So, while messing around with a few ideas, I came upon a realization: I can't find a great way to represent the power of temporarily increasing the force of gravity on area. Does anyone have any ideas?

I feel like it ends up being similar to Headlong and using the Momentum power.  The idea of friction being used as gravity instead.

Telekinesis and/or Density Increase?

Density Control is a Self-Control power, it's only usable on yourself.  If it's done with a doodad, a Technology power would be fine.  Otherwise I'd actually go with Cosmic Energy ("The primal energies of the universe are yours to command").  And the effect would be a mass hinder.

Cosmic is a thought I hadn't had yet, and I'll definitely take a look at it.

The usage I was thinking of involved the Sorcerer's Cords Of Magic:

- Destroy all bonuses and penalties on a target. Then, Hinder that target using [power] using your Max die.

Briefly trapping the target in a gravity well could easily be a flavor of Cords Of Magic.

Personally, I'd find something that applied mass hinders and see if it could be appropriately skinned. Just about anything could be a source for that and be made to make sense. :-)

Cosmic is a great idea indeed!
I have been playing around with a concept of macroscopic quantum state (very cliché: Scientist creates a machine that meddles with his precise positioning in space/time, let’s call it the Uncertainty Generator, and takes on crimefighting to field-test its capabilities as a practical schroedinger’s cat).
Rigging the Inventions power into that idea seemed a bit of a long shot, but now I think a combination of Intangibility and Cosmic Energy Manipulation should do the trick nicely. Might even throw in a very limited Teleportation at d6 or so, to cover the spatial effects.
