So with august 17 as a release date should I go though my Local shop or order online. Honestly I just want it in my hands asap.

I would say support your local game store if you can, but make sure you tell them that you have an interest in the Sentinels Comics RPG so they know to stock it if they can.

GtG have stated they are happy for you to purchase through any channel.
If you're fond of your local game store, by all means support them.
Definitely purchase it through whatever channel makes you the most happy! That said, take any reports of a firm release date with a grain of salt until we announce one here or on social media :)
