Question about tachyon nimble strike and legacy's out ability

Nimble strike says when a Target moves near you you may Attack it by rolling your speed die. Does this mean just roll the speed die and nothing else? Or make an attack using speed as your power.

Similar to the legacy out ability. It says boost am ally using America’s finest. I assume just the die but just want to be sure.

Out abilities and Reactions use only one die.
