Here are some answers from the livestream earlier. I was only around for the first hour or so; not sure if anyone else took over transcribing after that.

While I like Lady Luminary as a name, I still think that she should have dibs on the name, and it should be Baron Blade who should need an adjective.  Maybe Baron Luminary?

I'm really curious about RPG stuff now that were talking about that stuff more. Since it's the main reality but the multiverse still exists I really want to see the system played with with alternate realties as well. I would love to play in the Luminary variant universe, that one would be awesome to see more offical stuff for fighting the heroes and getting to play as alternate versions of baddies.

(Alas, that I could not be there to ask whether the RPG is still expected at GenCon 2016.)

I'm pretty confident the answer is "no" here, assuming you're asking about the release. They've got quite a lot on their plate before then. There promised demos at GenCon 2016, though.

Demos are doable now, but by GenCon should be more in line with the final product.

The starter set isn't going to be too hard, the full rule book will be harder.  After that it is new characters and story for the books.

Twitch has the feature built in now.

Also, where it says it is not a typo I think it was. I remember that answer.... I think (but will not guarantee) that I was asking about the relationship between Bugbear and Nightmist and why Nightmist was crying. Was it because she was falling for him or because she couldn't save him, or something along those lines. I'll try to go back and look one of these times and confirm that.

I'm watching the stream in post right now. Chirstopher's response to the question about NightMist and Bugbear was "Something other than those two."

Ms. Luminary reminds me of the name Ms. Marvel, which I dislike. It's time to move past naming women in relation to men. 

Sure, except that Girl Luminary is by definition a character who is just a female version of a male character, so if that naming convention is appropriate anywhere, it has to be appropriate here.

Ah, "Ms. Marvel".  Super progressive back in the day (when "Ms." the new way of NOT naming women in relation to men), awkward and dated now.  Progress is an amazing thing!

I still see the woman as the most true Luminary, but for those who want to differentiate it, "Lady Luminary" has such a fine ring, does it not?

Oddly, I'd not considered Tony Taurus as Heartbreaker.  That's neat!

Foote asked two questions.   The second part of Christopher's answer was in regards to whether any villains besides Kaargra made into the arena.   This is the question and response from the livestream

Nothing in that response makes me think he was inferring Tony is Heartbreaker. 

And the moment I find that piece Christopher directly answers my question in the AMA and proves me wrong

Yes.

Because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but also, he was out of other options.

That... doesn't really state that he's a villain, either.  It even kinda refutes it, since Tony got into the Colosseum, and "other villains," (which I read in context as "villains other than Kaargra") did not.

Then again, the definition of "villain" here is kinda hazy, since Char got in, and he's a bad guy by any means.

One thing I really really really appreciate about Sentinels is that there's little appreciable difference between the names given to male characters and female characters. Several characters do have names that identify or imply gender, but it's not the rule.

Gendered names... Let's see...

On the villain side we have Baron Blade, The Matriarch, The Chairman (although given the "hides in the shadows" character type, I could totally see a woman being the "Chairman"), Man-Grove (not that Man-Grove really has a gender), Magman, and Miss Information.  I'm not counting the Ennead, even though you could figure out their genders if you're familiar with the gods that they are inspired by, or Calypso (or Ra) because those are names rather than titles.

On the hero side we have Mr. Fixer, Stuntman, and La Comodora.  You could make a case for The Harpy as well, although the sexism there is more a little less direct.

That's 9 or 10 characters in total out of at least 100.  I am slightly amused that Lillian appears on the list twice.

Villains: Baron Blade, La Capitan, Chairman, Grand Warlord Voss, The Matriarch, Miss Information, and Wager Master. Arguably Citizen Dawn as "Dawn" is typically a woman's name.

Heroes: Expatriette, Mr. Fixer, La Comodora, The Harpy, and Stuntman

So 12, possibly 13. Not counting characters in the Vengeance-style decks.

Harpies are pretty explicitly female.

Interestingly, La Capitán is a mixup of the male and female terms in Spanish.

One could also make a case for Dr. Medico, but I suppose that's hard to avoid if you're using a romance languange (and not mixing things up, Capitan-style).

Though “master” is becoming more gender-neutral. There’s even an example in the Multiverse: “Master of Magic.”

But, yes, the predominance of one-word codenames which describe powers and don't allude to the bearer's gender or ethnicity is one of the places in SotM where you can really see how Christopher's favorite comic is X-Men, and I certainly appreciate that.

I love seeing it. Previously I'd primarily seen this sort of naming in the X-Men and among City of Heroes players.

Personally, I feel like the variant Luminary is the one that had that name first and the Baron just appropriate it when he decided to (momentarily) play hero.

So she's just Luminary and he's Luminary: the Plagerist.

It's more or less become the standard for new characters across the past few decades - look at the Teen Titans OCs (Raven, Cyborg, and Starfire), or the members of Youngbloods (a pretty awful comic for gender equality in general, but I'll admit that I couldn't tell you based on names alone which of Chapel, Masada, Riptide and Photon are women*), or a bunch of other characters of more recent vintage.  The Legion of Superheroes even gave up their absurd "boy" "girl" and "lass/lad" style names in favor of classier stuff like "Umbra" and "Polestar" for a while.

But, certainly, it was X-Men that set the tone and led to that becoming the norm - and it's chiefly in X-Men where characters in that style are the majority of famous and respected icons, rather than C-listers.  That's part of what makes it so sweet to see that convention picked up in Sentinels.

• It's Riptide and Masada.  Yes, like that laser gun that Chrono-Ranger uses.  See, she's Jewish, and that's the name of a fortress near Jerusalem.  You know, because Con was created by (and acts like) Unity - now confirmed!

After seeing Blade Luminary’s incap art, I’m left wondering whether the one for Lady Luminary will not be of her incapacitated, but showing a vengeance-filled Lady Luninary, cradling her only daughter dying in her arms and thinking how she will be Lithuania’s Last Luminary. All the while Legacy of Destruction laughs maniacally at what just transpired.

Wait, where was Luminarys incap art shown? I’m not seeing a kickstarter update.

It's not in a KS update*.  Adam livestreamed drawing the art yestereday.

*That's not quite true.  There was an update that advertised the livestream.  But it wasn't directly in any KS update.

There have been some fun story bits revealed/confirmed during the stream today, but it's all been oral.

The most important one is probably confirming that Guise is the guy from Hostage Situation/Final Dive.
