I don't know why this didn't click before but... Anyone else notice that the black/purple tentacles on Writhe's back look almost exactly like the starry/energy tentacles on Oblivaeon's back?

I knew Writhe was connected to Voidsoul, and he is holding an Oblivaeon shard... but that's worrisome that his form has been shifted to resemble Oblivaeon's form, right?

Have you listened to The Sentinels episode of the podcast? They talk about it there.

I did listen, did I forget something obvious?

Like I said, I know Writhe and Voidsoul are connected and I know how Writhe defeats voidsoul, but I don't remember a direct link between Oblivaeon and Writhe other than the shard.

This is one of the questions asked and seems to address what you are talking about

What effect does OblivAeon coming to their reality have on their powers (increase, decrease, etc.)? Could he call the power back and turn them back into their normal form? His arrival doesn't change the powers of an OblivAeon shard as once they're separate from him they're their own thing. The biggest effect had on one of them is on Writhe as he starts to get whispers of OblivAeon [presumably through his connection to the Scion Void Soul]. He's not going to "call the power back" since he doesn't care. Sure they're more powerful with them, but not strong enough to defeat him (and the amount of power he'd regain from doing so is almost insignificant to him as a percentage of his overall power).

They also mention a bit in the future section about the Shards being bad for them.
