Just curious how people are going to run their first OblivAeon games - jump straight in with all new characters? Read all the cards in depth first? Play with you favourite go to team?
How will YOU stop OblivAeon?!
I’m gonna start with the Freedom Five and see where it goes from there
1. Read all the new cards.
2. Try out all the new characters.
3. Throw the Prime Wardens in there like I usually do.

Try out all the new heroes and new environments against all the classic and vengeance villains. Then either the Freedom Five variants or X-treme Prime Wardens against OblivAeon.
Same as the majority: try out the eleven new heroes against old villains first. Then try out the two most interesting-looking scions with a team that looks well-suited to fighting them.
I’m actually the opposite; playing the new heroes is what I’ve BEEN doing, so I’ll try the ObliVAeon scenario. (I think having it in the official version would be easier to get to the table. My version is mostly hand-written, so it’s kind of a mess…)
Definitely gonna try out the new heroes and environments first, then introduce those to people while playing Oblivaeon myself three or so times so I can tell everyone what to expect. Hopefully, that'll be enough to win.
First thing I will do after receiving OblivAeon and read the cards, won't be a OblivAeon game.
It will be a Mirror Match:
Baron Blade / Fright Train / Ambuscade / La Capitan VS Luminary / F6 Bunker / Stuntman / La Commodora in Time Cataclysm
Once I will attack OblivAeon there is two games I want to play :
Using non-human characters (Akash', Lifeline, Tempest, Sky-Sky, Omni) in Earth location (Metropolis, Rook City ...)
Using F5 characters to fight everywhere but Earth.
After that ... We'll see, I guess I will go back to solo villain to test the new decks.
First, I will grab stickers and make the new heroes nemeses to their old selves, and make Dark Mind the nemesis of the full DW. (House rules)
Then, I will run through all of the new hero decks, then play them all in around 5 games (Wonder who the villains will be...?)
Then, I will get non team-associated heroes that I don’t get around to often (e.g. Parse, Skyscraper, Chrono...) and play those against regular villains in the new environments.
Finally, the four Oblivaeon games i am sure to play (though I know it’ll take forever to get through them all))
FV in Megalopolis and other notable cities with Progeny
All 5 Dark Watch in Rook City and other shady places with Dark Mind
Prime Wardens in Outer Space and Crazy Places(c) (tm) with VoidSoul
The new heroes in Oblivaeon locations with noone in particular
And yeah. That’s how I’ll enjoy Oblivaeonmas. (Now I’m picturing the story how Oblivaeon came down as a baby to ultimately destroy everything, and Progeny sneaking in your house to (wait let’s steer this out of dark city) give Sentinels Comics to the good children while wearing a red suit and eating cookies.)
1. Luminary, Akash'Thriya, Lifeline, Harpy, and La Commodora up against Deadline at the Nexus of the Void.
2. Doctor Medico, Mainstay, The Idealist, Writhe, and Stuntman up against Citizen Dawn (for funsies) at Champion Studios.
3. Lifeline, Akash'Thriya, Harpy and Benchmark against Akash'Bhuta in the Maeneryan Refuge.
4. Luminary, La Commodora, and Stuntman against Baron Blade, La Capitan, and Ambuscade in Mordengrad.
5. The Void Guard and the Sentinels against all the enemies (Fright Train, Proletariat, Sergeant Steel, Plague Rat, and Ambuscade) in Fort Adamant.
6. Bring together a team headlined by Legacy and Luminary, plus another classic hero and a couple of the newbies, to take on Oblivaeon.
I’m going to look upon the great monolith that is the collector case while “Also sprach Zarathustra” plays.
We'll probably do what we normally do when I get a new expansion - play some games with the new heroes and environments against old villains, to get used to their decks (I've had quite a few games with the new decks but the people I'll be playing with haven't seen them at all). Eventually we'll set up Oblivaeon and play against him with whatever we feel like (and randomise environments like usual).
But yeah, before all that I shall unleash The Box and shall put All of the Things in it, including my Cauldron decks since I imagine they'll fit as I don't sleeve my cards. And I shall keep an eye out on Tabletop Sim for whenever the person who made my decks uploads the new ones, so I can play with my online friend too :D.

Honestly, I want to assemble a 5 man Dark Watch pretty badly. I do kinda wish they got a second variant set too.
I too am hoping to fit the Cauldron in the Big Box of Mega-Awesomeness without sleeves.
Expoloring the new stuff will be a priority.
One of my goto teams Legacy, TL Tachyon, Visionary (might go unleashed haven't decided), AZ, and Tempest Might be the first to take on the Ultimate Challange, but I will look through it and make an edjucated choice. From the released rulebook my bench will def have SS Ra, and Wraith on close standby.
I'm betting Cauldron won't fit in the Big Box, it likely wasn't designed with extra space in mind. With the new expansion coming, it might not even fit in a regular box, which is gonna be weird! :O
How will I save the Multiverse?
1. Admire the clean design of the collectors case.
2. Open the box go directly to the Scion Characters and find out who Redacted is.
I think in your case the better questions would be:
The first time you were given free reign to tackle OblivAeon with a team/setup of your choice, how did you go about it?
Any tips for getting the most fun out of this scenario?
As another playtester, I'd say:
I did everything random, with H=4. But a ny team can work, some lower tier heroes are excellent in this format because they are better at beating missions and using rewards (Bunker is really good ) . J ust don't plan on your initial team surviving. H=3 is tough, I'd suggest starting out with H=4 or H=5.
Focus on beating some missions against form 1. It is OK if your first hero goes down, your next hero just needs to come back with a vengeance! Also getting awesome mission rewards is super fun.
Takewalker - Since as we all know, The Box is designed to hold all the cards sleeved. I imagine sleeving a card probably doubles its thickness, or thereabouts (depending on the thickness of the sleeves being used, I suppose). Since I don't sleeve my cards I should logically therefore only use half or maybe three quarters of the space in the box, which hopefully will be space enough to fit the Cauldron decks. What I will need at that point will be some dividers to separate said Cauldron decks, since right now they're in individual little plastic bag thingys in a separate cardboard box. But I can figure that out when I get there :P.
I think the first thing I did was the scenario, but the original version… Wasn’t that great. It’s definitely come a LONG way.
I’d probably recommend playing with the new heroes, in the new environments, for a few games, to make sure you are familiar with them.
As for which Scions and such, they’re supposed to be random, and I think it works best that way.
