I love to play with editing and layout in Microsoft Publisher and Photoshop. This is a supplement I made for one of my favourite games, Sentinels of the Multiverse!

At my house, we each read the backstory of the hero we’re playing as in that game (plus the villain). I’ve been working on this printable book that mirrors the standard rulebooks and has the bios of any promotional alts for heroes and villains that aren’t in print elsewhere. It also has the flavour text for the environments!

It’s still a work in progress, but I’d love some extra eyes on it before it’s printed.

I'll be putting the final version up on BGG, and the best way I've found to print it is to use Staples's online print submission service.

*Massive update for Villains of the Multiverse, Including pullout*

Google Docs - PDF - Advance Release!

...And Im still missing official text on the Enclave and the Capital...

Or, try the new, tablet-friendly version!

This looks brilliant. I'm downloading it now and i'll let you know what I think once I've read it.

All the flavour text is up on the Spoiler sheet.

That's super cool! I've been thinking about making a bio-book for myself; where did you get the dotty background for the pages?

I found Guise's text quite difficult to read with the colours. I think if you could change the background to something else it would look better. Other than that it looks amazing

THIS IS EXACTLYT WHAT I WANTED!!!

But, the text doens't look like it has all the supplementary info. Will it eventually include everything? Even the bios created by Christopher on blog posts? Because THAT would be brilliant.

I like it, are you the one that posted something similar on board agem geek? that was indivual pages, which made printing it out easier.

I adapted some text from the spoiler sheet, but it's not the type of blurb I need. I made due. Thanks for the head start.

The halftone pattern came from this photoshop tutorial:

If you were making your own, what would you change?

Yes, I posted the originals on BGG. I had to rebuild it from scratch since then, though. Once I have it finished, I'll reup it in different formats. The way it's set up right now, you can print it at the same size of the standard manuals.

No, I'm pretty sure the single-pages version that was posted to BGG in the last couple days came from the only inividual to be banned from the forums here (twice).

Oh, your format and style are great; I was just considering putting together a coffee-table-type book that collected all the SotM bios.

Hear that GTG? Once the story arc's complete, I'd totally pay for an art/bio book!

I'll give it here the same degree of attention I gave it on Twitter last week. For the first time ever, I have put somebody into my "blocked" list at BGG. It's that individual.

I have always found BGG to be a community that puts a lot of effort into being positive and awesome, the occasional thread or two excepted. I cried a bit inside that night.

The order is there so that you print it out, and make it into a book, putting the pages on top of each other (some upside down), then folding.

That's what i thought, but it makes viewing on tablets troublesome. Since I can view PDFs on my iPad through iBooks, is it possible to make a "e-book version? Each page of the book is it's own page in the e-book?

Also, I don't know if this is slated in a ne wupdate, but a table of contents would be awesome!

I am loving this book! It's coming along nicely!

Most pdf readers can automatically print in booklet form, so there's no need for the weird layout.

I personally would like to read it on ipad, since I hate printing things out when it's not necessary. This format forces you to print it if you want to read it comfortably, so I second the request for a standard one-page-per-page pdf.

Right! So, if you were to submit the file to a document printing service (I use Staples), the sheets will nest perfectly, as-is, into a booklet just like the official ones. If you took the staples out of a comic (or a Sentinels booklet) and separated the leaves, you would find the exact same thing.

You will also notice that the paper size is 11 X 17 ". That's so once you trim it, it is the exact size as the official books! (8.5 X 11 " is too small).

Thanks for checking it out!

The only thing I noticed was that in the box "Crisis: Freedom Six," Absolute Zero's full title is cut off by the picture of Iron Legacy.

This is great stuff, though! It might be fun to sprinkle some speech bubbles with flavor text from the cards in there, just as little side-bars or suchlike.

One issue, and I don't know if this is intentional or not, is that Young Legacy's bio is actually Beacon's. I don't know if you knew that or cared, but it is something to consider. Young Legacy has her own bio, different from Beacon's. Me myself, I don't care, but I thought you might want to be more accurate

Two things I can think of off the top of my head. One is including all the heros and villains. With the glossary and turn order at the end, I could just have this in the box instead of all the other rule books. Two would be to include the complexity/difficulty level and nemesis icon. I know that's a lot of hard work so I understand if you don't have time. But that would be the preverable icing on the cake!

I agree on the suggestion to include all the hero promos. I'd love to have a single document to find everything in, rather than having to locate the rulebook for the particular expansion.

I'm actually confused by the timelines. There seem to be at least three timelines: One in which Paul Parsons VIII dies, another in which Pauline Parsons dies (and Paul Parsons becomes Iron Legacy), and the one that becomes the main timeline, in which both survive and Pauline Parsons adopts the name Beacon. Which timeline is the "America's Newest Legacy" image from? The incap image is definitely from the Iron Legacy timeline, but why is she wearing the Legacy costume and using the Legacy name if her father is still alive?

Young Legacy exists in all three

Before the split happens you see

Before the battle at Mars

She fights alongside the stars

And her code name is Young Legacy

She is from the timeline where Finest Legacy is killed. This would have been the scenario if Iron Legacy hadn't got through the Time Cataclysm, or at least I think so.

You can find her bio on the app

The promo America's Newest Legacy is from before the split, both Legacy and Young Legacy were at the battle against Baron Blade in the original timeline (before Iron Legacy hospitalised both of them creating another timeline split).

If it helps think of Young Legacy as the child who wants to be just like daddy when she grows up, she's happy to stand in his shadow until the time is right for her to step up on her own.

By the time of tactics she's grown a little and doesn't want to be stuck in her father's shadow anymore, so she took a temporary new identity that isn't just Legacy Jnr. from the public point of view so she can stand on her own two feet and not have everyone comparing her to daddy.

The only bio I've found for YL is two lines long:

Like her father, Pauline Felicia Parsons inherited the Legacy powers, and also developed some new abilities …
It's from the wiki, and doesn't have much flavour. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Actually, this is something I could use some help with. I tried to place them in something resembling chronological order (i.e. canon timeline), but truthfully, it's way over my head. Can anybody help with this?

The only thing I noticed was that in the box "Crisis: Freedom Six," Absolute Zero's full title is cut off by the picture of Iron Legacy.

In order to make it all fit in the box, I had to choose between "Absolute Zero: Elemental W." or "A.Z.: Elemental Wrath".

Do people have a preference, or a better idea?
