i visit Serenes Forest (A Fire Emblem site) a bit, and one of the ways FE fans play the game is a draft: As in a group of players take turns picking the characters they are allowed to use during the game, and no other, and then see who can beat the game in the least amount of turns.
Well, today at work, I had an idea: Why not have a Sentinels of the Multiverse draft? I know that noone else has probably done something like this for Sentinels, but every journey starts with a single step.
Rules of the Draft:
- This draft is for five players.
- There will be four rounds during the draft.
- Starting with the player who goes first, each player will choose one of the available heroes, for their team. That hero will be used during the game, and cannot be drafted by another player.
- The player who drafts last in the previous round drafts first in the next round.
- You may use the digital version
Gameplay and Scoring
5) After each player drafts the heroes for their team, they will play four rounds of Sentinels of the Multiverse, using only those the heroes they drafted for their team. The Villains/Environment will be chosen before the draft starts.
5.A) For now, no promos.
6) The order of which heroes play may be changed between games. The order you face the villains cannot.
7) When the game is over, you will score yourself based on how well you did.
- Villain: With some exceptions (cough cough Dreamer) A Villain is worth points equal to their Max HP minus the HP they had at the end of the game. For example: Ambuscade has 50 HP. If they heroes defeat him, 50 (max) minus 0 (the Hp he has at the end) will equal a score of 50. If they fail, but manage to get him down to 15 HP left, then they score 35 points (50-15=35).
- Heroes: For each hero that survives the battle (i.e. Not incapped), you score points equal to half of their HP, rounded down.
- At the end of your games, combine each rounds scores together. The winner is the player who has the most points.
Here is an example of how a round is scored
Abigail is in the draft, drafting Legacy, Ra, Visionary, and The Naturalist. The first round is against Baron Blade. Through a tough fight, Abigail and takes Blade down to 0 HP. Legacy falls, but Ra has 14 HP, Visionary 13 HP and Naaturalist 20.
Since the highest amount of HP Blade has is 70 (40 for front side, 30 for back), Abigail scores the full amount. For her heroes, since Legacy was incapped, he scores no points, but the other three score half of their HP rounded down, scoring 7, 6, and 10 points respectfully, resulting in 23 points. For this round, she has scored 93 points.
So, for the first draft, lets make our villain lineup easy: When you play, the villains you will face (in this order) will be:
Round 1) Baron Blade at Megaopolis
Round 2) Citizen Dawn at Insula Primalis
Round 3) Grand Warlord Voss at Wagner Mars Base
Round 4) Omnitron at Silver Gultch
For scroing reasons, Baron Blade’s max HP is 70
Hopefully we will be able to find and work out the kinks of the rulesset. Anyone interested?
