I was quite surprised to see that all of the Freedom Five (along with some of the other heroes and villains) have new costumes in the RPG. Epsecially since with the Freedom Five variant cards being released recently (ish), I expected the F5 to be dressed in those.

What're everyone's thoughts on the new costumes? Favorites/least?

I personally love Absolute Zero's new costume the best just on pure style compared to his old ones, and Bunker is also pretty high up on my list. Maybe I just like power armor too much. Bunker's look is REALLY divergent from how he was before, but his suits all look pretty different from each other, and it's got a very heroic "shining armor" look to it.

My least favorite is probably the new version of Anubis. He's got somewhat of a mummy/death vibe to him which I dig, but I honestly couldn't tell who he was supposed to be when I saw the art without a label. The lack of any sort of jackal motif is kind of weird. I thought Anubis had a real jackal head and not even a costume in the original card from the Tomb, similar to how Tefnut, Geb, Isis, and Shu all have extreme physical mutations.

(Flagged mild spoilers since some folks might not even want to know what heroes/villains show up, even if they don't know what they're doing or why)

The Anubis in SotM is the original Anubis and not someone who gained the powers through a relic of power.   This is the first time someone is Anubis using a relic of power so it’s hard to say whether it should transform him that much or not but I liked it.  The Freedom Five outfits I think all look good and we had a preview from Adam a bit ago for his swaptober art.   I really like the new Haka.   Tempest’s outfit just seems odd to me.   I don’t like or dislike it but it stands out to me.

I love Baron Blade's new look for basically being peak aristocratic mad scientist.

I like how Argent seems to have pretty much fully embraced the "bard" part of his look, though I do wonder what we should read into the rose taped around his arm.

Visionary looks really sharp, too. Like the sort of outfit she can finally be at home in.

Out of the F5's new looks, I think I like Tachyon's the best, especially those sweet goggles and boss running shoes.

On the flipside, I agree that Tempest's new look is just... odd-looking.

It's probably a reminder to him of the trouble that came from using the Baton, and to not dabble in magics one is not prepared for.

Yeah, Tempest has a distinct Chippendales look to them.  I agree that Anubis's look is an odd decision--the Ennead has several members that outright have animal heads, so that should be acceptable.  I guess he doesn't just because he's a hero now and the jackal head doesn't look even remotely heroic.  Haka looks cool but doesn't look at all Maori--she has a sort of Celtic/Native American thing going on.

On the other hand, AA looks fantastic (and makes me wonder if one could use the Sentinels rules to run a straight-up fantasy game).  I like the new Wraith (no more bandage-mask) and Bunker (shiny!), but for AZ and Tachyon I'm spoiled by their gender-swapped versions, which look great.

I kind of hope Adam redoes the cover of Sentinels of Freedom #1, though.  The angle young Legacy is flying at and those thigh-boots make her look like an amputee.  And Heritage... he looks like a court jester.  What are the emblems on his shoulders supposed to be?  They look like ouija pendulums.

The strangest thing about Tempest is that it has hooves now, before it wore boots and had feet , now it has hooves.

I'm pretty sure the 'hooves' thing is just the angle being weird. If you look at the front cover of the Prime Wardens adventure, it's pretty clear he has normal feet. I do agree that his outfit is... very strange. I'll probably actually have to make him my bottom for outfits. But I really like most other people... I actually completely missed the rough, gruff Argent Adept. He's awesome.

The point on Anubis is probably correct - usually only villains have extreme body alterations. There are some exceptions to be sure, but it doesn't give off the 'hero' vibe quite as well. Also I just realized what's on his shirt is probably supposed to be a jackal-head motif... I thought it was just a skull.

Am I the only one who thinks Tempest looks really cool?  I'm actually not a big fan of Visionary and Wraith's new looks.  In particular, Wraith's new outfit is too "generic rogue" whereas her original outfit was really iconic to me.  Absolute Zero looks awesome, and I'm really glad he didn't keep his ridiculous Freedom Five suit.  I think everyone agrees that full-bard Argent Adept looks amazing.  Miss Information was redesigned so much that I wasn't even sure it was her at first, but she looks cool.  I would say everyone else is about the same as before or a slight improvement.

Thanks.  Now I can't unsee that haha.

It's really just the combo of both the alien speedo and the thigh-high boots that makes it look a little unfortunate to me personally.  If it was either a more covering outfit or  had knee-high or otherwise more practical boots, it wouldn't be so bad for me.

As for Argent Adept, forgot to say I'm also still curious about what those rings are all about, too.
