I hadn't seen the answer to this anywhere, so I figured I'd ask here to try to get a definitive answer:

Is there going to be / is there now a PDF version of the Starter Kit available?  If it's a future release, do we have a release date?

Paul commented in his November State of GtG thread that there will be a pdf and those who buy the physical will be able to obtain one free.   https://greaterthangames.com/comment/180955#comment-180955

It does not mention a release date for that PDF though.

I don't know exact timing for any of this but the PDF will be provided to anyone who buys the physical copy (if you pre-ordered from GtG, they'll send it directly, if you buy from an FLGS, you'll get it through the Bits & Mortar program.) The PDF will also be available by itself in the GTG store and elsewhere.

Yeah, no.

Much as I love >G I am not interested in buying it on this site, I trust the DriveThru group of sites far more than an individual company's website.

Sorry >G

Hope this means pre-order customers will be getting an email today for their copy. I’d rather not spend another $10 on something I’m already getting.

But dang howdy if it ain’t tempting so as to immediately download it and devour its contents like a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day.

Now I'm regretting picking up my pre-order copy at PAX Unplugged. Need to find out how we'll get our PDF version, but that is not high enough on the priority list to warrant actual effort/time...

I can confirm if you buy the physical copy right now they also include links to the PDFs.

It'll be up on DriveThru after the preorders go out as well.

Yeah, if we pre-ordered the starter kit, are we expecting a code in the starter kit for the PDF or should we be getting an email from GTG at some point?

That's my only confusion/question right now.

My guess is the starter kits will come with a code on/in it somewhere, and we can verify that to get the PDF later...

Unless you signed up with FedEx to receive notices about packages sent to you, you won’t get any.  If you have and haven’t gotten a notice I imagine you’ll probably get one within the week.

I’ve signed up before for previous items. Do I have to do it for every new item? I also haven’t seen a change in the status on the online store. The item in “MY ORDERS” is still status “pre-order”

If you’ve made an account with FedEx to get notices you don’t have to repeat it.  My Orders Page also still says Preorder despite getting notice it was being shipped out by FedEx.

That might explain it, I dunno. I have no idea whether I ever signed up for FedEx or not, since I'm used to companies sending tracking emails for stuff anyway, so why bother? (I did sign up for UPS at some point.)

So, an interesting bit of lore on my first read through…

The riot cannon used by Bunker is actually derivative technology, reverse engineered by Tachyon from Expatriette’s Infinity Cannon (which she used during OblivAeon).

I’m seriously depressed that I’m too broke to buy the PDF right now.

While waiting for my FLGS to get my copy in, I bought the PDFs.

I preordered the physical copies. I was under the impression if you own the physical copy you can get the PDFs no charge, was I mistaken?

As I understand it (and I expect to be corrected very soon) you get them from the >Games store, not from DriveThruRPG.

If you don't have yours I'd ask the powers that be.

I used the "contact us" page to ask about this very same thing. I picked the game up at PAX Unplugged (bought the 2nd copy sold) and they were all saying that we would get the PDF free..... If I hear something back I can share I will.

@viddwizard

If you picked the game up at Unplugged, we'll definitely send you a free PDF! If you are in that position, please email contact@greaterthangames.com. If you haven't heard back by next Wednesday, send me an email at "paul@greaterthangames.com".

I just picked up my copy of the Starter Kit at a FLGS as an early birthday present to myself.

I looked through the contents and didn't see any reference to obtaining a PDF copy.

Am I SOL? Am I missing something? I'd like to run the game for my online group, but without digital material to give them, it's not very feasible.

If the retailer is part of the bits and mortar program, they can give you the PDF included as part of the purchase: http://www.bits-and-mortar.com/how-do-i-get-my-pdf/

If not, reach out to contact@greaterthangames.com
