We could really use: a WW2 Haka variant, the WW2 Argent Adept, I don't know who'd be the fifth to make it a full team... and then a WW2 Environment deck that lets us punch Hitler in the face. :D

How about Fyodor Ramonat and his War Zepplins as a villain deck?

I love Gramps, and I would love to see him have a team and a fight of his own.

I was thinking Omni X or CR maybe? A tempest variant could be cool if it was a different alien than M'kk. Tempest has always had a freedom fighter vibe for me that fits WWII

For that suggestion, you may use a power now.

I'd love WWII Expat, the story would be ridiculous, but Expatriette suddenly dropped through time into a town in occupied France, who wouldn't love that comic?

I actually made a Fyodor Ramonat deck that I need to work on and post on bgg, but I bet an official one would be amazing.

There's a fan-made World War II environment deck that contains Hitler and loads of Naxis and stuff...so you can kick his arse there :D.

As much as I love FFG, I don't see what they have to do with this. Don't

Back on topic though: I was expecting this to be a topic about how Legacy and Bunker are the only characters with promos where each promo is actually a different character, instead of simply the same character in a different form. Well, actually, I guess Golem Unity is debatable… But regardless, I'd like to see another Legacy and another Bunker promo- cards that are actually them and not someone else.

That being said, WW2 variants of other characters would be pretty awesome. Or maybe even a villain variant? Baron Blade's backstory states that his father fought Legacy's… Granted, that's Cold War, but regardless, it could be interesting to see such. And then there's the Chairman- crime lords and gangs can be repurposed to fit any era.

The Kvothe Six-String promo of the Adept is a different person - going by his costume and background he's presumably a Virtuoso of the Void from back in the Mediaeval era. I don't know what connection he has to any existing characters other than that, though (if any), other than being one of Drake's predecessors.

Golem Unity is apparently a golem who thinks she's Unity, so must be a different entity - a theory popped up during the last mass of character reveals (for the upcoming Villains expansion) that she might be that techomancer-type character whose name I've forgotten. Actually, I think it was Choke.

A WWII Haka I'd imagine in the Pacific theatre, mainly because of his Maori background and to underscore how big that war was, not everyone fought the nazis.

I could see a WWII version of Expat, not as her, but as a rogue commando with a penchant for overwhelming firepower.  none of her weapons wouldn't work for that  era.

Scholar might have been around during that period, but I'm not sure he'd have gotten involved. As levels of crises go, geopolitics is a little different than true world being invaded by aliens stuff.

Changing some lore around, Ra is technically immortal, but the staff was entombed at the time. someone could ahve unearthed the tomb during the North African campaign (probably a Brit) and reinterred the staff after the war out of fear that it would fall into the wrong hands.

Both Fixer and Nightmist promos could be done for their mentors or mentors mentors, Fixer learned from someone, and someone was keeping Gloomweaver in check all those years. Again, not sure either of their predecessors would have been involved, Fixer could have learned from martial artists from a wide background and, barring some Indiana Jones level storyline, the mystic protectors of earth probably weren't concerned as much with the fate of Europe (now, throw in an ark of the covenant and we're cooking.)

Just some thoughts.

*Ahem* With no thought whatsoever as to balance, I present...

Anzac Haka

HP: 33

Steadfast

Power: Haka deals 1 target 1 projectile damage. Until the start of your turn, redirect damag dealt by that target to Haka.

The card image would be Haka in a NZ army uniform with a rifle, looking tiny in comparison, slung over his shoulder.

Emphasise his ability to tank more than smash. It also makes Haka of Shielding better as you can boost it whehn you know big hits are coming your way.

Maybe a Joe Diamond card for Nightmist?

Joe supposedly disappeared in the twenties, and he was more of an expat gunslinger than a mage type character (at least, going from Arkham Horror which is where he's from) maybe Dexter Drake, after the battles in Arkham went into World war two to fight the (whatever the occult nazi ministry was in Hellboy) and after the war took on Nightmist as a student as he reached old age.

100% agreement on more WW2 Promos and a Villain, I'd buy it as an expansion, for that matter.

BTW, Kvothe is an import from an incomplete trilogy called the Kingkiller Chronicle. Just punch the name into Google. The reverse of the Kvothe card is a bartender, which matches the Kvothe from the trilogy.

One of Kvothe's many other names being Six-Strings. From what I read, Argent Adept was inspired to some extent by Kvothe?
