So anyone have thoughts on this? Could be done like mini expansions where the decks first show up in the video game and then later released down the road. Or could be interesting to see a deck done this way as an open beta that evolves over time. I know they made a comment in the past they were interested in letting people create their own decks down the road for the video game but be interesting to see some exclusivity decks in the mean time for the video game just to give it something to look forward to. Idk I think I am rambling at this point so let's see what people think?

I think it's an interesting idea, but Sentinels has a definite endpoint in the next year or so, and I don't think the videogame is going to catch up in time to overtake the card game.

Especially considering the extra effort it takes to program the cards for the videogame.

True but they still have time to do mini expansions with it. I see one or 2 wouldn't be to hard and if all else fails the play testing could be done on app

Playtesting would be terrible on the app.  You'd have to program in every little adjustment in, and you have to figure out every little interaction ahead of time.  Especially for heros like Guise where you want to say "This card steals a thing.  We'll worry about how exactly he does it later"

Much easier on pen and paper, where vagueness is allowed, and adjustments can be made with a sharpie.

I doubt that will happen. However we are hoping we can manage a simultaneous launch of an expansion down the road.

Am I right in guessing that's why you folks are trying to pump out as many expansions as possible?

We're working hard on the expansions because they're awesome, and because many of you have already paid for them so we better =)

As much as I want to see Sentinel Tactics done, I have to ask: Has Handelabra ever done a game that's required dynamic AI before?

I don't know that Tactics would require that, multiplayer only is one way to go.

That kind of defeats the purpose of a video game version of it, doesn't it?

Not if the idea is just to be able to play it more. There are lots of implimentations of board/card games without computer opponents.

Yes, Uncle Slam has AI opponents. And I have a Master's degree in AI research. We'll be OK =)

I'll probably pick it up if/when it becomes a reality then.
