I'm curious if anyone was able to watch Issue 1 of RPG Season 2, and, if so, if anyone has any questions/comments/etc. about what we are doing there! I love to hear feedback :)

Listening/watching to it now at work; I'll have some feedback once I'm through it.
Offhand, I particularly like Mishap as a character concept, particularly as a hero. The art design on her is suitably brilliant.
This group and the Visitors have been a four team. However, the Starter Kit and Stolen Legacy have six and five heroes respectively. Any reason why it was chosen to do groups of four for these?
I don't think the fact that there are 5 or 6 heroes available for those adventures means that's the ideal number, just the maximum number. Four seems to be the default assumption for the RPG's I know of (adjust up for more players, down for fewer). It's a good number for shows, too--already the 4 players in Paul's game talk over each other sometimes. More would be hard to follow.
I enjoyed it. I thought I was gonna hate Bubbles as a concept (not Jodi) but the whole team ended up turning out really well. I’m kind of sad that Hourly Rage didn’t greatest hits ‘The Final Countdown’ when Mishap was disarming the bomb.
Overall this season is shaping up to be more ‘Superhero-ey’ than the first season. When I think superheroes, I think Jetpack-Laser squad, not weird cosmic space dragons. I liked season 1, don’t get me wrong, just, this season seems more in line with typical superhero stuff. . . Minus the (apparent) six year old and 40 year old wheelchair-bound hippie artist.
I love how, during character creation, Chris was just like, "Well, here's a buttload of obscure Sentinels canon that will define my character!" Like, I'm not sure anyone else in the room was following him. XD
I love Mishap's design, though. I think Hourly Rage might be my fan fave, however. Rock bard!
@TakeWalker
Yeah, Chris is definitely the person in the office besides Christopher and Adam who knows the most obscure SC canon lol
@Powerhound_2000
We decided to do 4 characters because that is how many we can reasonably fit at our table while filming everyone. My actual preference for RPGs is to have 5 players.
Thanks. Was just curious about that.
New Sticky note for Mishap's Book of Heroing: Don't Kill Civilians.
What HAPPENED?! Man I can’t wait to get home to listen to the elisode now!
Thanks for watching (or listening), everyone. I certainly had an amazing time playing Mishap, and I hope that I can bring her back someday to break even more things.
Here are some notable things I've learned over the course of season 2*
*None of these things apply, and will almost certainly get you killed, if Adam or Christopher is the GM.
In all seriousness, playing this game taught me a HUGE amount about team synergy and thinking about complementary powers during creation, instead of designing everything in a vaccuum. We were all very punchy heroes, with very little that could help us defend, sustain, or deal with ranged stuff... and none of us had any sort of investigative or stealth capabilities. While I don't really regret any of the choices we made (even breaking the weapons!), there are DEFINITELY things I'd do differently if I was creating Mishap knowing all of this! If I ever get to play her again, she'll definitely have a few new tricks.
From all of the Escalators, thank you, and remember the wisdom passed down from the greatest rock muse of all time... "Somebody once told me..."
Mishap, Team Leader of the Escalators
(Note - still haven't watched the final 2 episodes.)
Bubbles and Concept Artist were pretty good at handling ranged stuff and being defensive when needed. And Mishap was great at destroying lots of innocent pinecone people from a distance. Errr. Ummm. Yeah.
You're right about the team lacking in investigative abilities. My own gaming group (Torg Eternity right now, but we'd be playing SCRPG if we had a copy) has nobody with any investigative skills and only one person who's any good at talking to people. It's proving to be a challenge.
In any game where there aren't obivious roles to fill (like supers), it's not always obvious when there's a gap in the group's skillset until it's too late.
