Just finished watching the latest Sentinel Comics Live stream, and I had an idea for something useful that might be added to the Kickstarter. In the spirit of Co-Op, let’s fill this post with cool things we would like to see come Kickstarter time!

I’ll start with my mid-game observation:

THE DECK OF MODS AND MINIONS

Basically, a custom card deck add-on that contains:

  • a bunch of double sided Modifier Cards (+1 on one side, -1 on the other, up to +4/-4), maybe a few with “Persistent” on them,
  • a bunch of cards that say “Minions” with a d4 or d6 or d-whatever printed below, and “Lieutenant” on the reverse side with the same die size,
  • a handful of double sided cards that read “Green Zone” & “Yellow Zone” and “Red Zone” & “Out”, enough for all players

The concept being that those index cards are super useful, but why keep writing them out over and over? And in a perfect world, the cards would be printed on a material you could use wet erase and/or dry erase markers on, for on the fly notations.

How feasible is this? No clue, but at least the idea is out there for GTG to consider, if they haven’t already. Any other ideas to throw at them over the next six months?

Wow–I'm flattered!  Thanks for the vote of confidence!

In all reality, though, I got a chance to chat briefly with Christopher (and Craig) at Origins.  I've made a standing offer to work on any Dark Watch-type sourcebook (or, perhaps, an Extremiverse book).  Note that there is no contract signed, no confirmation of such a book even existed–just an offer on my part that I'd be willing and able to work on such a thing, if they needed freelance writers.

For that matter, I'd happily offer up my "Villain of the Day" as a subsidiary rogues' gallery, if there was interest in including a 'rogues gallery' type sourcebook.

In not-me related ideas, how about this:

A series of interlocking plastic 1-inch tiles that you could lay flat on the table:  maybe 8 green, 8 yellow, and 8 red in a pack.  Using these, you can create a physical representation of the scene tracker, customizable as you need for the scene.  Then, you could use either a pointer tracker (or maybe include a translucent token to sit on top of the tile) to display which segment of the scene the players are in.

For my scene trackers, I just use a stack of poker chips. Green, yellow, and red stacked nicely and visible to the players. It works really well for me and gives a nice visual presentation.

(Plus, when the mission on Insula Primalis resulted in the heroes splitting up, I was able to grab a second set of chips and have two separate scenes!)

Hey, if you can snap 'em together, you could snap 'em apart, crumbling bridge style. Have miniatures representing the heroes to further hammer home the comparison! :V
