Going to play my first game of vengeance.

Now that classes are over I am working on knocking out some of my to do list. First thing up, my first game against the vengeance heroes. My gaming group hasn't gotten around to playing them since they prefer 1 villain at the time. So therefore sometime in next week I am going to set up my gaming table and have a five Villian battle. So any suggestions of how people want to see this battle go with what heroes and location. If I figure out how to do it I may try recording it and posting to YouTube since not many vengeance games up there

I'd avoid Megaopolis or Rook City for your first attempt.  I'd highly recommend Legacy for the first attempt and a character who routinely does damage to all non hero targets like Tempest or Ra.  

I still haven't tried the Vengeance style game, either. I think I'll go Freedom Five vs. Vengeance Five for my first shot at it. 

Also suggest trying a smaller game at first, maybe 3 heroes. Just a suggestion, but we've found it more enjoyable to deal with. 

ya Rabit, I can see where you come from with the smaller game but if I am going to take 2 hours to do this by myself, I want to go big or go home. I am planning on heroes that can do multiple damage, thats why I was planning on Tachyon being in there. Also thinking if I dont do a freedom five team then throw in skyscraper, since she has some nice splash damage.

Wait how does Ra do damage to everyone routinely. The only card I can think of that would be routinely aka every turn is the one that does damage based off number of villian ongoings and that is if you get it out.

Scorched Earth, Drawn to the Flame, Inferno, and Flame Barrier.   Drawn to the Flame deals damage based on the number of villain Ongoings in play but with a Staff of Ra in play and a Legacy boost you are dealing two fire damage without any villain ongoing out.  I list Flame Barrier since it reacts the first time a target deals Ra damage which there are a lot of targets out there with V5 that could deal damage.  

Also, the effects of cards such as Take Down (which generically affect "villain cards") are vastly magnified when you're up against more villains than usual >:).

That plus Hypersonic Assault is magnified just as much. Funnily enough one of the best Hero groups against the Vengful 5 is the Freedom 5

We did F5 vs. V5 twice this weekend, once in the Dok'Thorath Capital and once in the Realm of Discord.

The first game, the Dok'Thorath civil war basically won the game. We and the V5 took so much damage, between Orbital Bombardments and just Civilians and Minions shooting everyone, that even though we came close to winning, it felt like we were mostly dodging civil war battles. It was a ton of fun, though, and we locked the Villains down for three rounds in a row (Heroic Interception and then two rounds of Accelerated Assault). We wound up with just us and Proletariat alive, and the environment killed all the heroes, leaving Prole with about 7 HP.

The second game was a grindfest, but in a good way. Friction was a beast, but we took out her Shock Dampeners and Blade's Physique rather quickly, so they handled themselves. Bunker got early damage resistance and a grenade launcher and just blasted Fright Train each turn for the extra Nemesis + Engine of Destruction damage. Absolute Zero took a long time to set up, but once he did, he lit up the board. Tachyon never saw a Lightspeed Barrage (ever, in the whole game), but Sonic Vortex is great against the V5 when you've gotg Inspiring Presense, Galvanize, and ~10 Burst cards in your trash. Wraith got her Razor Ordnance and Micro Targeting Computer out really quickly, and with Legs' support she was doing crap-tons of damage… especially to Ermine.

In the end of the second game, we had lost Legacy and AZ, and no one else had more than 5HP. It came down to Proletariat again, and one more round would have killed us, but we brought him down.

At the end, I triumphantly cried, "We have save the Realm of Discord!" and we both kinda went, "Hm." All things being equal, the V5 could probably have the Realm of Discord, since neither I nor my wife have any real estate there.

That made me laugh out loud.

Vengeance sounds fun, my wife's family got it, but have never really played it. They only got it for the new heroes. I think I'll try it out next I visit.

Finally got the game in even though my wife spent most of it yelling at me. It was freedom five vs vengeance five in the freedom tower. Legacy and tachyon teamed up to control what the villains could do. In the mean time wraith and absolute zero did the damage. Bunker spent most of the game trying to figure out how to get his suit on. An unexpected surprise was absolute zero activating his room in the freedom tower and getting his cold splash damage going. Due to buffs from legacy and and his hands and his bedroom, he was doing 4 damage to all villains a turn and the environment helped out with two. Unable to dublicated himself proletariat, baron blade used him as a shield for his team. Once fell, friction and freight train were not far behind. Baron blade and ermine thru up their defenses and tried to protect themselves but after some quick ongoing destruction by the wraith and tachyon, absolute zero dragged both of the villains into his room and froze them while the wraith used her throwing knifes to gag barons blades promise of others coming to avenge him. Bunker finally decided to use that moment to come in and ask the other 4 what he missed.
