So, I just finished up a game vs. Apostate. The Argent Adept, Ra, Bunker, the Naturalist, and Haka faced him amidst the chemical vats of Pike Industrial Complex.
Now, the game's nearing the end, and Apostate is alone on the board. AA has struggled to set up this game, but he has an Inspiring Supertonic, and he's looking to grant a power use. Who should he grant power to?
Ra has his Staff, Bunker has a Flak Cannon, Naturalist is a Deadly Crocodile, and Haka is wielding Taiaha.

Ra so he can throw his staff and heal by playing a new staff on his turn.

The Naturalist, so he can turn into a graceful Gazelle! So majestic!

Is this a trick question? Obviously he should give the supertonic to himself so he can sing. Duuuh. xD

All depends on what else AA has out, and what the environment has in play.

AA only had Supertonic and the Harp. Ra didn't have another Staff in hand, but he was holding an Imbued Fire. The only environment card out was Irradiated Cyclohexane Vat.

So, all those heroes can do three points of damage with their power uses (or four in Ra's case if he throws the Staff rather than using his base power). Flak Cannon, Crocodile, and Taiaha all deal three points of damage (since Crocodile buffs itself) - Taiaha hits two targets but that looks to be irrelevant here since it sounds like Apostate is the only non-hero target present. And all damage is being buffed by the vat so that'll be four points of damage, or five if Ra wants to throw his Staff.

Honestly, throw the staff seems to be the winner.

If the player playing Ra doesn't mind, then using the power on the Staff of Ra seems to be the best bet since Imbued fire can give him that boost back on his next play. And then of course have AA heal himself for 2 since he has the harp out with Supertonic.

Throwing Ra's Staff is actually suboptimal. You could deal 5 damage with the staff, and then on his next turn play Imbued Fire and deal 4 damage with his base power. Or you could deal 4 damage with his base power, and then play Imbued Fire and deal 6 damage with his staff.
I just found it amusing that I could have literally picked any of my other heroes to deal the power and the optimal power use would deal 4 damage.
