Wager Master vs Nightmist, Rogue KNYFE, Setback, and Cpt. Cosmic in Atlantis.
1st Villain turn: Starts with 3 Wagelings, and Not All He Seems in play
Pick A Card ends in a bust. Nothing happens.
1st Hero turns: Nightmist plays her Amulet. KNYFE just uses a power. Setback drops Looking Up. Cosmic plays some constructs.
1st Enviro turn: Front of Power gets played.
Wager Master plays An Unwise Wager.
Nightmist plays Mists of Time
"Umm...did that just happen?"
Game over. Heros lose.

Well there had to be some reason her teammates and friends hadn't been working harder to get her back on their plane of existence by the time Tactics is taking place...

I'm sure you could have a quicker game against the Dreamer, by doing unwise things =)

Pretty easy to end the game on the first hero turn vs. Dreamer, we had an unfortunate game where Guise played Beefcake and redirected damage to Dreamer. Illusory Demon with Dark Hero in play and 4 heroes.
When we realized Dreamer was the lowest non-hero target at 4 hp. . .

I... don't understand how that's faster than the one posted, that has to happen on the second Villain Turn. Guise can't play a card before his turn and Illusory Demons only deal damage at the end of the Villain Turn.
EDIT: Unless Don't Dismiss Anything (or similar) put Total Beefcake into play and the Treacherous Ape was the one dealing damage.

Last Saturday, I saw a game won before a hero got a turn.

This sounds like a situation in which a rewind button would be perfectly warranted.

Wager Master + H wagelings? That seems like the fastest a game could possibly go.

Losing to the Odds. If all heroes either start at odd or even HP, if a card deals them damage to make them all go to even, then they win.

The wagelings are still faster, since it triggers at the start of the villain turn, rather than the end. But yes, that could work too.

This actually happened to us our very first time playing Wager Master. I skipped right over it, forgetting Wager Master obviously counts as the final target, but my friend caught it and said "Um…we just lost before we started." I was about to post about it when I saw the title, so thanks for beating me to it =P

Not faster, just an example of a game where the Dreamer's alternate lose came into play suddenly and unexpectedly.

The fastest game I remember was Advanced Baron Blade at GenCon two years ago before the booth opened. Three turn complete destruction thanks to Chrono Ranger and Legacy.

I cannot forget my first game of sentinels. Fighting Omnitron in Atlantis. After a few rounds "Hey, we're gettin the hang of this game." Then...Font -> electro pulse = TPK. "Hmmmm. Maybe we're not getting the hang of this..." The fact that you don't win every game is part of the beauty.

If you get "Not all he seems" Against WM first turn and you have a healer in your party(Like Omnitron-X with his innervation Ray), and WM deals everyone some form of damage on the first turn, winning on Round 2 is totally doable. Maybe not the fastest out of everyone's stories, but still pretty short.

Can someone explain what happened in that game that meant it lost so easily? I can't even remember what Mists of Time does (it's been ages since I've played Nightmist) but as I don't have the Wager Master yet I don't think it'd help much if I dug up the deck and had a look...

It's the one that makes the cards in NightMist deck and trash switch places. As he had no trash, the deck meant became empty. Not All That He Seems, heroes lose if a hero deck becomes empty.

We played Wager Master twice yesterday and the same thing happened each game. Wagelings, Losing to the Odds, win on the second villain turn.
The other table playing Wager Master had a better time.
Now the game against Kaargra Warfang in the Enclave of the Endlings.. that was awesome =)
