playtesting :)

Just discovered another fun trick against Akash -- Visionary + Wraith + Tempest + SST + Unity at Wagner base.

Use Visionary and Wraith to stack the top and bottom of Akash's deck with the limbs while Meteor Shower is out. SST forces them onto the field while Unity builds up her bots. Tempest uses Reclaim from the Deep to keep cycling Visionary's deck control cards, Unity's Construction Pylons, and Reclaim from the Deep itself.

Then take out the Meteor Shower (either by skipping a turn or with someone's environment destruction cards since by now you'll have several out). Unity gives Akash a double dose of Powered Shockwave, leaving Villainous Weaponry for last.

And then Platform and Raptor bots will usually finish her off.

Just as fun as End of Days with none of the bitter aftertaste of nuking your own stuff.

Why nuke your own stuff, just nuke Bee Bot!

More fun with AA, this time with guest stars Unity, Tachyon and Matriarch.

Counterpoint Bulwark + Stealth Bot = Straight up ignoring every bird she brings out that isn't named Huginn or Muninn.

Vernal Sonata lets you keep bringing out Hypersonic Assault, so even Matriarch's direct attacks don't do much.

Poor girl barely had a chance.

That trio just wrecks things, especially if the Tachyon in question is of the Team Leader variety ;). Then everyone gets to draw everything, the Adept starts letting Unity play cards out-of-turn, and Unity does whatever she wants on her turn because the Adept has let her put out most of her bots already, and then said bots destroy all the bad guys :D.

Just had a fun cheap victory myself.

While fighting Apostate in Silver Gulch, an Explosives Wagon came into play.  Visionary put Wrest the Mind on the Wagon and then went into her Cocoon.  Before I had a chance to set the Wagon off though, a 2nd one came into play.  When it came back around to the Heroes turn, I blew up one of wagons.  There were 5 heroes, a couple of other environment targets, a couple of villain targets, and a few Bots in play so I had a something like 30 separate instances of 4 damage to redirect at will.  BOOM!  I never even got to the the 2nd wagon going off as Apostate didn't survive all of the damage I redirected from the first wagon.

I love when Visionary gets scary like that.

I had a really good game against Akash'Bhutaa that was Visionary, Mr.Fixer, and Absolute Zero in Megalopolis. By the second round I had twist the ether on AZ (with an isothermic and null-point), Mr Fixer had dual crowbars and grease monkey fist, and visionary had a TTE on AZ. All I had to do to kill any of the limbs was use Mr. Fixer to bounce some fire damage odd of AZ, and then hit the limb. And At the end, I looped a TTE on AZ until he took about 50 Fire damage in the total round, and nuked Akash for game. It was probably one of the most one sided fights I've had as of late

Fun one, Voss vs. Greatest Legacy, Haka, and Visionary in Realm of Discord. Savage Mana ate minions; Gung Ho into Mental Divergence killed all three Forced Deployments early enough that Haka could eat whoever he missed the first time around. Fortitude and Lead from the Front kept Voss himself from doing anything but plink Greatest Legacy, who then healed up with Motivational Charge anyway. The warships never showed up, but Visionary had Wrest the Mind in hand and put a Twist the Ether on Haka just in case. Three Dominions + Distortions breaking each other every couple rounds put about 25 cards in Haka's hand.

Finally, with Voss sitting at about 40 HP, Ethereal Bonds hits Haka while Time Flies is out, so I use Haka of Battle and toss in all but his other two Hakas of Battle. Environment plays the exploding bubbles, which Legacy kills (along with the minions Voss played on his turn) with Flying Smash -- earning Haka three more cards. Blow the other two Hakas of Battle, then kill Voss with a 50 HP Savage Mana.

I'd never beaten Voss before with everyone at such high HP -- nobody ever dipped below 20 and everyone was over 25 at the end.
