I am at MagFest and I what to thinking about getting NightMist's Amulets engraved on some glasses. I just need a good image to shop the lady so it can get done. Does anyone have a good image of her amulet?
I never noticed that the center of Nightmist’s Elder Sign is different from the canonical Lovecraft one. I wonder why Adam changed it.
Well, the canonical Lovecraft one looks like this as this is how he drew it in a letter (it was never given a detailed description in his stories). The star shaped one is the invention of August Derleth in some of his "posthumous collaborations" with HPL. In one of these he described it as "the rough shape of a star, in the center of which there appeared to be a caricature of a single giant eye; but it was not an eye, rather a broken lozenge in shape with certain lines suggestive of flames or perhaps a solitary pillar of flame" and this is what entered the popular consciousness via games by Chaosium like the Call of Cthulhu RPG and Arkham Horror.
