I just got my preorder box and was looking at some of the new cards. I noticed something weird in my Prime Warden Haka card. The text on the power in my card says:

POWER: Play a card. If that card has "Haka" in the title, select one target to gain the benefit of your discarding.

The text is different from the one I've seen online and the discard part doesn't make much sense. What's up with this?

It was altered slightly for printing. Happens during PTing

It makes sense when you think about it. Haka plays one of his "Haka" cards. Draws 2, then discards X cards. He then chooses a target to gain the benefitial effect of that discarding, whether it be damage reduction from Shielding, healing, or damage from Battle

It makes sense. I forgot that "Haka" cards act with Haka discarding cards to provide an effect. It makes the power completely different from the one that I had seen.

It's a weird wording, but it does the job.

For completeness I'm copy/pasting my answer from BGG too.

Yes it's correct. Yes it makes sense.

There was a big debate in the playtesting forum on the wording and that is what they have gone for. The debate was about who did the discarding to power the Haka card, the recipient of the bonus or Haka himself, the current wording makes it clear(er) who discards.

Example

Prime Warden Haka uses his Guardian power to play a card. The card he plays is Haka of Battle

Haka of Battle reads "Draw 2 cards, then discard 1 or more cards. Increase the next Damage dealt by Haka by 1 for each card discarded this way."

Prime Warden Haka draws the 2 cards.

Prime Warden Haka discards 1 or more cards.

Prime Warden Haka can chose any target, Hero, Environment or Villain, to receive the bonus damage from the discard on his Haka of Battle card.

Example 2

Prime Warden Haka uses his Guardian power to play a card.

The card Prime Warden Haka plays is Vitality Surge

This is not a card with Haka in the title so only the hero Prime Warden Haka can gain 2 HP and draw a card.

The wording was changed to make it clearer as to what they were trying to say. The power is the same but some people weren't understanding what the true intent of the power was.

I mean, you can use me, but I don't look much like Haka.

I'll see what I can do. Not much at the moment, since I'm at home and using my phone to post.
