Well, they weren't kidding about that 9999 damage card.
I wonder if OblivAeon has some effect that makes him immune to his own damage or something, because with that triggering at the start of his turn, that gives those heroes with redirection time to set up.
Or maybe that's the whole idea, considering his whopping 10,000 HP.
I do remember seeing (somewhere, maybe during a demo at GenCon?) that OblivAeon is immune to his own damage. Otherwise Nightmist turns it into a cakewalk ![]()
Well dang. Still a good way to wipe out a Scion, though.
Just going off what was shown in the email, it's cool we get to see a few Scion and Oblivaeon cards, but what I want to know is, look at the background for the Scion cards: That's just a crowd of really sad-looking people. o.o What's going on there?
My random thoughts:
OblivAeon cannot be removed from the game by any alternative means such as Unforgiving Wasteland from the Final Wasteland. You know someone tried this in playtesting and tried to argue they had won because a Skunk Ape had defeated OblivAeon
Rites of Revival stuff: Seems like a better revive now as it sets the hero to max hp the next time they're pulled out of the box. Not sure how many Reward cards a given incapacitated hero will have at one time but it could also be useful to scoop a whole handful at once.
Edit I also love how creepy OblivAeon looks when hes staring at Visionary in The Abyss Stares Back
Look closer.
Or perhaps, look less closely.
In case someone can't find it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gtgames/sentinels-of-the-multiverse-oblivaeon/posts/2063652?ref=backer_project_update
Is that a face in the shadows over the crowd? Looks like Voidsoul
Dammit, Voidsoul, what are you up to now?
Bad stuff.
I was hoping for that Requital Cosmic clarification, but I was also hoping for a Setting Sun Ra one. If he removes his cards from the game and then gets incapacitated, does a different version of Ra have to play without those removed cards? This would apply to bots, constructs, etc. and Unforgiving Wasteland, too.
Come to think of it, Twist the Ether, Fixed Point and Absolute Zero could make for some fun…
Yes, but AZ, Fixed Point and TTE deals infinite damage anyways.
The incapacitation rule states to return all of their non-character cards to the box without specifying zone, so I assume that includes the cards removed from the game. This might be a house rule situation though.
I'm pretty sure that picture is Voidsoul. Also, the people all have red eyes. Great. This won't end badly.
There's a nasty spiky-toothed laughing shadow cast across everybody…
Yup, we're pretty sure that shadow is Voidsoul. Or at least as sure as we can be, with as much of the image obscured by cards.
It certainly matches the icon for Voidsoul in the OblivAeon rulebook page about the Scions.
If any of the people had any of the cards done to them such as rend minds and souls that would probably do a number on me as well
