Environment Twists

It says to create the T-Rex with an environment pool... does that use the same scale as Unity? or is it the number of sides of the max or mid die?

Scene 2
When Haka loses patience, it says she attacks. No attack stats are given.

Should I be using a Villain profile, a Lieutenant die, or the Environment Pool?

For the t-Rex you just create a d10 lieutenant, you always roll the environments die pool even if the environment twist you’re planning to use doesn’t use your roll.

And for Haka, you can just grab dice at random or describe what she does, the rules do outright state that the players can’t beat her in combat.

It says nothing of the sort. It implies it weakly. It adds a hinder effect upon hitting her for damage…

That's pretty clear that damage can be done to her, otherwise, it never applies.

I don't think that's true.  I think it's a copy-paste error from the Pterodactyl Thief.  Not every hazard involves rolling the environment's dice (see F5 #802, for instance).

It's definitely vague about Haka being invincible, but it does describe talking her down as the only path to success, and her clocking Tempest as the consequence of failure.  The whole rest of the adventure assumes the heroes talked her down, though.

for my sunday group, I ran Haka as a d12 lieutenant - it was... unsatisfying for me and the players. She didn't feel tough enough. Further, since they burned their floaters to pacify her, and managed 3× (≥8) Overcomes... and one 13... they brought her along into scene 3.

Fortunately, the wednesday group is aiming for Russia first.

Edit to add: descibing the d6 tyrranosaur (I used unity's table on the mid environment die) made for some good comic relief, too,

I ran Haka as an Obstacle, any punches just get her in a bad mood, no way to KO her, she will just go away if I feel like they punched her too much (hopefully after clocking Tempest into next year). I use a d12, d10, d10 and just went from there.
