As someone who isn't a playtester, can I make an observation about FV Tachyon and Spite?

FV Tachyon's power is "Deal 1 target 1 Melee damage; you may move a burst card from your trash to the bottom of your deck, if you do use this power again now". I'm assuming that PL626 would hit each time you cycle through the power causing you to take damage and discard the top 5 cards. As the card says use this power again now, each cycle through is a new power usage right?

If so, wait until PL626 comes out hit him with Hypersonic Assault (or a damage dealing burst then Hypersonic Assault if PL602 is in play) then use the Power phase to loop Tachyon's Power to one-shot Spite one damage at a time. You won’t run out of burst cards (unless you are really unlucky) as you’ll be putting 5 cards into your trash for every one you are putting back into your deck.

Wow, just wow!

Even if the retaliation only happens once. Just get Tachyon’s deck to below 5 then cycle in fodder to 5 then Fleet of Foot, Fleet of Foot, Fleet of Foot, Quick Insight, 3 more bursts for between 7 and 12 pings per turn without even taking into account any damage boosts. Oh, and every other hero draws 3 extra cards per turn.

For any other villain it is only going to be 7, and you can only get that engine going once your deck is empty which is harder to do, but against Spite I don't want to say game breaker, but...

Please say I’ve missed something.

Well for one, tachyons deck will eventually run out from the forced discards, meaning the trash is shuffled back into her deck, and with no burst cards in the trash, the combo stalls, so with the ideal situation of only 1 burst card in the trash when you start and a burst always discarded you can usually only do about 10 damage on a run through you deck. Good but far from infinite.

All of the reactions (damage+discard) from PL626 would happen at the end of your string of powers, not in the midst.

That. See also: Pride and Prejudice. Using Prejudice's power is part of Pride's power, so effects such as PL626 trigger only after both guns have been fired. In the same way, each instance of Blitz is embedded in the one that triggered it, so they only trigger PL626 at the end, one after the other.

I knew I was missing something! I think I got overly excited.

I still think that comboing the three Fleets of Foot and Quick Insight would work. It would be useless against DR, but the idea of The Scholar, or Haka getting three extra cards per turn late game fills me with glee.

That works, just the opposite way, and obviously requires an empty deck and a second card play.

Play quick insight, draw three cards, discard 2.  Play 3 fleet of foot's, drawing the 2 cards you discarded and one more.  With 4 cards in the trash you draw a card, leaving you with no trash and a deck of three cards.

Or with Pushing the limits and HUD goggles:

Play three fleet of foot and 1 more card.  Play quick insight.  Play three fleet of foot and nimble strike.  you now have four in your deck/trash.  Draw 2, one of them is guaranteed to be fleet of foot.

We actually pulled this off with TLT and some other shenanigans.  6 cards a turn drawn was crazy.

EDIT:  Fixed you naughty people.

Not sure if that was the best acronym.

My question is what happens when FV Tachyon is using her power, and sends a shot at a Dynamic Syphon that allows Completionist Guise to use his power to replace Tachyon's character card?

Then the chain stops as Tachyon's power does not allow her to use another power anymore.

Yeah, you Tell that Guise to wait till she is done before switching her to Super Scintific Tachyon.

Hmm, I had been doing reactions to a power immediately when that power was used, instead of after the power was completely resolved, including additional power uses. Good to know…

I don’t think it worked; they’re still naughty!

And last time I checked I wasn’t fixed.

Well then, logically, none of you are people, and thus not the target of my sentence.
