Am I the only one dissipoined that the oversized foils in the kickstarter does not include the Oblivaeon and Vengeance style oversized cards? That leaves is with 18(?) large cards not foiled, which is a large amount!

If it is the matter of cost or time I rather wait or pay more to get the complete collection foiled (and even better alternative art too!)

Help us Greater Than Games, you are our only hope!

Edit: 10+5+3= 18,not 23...

it's a dealbreaker for me as well.  by that i mean i would pay $30 (or a bit more, or whatever) to get all of the villains all foily, but i won't pay money to have some foils and some not.  i don't even need new art -- it's just that things must match!

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't think it's that big a deal to leave out the ones they did. The vengeance villains and Oblivean sets are special separate sets, and the single villains are the main important ones that deserve foils. *shrugs. *

I'm pretty much with Chrono on this one. Vengeance style villains and Oblivaeon are both their own experiences, so it's not like we'll have some villain foil next to the normies, like we might with the heroes. Having never been swayed by foil or holo cards in my time (unless they are just too nifty in their selected use of particular holographic 'windows' instead of just shiny all over the card) my opinion might carry less weight, but for me the core villains are definitely the most important for any such treatment, as they see the table at least three times as often.

This isn't a deal-breaker for me.  However, I think it's fair to note that, without including the team villains, the foil villain pack does represent worse value for money than the foil hero pack.  The foil hero pack costs twice as much as the regular hero variant pack, but as well as being foil it contains all the standard hero cards.  The foil villain pack costs twice as much as the regular oversized villain pack, but does not contain any extra cards.

If it included OblivAeon cards it would be a matter of time since they would be need to be fully tested.  It'll be a bit of a stretch I think to make sure new heroes are ready for the main FOIL pack.

Yeah, getting all of the new hero cards playtested before the foil pack is going to be a chore, and getting Oblivaeon fully tested as well is more of a chore.

I agree that it will be more playtesting that will need to be done, but 3 more things to playtest (assuming Oblivaeon, Aeon men and Scions get oversized cards) is not a big deal compaired to the 11 new decks + all the promos that already need to be done.

That is why I rather get the foils of everything and wait until after Gencon if needed, so we can have a complete collection.

There are 12 Oversized Villain Character Cards in OblivAeon. 2 for OblivAeon and 1 for each of the 10 Scions. Hero Character Cards are also a lot easier to get to the finalized state than it is for the Villain Character Card.

Yeah, after so very long the playtesters know how to deal with heroes, an their powers are a fairly small part of their deck. Villains are a bit harder, whole new play modes are even harder than that, and the villain card has a lot more information on it. it is very much a big deal.

I too wish a complete foil villain pack would be available. It would definitely bother me to have some plain villains and some foil ones, even if Vengeance-style/OblivAeon villains don't get mixed with regular ones.

Wouldn't it be better to make a complete pack and delay it until OblivAeon is actually released? Seems like a lot of people would much rather wait longer and have all the foil.

I got the impression that the 5 OblivAeon Shield cards will also be oversized.

+1 to waiting and getting all the foils, but I totally understand if they don't go that way.

I cannot currently afford to do it regardless, but I'm another in the camp of "more likely to buy if it has all the foils, even if it means waiting."

I would definitely prefer all the cards being foiled and waiting, but I don't know if they would need to delay the heroes as well to keep the price at the right levels.

I agree that all should be foiled. I'm not buying this pack because I already own it in the Oversized Villains Pack that JUST came out. The big appeal of the other foil pack for me was not even the shiny stuff...it was the alt. art on EVERY hero...

I talked with Paul about this yesterday, and I wanted to come in here and give you the final word on this topic of conversation.

10 PRINT The Villain foil pack will not be including cards that are not currently in the Oversized Villain Pack.

20 GOTO 10

We introduced this pack because it was a special thing we could do for this Kickstarter that would also not increase production time. We would not want to add the Vengeance, VotM, or OblivAeon Villains cards without also doing new art for them, and that means more time spent drawing for Adam.

And that's pretty much the final word.

No. Basically, the same deal applies to the foil Villains as to the foil Heroes.

that's not made clear in the Kickstarter announcement- it suggests the opposite by mentioning retail.

That is very final Craig, although not really because it's an endless loop.

Though there are no endless loops in Sentinels of the Multiverse, Hmmm. . .

The foil Heroes and Villains will be available in limited quantities, perhaps even through some retailers, through 2016.

So does the Villain Foil Pack come with new artwork? If so, that is not clear on the campaign page and that would be cool. For the cards that are not in the Oversized Villain Pack, can you just foil the existing artwork? I think people would be happy with that because it would give us a full foiled set. I don't need new artwork for them :)

FWIW, I'd be perfectly fine with the existing Vengeance, VotM, and OblivAeon artwork getting foiled and added to the collection (or a second add-on, or whatever makes sense monetarily), just to simply have a complete set of foiled villains.

I think the problem most unsatisfied customers are feeling right now is without those villains, the entire foiled collection feels incomplete and so many are not even bothering with the foiled heroes and villains currently being offered.  (For my money, I'm all in with whatever you're offering.  Glass half full and all that.)

The existing Villain pack and the new foil pack have the same artwork, which is different than the original artwork that came with the decks.

But it's only different in that it's a new layout - a blown up version. Maybe I don't remember them all correctly (and will look closer later). But I'm thinking of Baron Blade. It's the same drawing, jut bigger. But maybe there is more too it than that - layout and design time?

No it's new art for the Oversized Villian Pack that was part of the VotM preorder originally.  This Foil pack will use the same new art that came with that pack.

False. Adam drew all new art for the Oversized Villain Cards that is distinct from their original versions.

If you have the original set of oversized cards (missing, eg, Chokepoint), then it has the same drawing. But the new pack has new art.

Being a die-hard Sentinels fan and wanting these things that won't be available anywhere else (All of these foil oversized villain packs) and needing to save money is going to give me an aneurysm. That's an extra $50-$60 on the pledge. And only a week to decide!

Someone just kill me now!
