Mostly for my own amusement. These are currently all of the cards from the released expansions with characters on them that do not have their own character or minion card. As >G has shown a tendency to offer sneak peaks of future expansions through the artwork, let's see what we can find.

I believe the sorcerer in green on Nightmist's card is The Master, the man who trained her in her backstory.

He is on the art we have for Vengeance, and seems a little young for the Master, to me. I don't remember who suggested some times ago that he could be the dragon on overdrive card, because of color schemes.

True.  I could see that case being made.

I nominate that we dub the guy in the wifebeater on Scum and Villa(i)ny Rainbow Smash, because his rainbow mohawk is pretty fantastic.

Also, the tentacle creature on Unload appears to be the Gene-Bound Shock Infantry.

And the guy in the helmet (thanks to one of the guys in my group that just walked into my coffee shop job) appears to be the Gene-Bount Ion Lancer.

Isn't Ra the guy that Legacy is punching out on Motivational Charge? I also think it might be Ambuscade he's hitting on Back Fist Strike.

I'm more inclined to think that that's Citizen Anvil he's motivationally charging at (note the wife beater.  Very un-Ra).  As far as Back-Fist Strike goes, I don't know if it's Ambuscade.  I've never seen his face, and his face doesn't appear to be damaged from his genetic engineering.  I'm guessing that it's a random thug.

I don't see Mr Fixer's Harmony card on your list : 3 figures, one glowing blue, seems to have a staff of energy under arm, two glowing red-orange, one with a sword and a staff, one with what seems to be a nunchaku, all weapons apprently made of pure energy. The card has a quote of Black Fist (former pseudonym of Mr Fixer), it is possible that the blue figure is Black Fist, in some kind of energetic plane /universe /whatever...

nice compilation!

I don't know if this counts for what you're to list here (since, admitedly, these are not clear images, but since some of these were mentioned in earlier posts in this thread, i thought i'd toss it out there ...)

At http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gtgames/sentinels-of-the-multiverse-shattered-timelines/posts/350410 if you scroll down about half-way there is an image for Vengeance.  Prior displays of this image tends to cut off right below the word vengeance.  However, with this zoomed-out view there are some people standing in the background behind the vengeance words..

starting with the V in Vengeance and going clockwise...

1) someone in green holding a blue energy orb

2) someone in grey with a "Hulk" like physique and a bulbous head

3) someone in a green with an orge-like build

4) someone with white hair and an eyepatch

5) someone who looks a lot like #3 but with different clothes (a twin, or another multiplying person? or a robot or clone?)

there are also some other random colors in there at the far back that could be clothing or body parts for other people, but i tried to just list people with at least partially discernable faces.

@ the OP, you don't seem to have any of Kismet's cards in this list.  Weak Heart (EDIT: and Violent Trickster) very distinctly shows the same character with the one-spot die on his chest shown on Shock Rounds.

Also, I had a thought about one of Chrono-Ranger's bounties, "The Whole Gang".  Wouldn't it be rather fitting for a group of "young punks" with ill intentions (and little evidence of being especially smart) to be nemeses to The Scholar?  Perhaps, given his hippyish look, he was just as radical as them in his youth, but now he's mellowed out and learned to appreciate the big picture, whereas they're all nihilists (and possibly vampires for extra fittingness) who want to make sure everyone dies before they grow old.

So, now that the Vengeance heroes have been previewed on the site, we can fill in those last few heroes:

KNYFE goes between Haka and Legacy.  Parse goes before Ra, followed by someone, followed by Setback.

Notable missing folks are The Naturalist and The Sentinels (who would go right before Setback, so they'd fit in that slot...)

If you click on the picture at the bottom of Parse's bio, you can see two villains. One appears to be the Orange glowy guy that we've seen before (in Unity's deck and other places). The other appears to be made of water (perhaps some Calypso/Poseidon water deity type villain.

That's not a villain, that's my mom.

But seriously, he's gotta be some big time villain, K.N.Y.F.E. has to have a serious nemesis with that backstory.

He is indeed pictured somewhere. Can't remember where.

Also, Calypso is a rather decent guess. Though I think the other guy is not the orange glow guy in Unitys deck, but possibly the mud man found on cards like isolated hero. The twoface like mouth connector flesh is the giveaway there.

This guy has about the same messed-up mouth as Char; perhaps Char can transform into a lava form which has no hair (and thus no mohawk).

I have a very definite theory that KNYFE's nemesis is going to be the "final boss" of Sentinels, and thus not encountered until the sixth and last expansion.

Foote, are you talking about Mists of Time?  I don't think that is the same one as the K.N.Y.F.E. picture.

I'm thinking the shadowy figure holding the earth, we might be thinking of different images, I think that one is the force behind Cosmic Omnitron.

Which leads to one speculative question, with no more Sentinels card game kickstarters, will we get any more awesome villain remakes?

Cosmic Omnitron is awesome, as is Mad Bomber Blade.  I want more.  The ones I make aren't nearly as cool as the ones the >G guys make.

Or maybe you were saying that being would be K.N.I.F.E.'s nemesis, that could be.

Also that.

Which leads to one speculative question, with no more Sentinels card game kickstarters, will we get any more awesome villain remakes?

I plan on making a couple homebrew ones, if that's worth anything to you.

Cosmic Omnitron is awesome, as is Mad Bomber Blade.

They made new versions of those two because they're stupidly weak by comparison to other villains (the only difficulty 1s).  What I think >G should do is go in the opposite direction - make Difficulty 1 or 2 versions of some disproportionately difficult villains (Dreamy, Kismet, Birdbrain, I'm looking at you), so that you'll have more options for introducing new players to the game.

Ambuscade has managed to put us in our place sometimes. If he gets Charged Shots at the wrong time, MAN does that hurt. Especially once he starts blowing up his own devices to chain the attacks all together.

That being said, KISMET? Really? She's already a 2, and a fairly low one at that. I don't think they should make more easy villains; there are already plenty of those, and you don't HAVE to play against the hard ones your first time. It's a different issue than having Blade and Omnitron, who are so weak that once you learn the game you'll never touch them again. (Although, I don't think Omnitron's THAT easy. He should be a 2, what with his Singularities, EMPs, Flachettes, and Terraforming.)

I am truly on the boat of hoping this game DOES have a final boss. I've been saying for a long time. For me, it's hard to determine whether Iron Legacy or The Chairman is the hardest boss in this game up to this point, but if everything were to go the way I want it to go, there'd eventually be an answer to "Who is the baddest?" And it'd be the cosmic being.

I don't just want this game to end with a villain who is about as tough as IL or Chairman--I want an unkillable monstrosity that can only be beaten with the most careful of planning and strokes of luck. The one villain we can point to and say "Yeah, that's the hardest."

I've fought him twice, once on advanced, and both times Visionary made him her female-dog.  He doesn't have enough minions, his Components are easily destroyed, most of his effects don't fire until the second turn, TechSing does nothing against most Heroes since only a few of them are heavily into Equipment (I think it's maybe 1/3 offhand; the rest have maybe 1 or 2 in their deck), Terraforming is blank for the first several turns, and at most he plays 2 villain cards every other round, compared to La Capitan having at least two every single round until you can get the Boat to stay dead, and 1 more if Mable comes out.  My second game against Omnitron was only three heroes (granted one of them was Unity, but I was playing her for the first time, and she lost all her cards in play one round); I was deliberately trying to assemble a team that he'd have a fair chance of whomping, and he still rolled over in thoroughly pathetic fashion.  Flechettes is an extremely strong card, but it's pretty much the only thing in his deck I fear, unless I'm playing a hero who relies on Equipment.  Maybe it's just that Visi is his Kryptonite, but I don't buy it.  I think he's weaker than Baron Blade, and probably about equal with Gloomy (the Cultists are definitely meaner than Omni's silly little Drones, one of which is like the Explosive but with 1/3-1/5 the HP, and both of them only hit the single highest hero there is, which is pretty much "not even trying" compared to the minions of Voss, Dawn or Dreamy).

The book lists her at 3, and I think that seems valid.  She made me sweat; ironically, she lost because luck was on my side, as she repeatedly failed to resolve Karmic Disjunction.  Had that actually landed, though…one time I started resolving it by mistake, and ALL FOUR of the cards were Jinxes, which would have meant her attack was +4 damage, and it hits all heroes.  At the very least, she's a high 2, but I could believe 3…and conceptually, she doesn't deserve to be that solid.  She's just a punk kid with a stolen gewgaw which makes her lucky; instead, she ends up as this psycho-kinetic wrecking bacll.  (Granted, it probably didn't help that we fought her in the Final Wasteland and she was using Abominable Snowmen to block our attacks.  And just when I was getting ready to take that card out, she busts out Lady Luck and I had to kill that instead, so we basically sat on our hands for two rounds until I draw my other Ongoing destroyer.)

I don't think they should make more easy villains; there are already plenty of those

Yeah, while I've had easy GAMES, Omnitron and maybe Baron Blade are the only easy VILLAINS IMO.  Anyone with minions is a steamroller, and even Ambuscade and Gloomy strike me as solid 2s, just because they have at least one way of dealing a huge amount of damage (Rocket Launcher from the High Ground, or the Ronway cultist with a +1 from one of the Relics).

and you don't HAVE to play against the hard ones your first time. It's a different issue than having Blade and Omnitron, who are so weak that once you learn the game you'll never touch them again.

This part I do agree with; they definitely deserved the upgrades.  But I think it ought to work in the other direction too.

Also you used Visionary both times.  This makes sense of why you would believe Visionary too powerful and Omnitron too weak.  Visionary is phenomenal vs. Omnitron, even if he doesn't get EPE.  WtM isn't nearly as good vs. other decks, because often you take as much damage as you give, or more, On an EPE it is the win button.

I honestly don't have much trouble with minion heavy villains, Akash is the only one I really get steamrolled by, and that is becasue I love playing her in final wasteland.

Wrest the Mind wasn't a major factor in either of those wins.  The first, non-advanced win was largely due to four heroes getting Legacy's damage boosts, but in the second, Visionary utterly dominated Omnitron with Precognition and Suggestion.  He has more situationally-weak cards than nearly any other villain - Precognition on Voss is nearly worthless, because you're usually just choosing which of three Minions to bring out, determining little other than whether you take cold damage or psychic.  But with Omnitron, she made him waste his turns replaying TechSing twice after all the equipment was already gone, and Brain Burned his destroyed Drones so that all he could recycle were a couple "fires at the start of the villain turn" Components, which were easily destroyed over and over.

I do plan to try Omnitron eventually with a non-Visionary party, just as I will never again play Fanatic against the Dreamer.  But I thought part of the idea with Sentinels was that "any hero group can beat any villain in any environment".  That ought to go both ways - any hero group ought to have to work at beating any villain in any environment.  Visionary seems to just be an "I win button" against Omnitron, and that's even worse than Fanatic vs. Dreamer, because Visi and Omni are in the same box.  There's no way they weren't playtested against each other, so maybe the designers could have made this match a little less one-sided.

I honestly don't have much trouble with minion heavy villains, Akash is the only one I really get steamrolled by, and that is becasue I love playing her in final wasteland.

Ooh, good thought!  I put her in Insula Primalis for similarly thematic reasons, but Wasteland is even better.

Ha! Have to disagree on that one - being able to avoid Voss's ships is a huge benefit!

Yeah, actually it's about how many targets are in the Environment deck, as AB has triggers tied to that. The Wasteland has the most targets of any Environment we've seen to date. (And I really hope we don't get one with more! :open_mouth: )

I said "nearly".  Yes it'd be nice to get rid of the ships, or the Translocator, or a Forced Deployment.  But all of those together are like 7 cards, with the other 18 being Minions.  A few minions are more or less nasty, so the ability to exercise veto power over them might be somewhat beneficial - but if you find that the next three cards are Minions and you send 2 of them to the bottom (which you must), you might just be bringing the Ship or something similarly nasty closer to being played.

This came up in my game against Kismet on the forum; the other player convinced me to stop shooting at her and letting her block with Abominable Snowmen.  Until we could get rid of the card with a shark on it, we just sat around not attacking for a couple rounds.

Well, she only blocks the first time each turn, so if you have someone who hits multiple times (Chrono, Omni, etc.) you can hit her with a weak one first and then blast her into oblivion for the rest of the turn.

Ok so we have a few more pieces. Who is left in the artwork that we still don't know? Lets speculate.

1) We have the yellow/orange armor guys found scattered throughout a bunch of decks.

Prediction: These guys could be related to Biomancer in addition to the robot look-a-likes we see in Argents deck and Legacys in Tactics. But my money is on them being the invasion force of our big bad cosmic entity.

2) We have the man on Expats "Quick Draw" and in the Sentinels deck "Hipocratic Oath"

Prediction: Expats Father!

3) The Soloman Grundy-esque frankenstien guy seen in Tachyons "Lightspeed Barrage" and in Wraiths Tactics cards

Prediction: I have no idea whatsoever.

4) We have the giant red guy seen in Tempests "Flash Flood" and in the Sentinels "Coordinated Assault"

Prediction: Geeze these are getting hard. No clue. Thought he might have been a gene bound something, but am not sure this is the case at all

5) We have the Sabertooth-esque guy found in Visionary's "Suggestion" as well as Beacons Tactics cards

Prediction: Hello? Mcfly? Anyone home? Again, not a single idea.

6) The "golden" outline of a villain found on Rook City Wraiths incap side

Prediction: Yeah...might be the soloman grundy dude...but I have serious doubts about that. I just didn't want to not have another guess.

7) The robot(s) with a green glowing brain found in KNYFE's deck (and possibly others)

Prediction: Could be related to the Host or our Cosmic Entity. Hard to tell. But they have cosmic-y roots for sure

8) We have the spaceman seen in Sentinels "Black Out"

Prediction: We know his name (I think). It's Riot Ray (flavor text in Beacons Tactics cards). But where he fits in is anyones guess.

9) The black creature in Setbacks "Cause and Effect"

Prediction: I think this is obviously Writhe gone horribly wrong (see his incap art).

10) Ninjas in KNYFE's deck

Prediction: I think these guys are connected to Zhu Long/Operative/Heartbreaker. Like a "League of Shadows" type organization

Have I missed any big ones? There will be a few added to this list when WotC goes live as well.

There is A LOT of ground to cover here in just two expansions. Like, a metric butt ton of characters and story to be explored. What do you guys think? Do I have it right? Wrong? Got a guess where I failed miserably?

Not sure where you got that from.

It's not been "officially" confirmed how many are left. Paul said somewhere in the comment section of the preorder updates that SotM has roughly a 2 year timeline until completion. There has been 1 expansion per year basically since the game came out. I just did the quick math. It also fits with some of the vauge hints I gleened while working at Gen Con.

For quite a while, some of us were sure that GtG had confirmed that there would be six total expansions. Some time relatively recently, GtG made some comments that disabused us of that notion. Some of us now have the notion that there are two remaining expansions. Are we right? Nothing has been definitively announced.

The yellow and orange guys appear in Sky-scraper's deck (I got Wrath earlier today) and the art makes me think they are robots, she's crushing one and another looks like it's been torn or something and blue energy is arcing around them.

If they are robots maybe they fit in with Biomancer? Though I'm still leaning towards F.I.L.T.E.R.

....

Ooh, maybe like the Sentinels from X-men... that could work really well.

FO

I had the same feeling of robots that you did looking at that card. I have my doubts about being related to Biomancer though. I think FILTER might be a better guess.

The main reason I feel this way is Omnitron-X's "Defensive Blast". It's true that not all flavor text matches with the art, but if we are going off the assumption that it does in this case, the picture becomes pretty interesting. The quote is from the comic "Terminus" (which I speculate might end up being the name of either the final expansion and/or our big cosmic bad). X says something to the tune of "End times? These are your end times". Given the close ties that FILTER no doubt has to Progeny and whatever is coming, FILTER seems like a great guess for these dudes.

So I may be missing this somewhere, but do we know who the silhouettes on "Old Tricks--New Allies" in Vengeance Baron Blade's deck are? They aren't the Vengeful Five, that's for sure. Looking at the silhouette, I'd guess that the two on the right are Tantrum and Argentium, and I think the one on the far left may be Choke, but I can't seem to find confirmation anywhere, and have no real clue as to who the two others are (or even where the tentacles are coming from). Anyone have any guesses on this?

Also, in case the news hasn't reached this thread yet--the big red dude with the cross on his chest in Tempest's "Flash Flood" and Sentinels' "Coordinated Assault" is Borr the Unstable.
