Anyone have examples of games where the characters were right, and it should have been an easy win, but you somehow couldn't pull it off, no matter how many times you tried?

Last night that was me with DW Mr. Fixer, Omnitron-X, and Skyscraper versus Proletariat, Ambuscade, and Biomancer in the Realm of Discord.  Fixer had all the right tools and styles and plenty of spare Links to blow up, and Glamour wasn't even present until late game, so I could use AoE safely.  I just couldn't pull it off after several attempts.

Any basic H=5 Gloomweaver game (should be super easy, no matter the heroes) where the first card play is Strength of the Grave. Them zombies hurt....

Once had that followed by the Pouch for even worse times.

Wager Master with three Wagelings, and against a team that can't deal 4 damage in one round.

Just ran into one that I figured would be a bit challenging, but managable: Dark Visionary and Dark Watch vs. Hammer & Anvil and the four easiest team villains I could think of: Miss Information, The Operative, Greazer, and Challenge Mode Fright Train, in The Block.  Then they sprang Leo's Trap and it was all over.  The only way that team has of destroying a target by means other than reducing it to 0 HP was Tire Iron, but that still requires that damage be dealt, and Fright Train was already at 2 HP, so all damage to him was prevented, and no villain target other than him could be damaged.

Major Flay while Visionary's active coupled with Unshackled Destiny.

UD keeps targets from Dying, Major Flay makes all Villian Ongoings indestructable.

Look at last week's One-Shot for the videogame.

... So doesn't that mean winning is impossible at that point?

Unshackled Destiny prevents a target from being dealt damage that would reduce it to 0 or fewer HP. Destroy effects like Tire Iron or Final Dive can still destroy Major Flay.

Just played against Skinwalker Gloomweaver in the Block.  His first card plays, in order, were Zombie Servant....x5, Strenght of the Grave, then the lady who pulls zombies out of the trash.  A bit later, he plays 2 cards (because a target died in the Block, and then his turn occurred).  It was 2 Profane Zealots...  We couldn't get rid of the Pouch of Bones because zombies kept coming back to heal it.  Plus, our team was PW Captain Cosmic (first to fall), NightMist (last to fall), Scholar (second-to-last to fall), and Ra (second to fall).

*Edit - Forgot to mention that this was a multi-player game on Steam.

I’ve personally consider Profane Zealot is only fiendishly handsome, while Cursed Acolyte is devilishly handsome.
