If you could nominate a theme song for Sentinels of the Multiverse, what would it be?  I would choose Dreamline by Rush.

I love the music from the video game!  It's super-catchy.  Sometimes I start up the game just to listen to it...

I think each hero needs their own theme song. I nominate "Sole Survivor" by Asia for Haka. Yes it is a bit of an old song, but then Haka is no spring chicken...

I think that Heroes by William Joseph could make a good theme for Legacy.

Also, the Ennead should use this as their theme.  It includes Ra and Anubis, but otherwise it's perfect.

I can't necessarily remember all of them off the top of my head, but here are some that I remember:

Unity: Unity, by Shinedown

Absolute Zero: Absolute Zero by Stone Sour

Fanatic: anything by Killswitch Engage; particularly Holy Diver or Light in a Darkened World

Tachyon: FLASH! (aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh)

ExPat: Scream Aim Fire, by Bullet for my Valentine

Argent: Sgt. Pepper ("What would you do if I sang out of tune; would you stand up and walk out on me? Well lend me your ear and I'll play you a song, and I'll try not to sing out of key. Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends...")

NightMist: Ghostbusters theme

Omni-X: Time Warp, from Rocky Horror

Naturalist: This Animal I Have Become, by Three Days Grace

Mainstay: THIS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ajhzlq42f0

Dr. Medico: I Am the Doctor, from the Doctor Who series 5-7 OST

Writhe: U Can't Touch This

That's not Sergeant Pepper, that's "With a Little Help from my Friends", from the album Sergeant Pepper('s Lonely Heart's Club Band), and it's "What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, and I'll try not to sing out of key".

Sorry, I like the Beatles ;).

The song in question, incidentally, is called "With a Little Help From My Friends."  Its most famous cover is probably by the recently late Joe Cocker, and I think was used as the theme for the 1980's sitcom The Wonder Years, starring Fred Savage (who is probably better known to most of the forumites here as the sick kid from the Princess Bride.)

That works, but I think that we should go for the Ur example of Ominous Latin Chanting: O Fortuna.

(As a third choice, Two Steps from Hell's Archangel seems thematically appropriate as well.)

I think there are better choices than O Fortuna, since all of Carmina Burana is about as secular as it's possible to be while still being (at least partially) in Ominous Latin. No God involved at all.

I'd prefer a Dies Irae for Fanatic. Any Requiem that gets shouty should have one (so not Fauré). Mozart? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0T7eMctuJLQ Or Verdi? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDFFHaz9GsY Text is about the day of Judgement.

Both great selections.  Makes me want to play Smite the Transgressor and throw down some Martyr damage.

Verdi over Mozart, Mozart is much more Redeemer Fanatic, all flying about setting up attacks, less I'm in your face Smiting you.

I was thinking PW, she's my favorite now, outside the Arena, mostly I really love the evolution of the Character seen in the base powers.

At first she doesn't really care about allies, she's jumping in the middle of the badguys and smiting all of them.

Then she returns, wiser and more cautious.  Strategically planning the smiting.

Lastly we have her aiding her team, leading from the middle of the fray, back in the badguys face, but this time thinking like a leader.

She is Epic.

Also the power and it's awesome synergy with Undaunted and damage boosts is fantastic.

I do like O Fortuna, but I'm tired of hearing it and tired of singing it, because the alto part at least is extremely dull. The only interesting moments are finding the somewhat counter-intuitive first note from the opening chord (which I still have to think about to get right despite singing it many times) and the rhythm in the non-soprano parts in the last line being different to the very prominent soprano rhythm and thus difficult to count correctly. Other than that it's pretty boring to sing and that means choirs struggle to maintain the intensity during the low volume bits without gradually getting louder, so it's usually far less effective than it should be.

Completely unrelated to theme music, but the third movement of Carmina Burana is called Veris leta facies and it's simple and beautiful and graceful and it's my favourite movement in the whole piece, and deserves to be heard more. I also like the ones about drinking and sex and the tenor solo as a swan singing about how he's been killed, cooked and eaten.

Two pieces that I think would work well as a theme for Legacy - and, in either case, maybe more for Paul VII than Paul VIII - are either Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" or the theme from Alan Silvestri's score for "Captain America: the First Avenger" (which latter is the part played on the DVD menu, just so you know what I'm thinking of). They're pretty similar in style.

For Expat, Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" would be pretty fitting.

Setback could use "Danger Zone" from "Top Gun."

Parse strikes me as a woman who would appreciate the intricacies of Bach's "Goldberg Variations."

We've thought about this, too, except we called it "entrance music" ala boxing/mma and generally assumed you'd only get a little blip (generally, but not always, the beginning) at the beginning of a turn. Whether it's the whole song or just a snippet would influence the decisions. But some agreed upon ones, in our circle:

Absolute Zero- "Ice Ice Baby" (natch)

Legacy- "America: F*** Yeah" (presumably with big band and dubstep arrangements for Grandpa and Baby Legacy, respectively)

Bunker- "Iron Man"

Wraith- "Creeping Jenny" (The Pack A.D.- not well known but worth listening to)

Tempest- "Thunderstruck" (THUNDAH... awwahhh - wah awah wahhhh- THUNDAH)

Ra- "Clint Eastwood" (maybe more logical for Chronoranger, but we like our arrangement)

Fanatic- "Holy Diver" (the Dio original)

Omnitron X: "Mr. Roboto"

Unity: "U.N.I.T.Y." ("Queen Latifah, give me strength!" - Gene Belcher)

Expatriette: "Bang Bang" (My Baby Shot Me Down) (Obviously also considered "Bad Reputation" for several reasons)

Mr. Fixer: "Bring the Ruckus" ("En Garde! I'll let you try my Wu Tang style!")

Nightmist: "Black Magic Woman"

Chrono-Ranger: "Cowboy" (Jon Bon Jovi, natch. He's from the nineteenth century, he doesn't get how cheesy it is)

Setback: "Loser" ("In the time of chimpanzees/I was a monkey")

The Naturalist: "The Bad Touch" ("Alligators are not mammals," he severely informs the other heroes, who still persist in singing about how both he and them are nothing but)

The Sentinels: "Everything Is Awesome"

The Scholar: "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" (because he's The Dude, natch)

Argent Adept: "I Hear Colors" (The Black Angels)

As for villains, we don't have many for them... except the Apostate would HAVE to be something involving Glenn Danzig.

I could see the Idealist loving this song and the rest of the group at first just begrudgingly indulge her and then end up loving the song themselves. Then when the Idealist grows up, she hates that song, but the rest of the team still sing it to annoy her and out of a sense of nostalgia.

I tend to think more of the environments/villains having soundtracks than the heroes - each hero turn wouldn't last long enough!

For Gloomweaver, I'd suggest The Autumn Project - This We Take With Us (album). It all has a fairly dark and crawling tone, but Song 4 is a 14 minute soundtrack to a zombie apocalypse

For Wagner Mars base, I'd use 65daysofstatic - Wild Light (though that might well be replaced by the No Man's Sky soundtrack they're doing)

For Silver Gulch I'd use either Bear McCreary's Defiance video game score (particularly Ninety-Niners), or maybe Souvenir's Young America

For the Argent Adept.  This song by Crystal Lewis always makes me think of him.  It's called Over Me.

When there's music all around
No conductor in the stand
When the singing is like sobbing
With no method to the sound
There's a voice that reminds me not to fret
It's the one that rings out above the rest
There's a song, sets me free
Like a rhythm over me

There's a chain, chain of voices
Looking for a harmony
There's a sound like a trumpet
Blowing out across the sea
There's a beat from the center of the wind
With the heat from the keeper of the flame
There's a breath moving sweetly
Like a rhythm over me

And it is over me
When I feel I cannot move
It always carries me
It is over me
Like a rhythm over me

When I'm riding with the angels
With my feet like the hind
When I"m running with the angels
With my wings like the eagle
There's a voice that reminds me not to fret
It's the one that rings out above the rest
There's a song, sets me free
Like a rhythm over me

I don't know about you guys, but I'm stuck between a couple songs for Tachyon.

First one's a clasic:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj5qK7bqw-4

This one is a bit comedic, and I think it would fit well with her speedy lifestyle:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kmxK6rf79g

The next one is a bit dramatic, showing the plight of someone who can move faster than lightning stuck in a world that just...Seems so Slow(and it's an ode to one of my favorite heroes ever).:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMe1qlyuMXQ

What do you guys think?

(Edit: added another song and changed wording so I don't sound like I can't count. :P )
