Endlings TV show

I was wondering if anyone else notice that Hulu is now showing Endlings, a Canadian TV show about an alien who collects the last of every species? The similarities to SotM stop there though. The whole show takes place on earth and also heavily borrows from Pokemon (catching aliens by shrinking them in to balls), Fantastic Beasts (the ship crashes and a bunch of endlings escape), and Captain Planet (foster kids enlisted to help save the species).

I haven't watched it yet since it's clearly for kids. I just thought it was cool that an element from my favorite game has possibly influenced another property.
