I play Sentinels at least once a week on the videogame, but for Tabletop Day, I wanted to get out the old cards.  I was playing with my mom, who hadn't played in a while, and I had just listened to the GtG origin story extrasode where Christopher said everyone's first game should be against Baron Blade.  So even though it wasn't quite her first time, I decided we should fight the Baron.  Should make for a fun, simple game, right?

My mom decided to play as Ra, because she sort of remembered using him before and chose Atlantis as the environment.  I played as Mister Fixer and the Scholar, because she wanted to see how the Scholar worked.  Normally I don't think Atlantis is as difficult an environment as people say, but today it was pretty rough on us.  But the real killer was Blade's two Living Force Fields and a Backlash Field and realizing we had picked a team with no ongoing destruction between them.  We managed to get Blade down to 1hp on his front side before we lost.

Ouch.

Yeah, I once thought kindly of Ruins of Atlantis, but not so much anymore. >.> It's a rough environment.

Honestly, the reason I didn't believe the Wardens operated out of Atlantis is because, well... I can barely survive a game there, and you're telling me they live there?

I think about it in kind of a “we operate out of these buildings and can use rooms x, y, and z elsewhere” for them using it as a base. Villain fights are wide-ranging affairs that include less predictable parts of the place; either because the villains are trying to use those more exotic power sources or just because it’s a running battle all over the place.

I still really like it, though it definitely takes some careful watching of HP all around. It’s easier when villains have minions to feed the kraken.

I'd like Atlantis a lot more without the Pillars of Hercules.

Though Pillars of Hercules + Take Down is AMAZING.

Atlantis ... How can I express my feelings about that place . Let's just say that compared to Atlantis, Rook City is an environment that is way too friendly towards heroes.
