Is the Chairman (or the Operative) supposed to be able to deal damage if they've been defeated?

Just got KOd by The Chairman with Undivided Attention. Chariman was down, but the Operative had 21 HP left. Expatriette went down from the Operative's attack when Undivided Attention came out, and then Wraith fell to it from the Chairman's portion of the damage. How can a target that's no longer in the game deal damage?

Granted, I probably would have still lost regardless, but still doesn't make much sense this way.

Scum and Villainy had me attacked by Chairman when he was already gone.

It does seem a bit odd to me

that that is the way it would be

but the text has no "if"

that would cause it to whiff

So it might be behaving correctly

The Operative explicitly only deals damage if she's not incapped.  Since the Chairman doesn't have the "if active" clause, it would imply that he can still deal damage.

The counter argument there is that the Operative needs the "if" clause because she doesn't leave play when she's incapped, while the Chairman does.  Since he's not in play, he shouldn't be able to deal damage.

There's no IF statement on Omnitron's cards but we know (knew?) that it doesn't deal damage if told to by a card play after it has been removed from play.

This is probably a bug. I think it should work like Omnitron. We'll check with Christopher.

And according to the latest patch, it was indeed a bug.
